Previously used a Nikon D610. The performance of this camera is amazing. I recently used it during a NY trip and the battery life was fine. I just carried 3 batteries with me which is no big deal. The quality of the image is superb. Nothing but happiness with this camera.

Great experience.
Moved up from A7, using Voigtlnder lenses, i really appreciate the image stabilization the A7ii offers. I love the new feel and ergonomics. Overall great experience. B&H had a good price and the complementary super fast B&H was outstanding. I am very satisfied and still enjoy the new feel of the camera.

This camera is the best of all worlds without compromise!
Intuitive in all situations. Shines at shooting in low light and long exposures. Auto focus is accurate and works in low, low light. Beautiful images with lots of dynamic range. Photographs show wonderful details and rich color/contrasts. This is my second one. I've shot the others and for me, this is beyond compare. So far there is nothing it doesn't do very, very well. Stabilization means I don't miss shots! Only cons: It needs a fully articulating back and a silent shutter mode. I'd also like a small pop up flash for fill.

Great quality!
I wanted to get the a7Rii but it was too expensive for non-professional use, imo. But this one is a great cheaper alternative. I don't regret making the jump from DSLR to mirrorless with this camera!

Perfect but for one big flaw..
A perfect camera in all respects except for its performance with portraits, which require significant post work in LR and or PS to make acceptable for clients. Skin tones of almost all subjects were unflattering with a harshness to skin tones and very often an orange cast. I tried two A7II's to make sure it wasn't a problem with just one example. Switched to the A7RII and nave no issue with this. Used the same Zeiss lenses and Sony's 70-200 f4 on both. Also never had this issue with Nikon's 24mp full frame sensor.

SONY 7II
I bought it in December so haven't used it much. Like it's performance better than Fuji X-T1. It has hardly any lag time and is easier to use with flash.

A7 mark II is a great shooter.
This is a professional step for Sony. Its processor is fantastic, autofocus is fast and the camera comes with a nice kit lens. The 5-axis stabilizer is a savior in many situation, as well. The camera is also equipped with a direct manual focus which helps a ton when you need to really get a sharp shot and the light is too low for the autofocus to get there. It get you there 90% and then the last 10% your adjust manually. It's an awesome feature. ... Show More

4 STARS
I have only had the camera for a few weeks, but I am impressed by the image quality paired with a 15mm Voitlanger manual lens. Pros seem to be the compact size and being able to use different lenses with adapters and great looking photos straight out of the camera. The cons: Battery life is poor, and its a bit heavy despite its small size. Cool looking design.

Returning Due to Battery Life
Fantastic camera all around with one MAJOR PROBLEM: Battery Life. I gave this camera two weeks to see if I could get myself to overlook this HUGE FLAW, but I couldn't get over it. I come from a beastly Canon 5Ds and Canon 6D. Was trying to move on from these due their size. I shoot travel photography the most, but I'm going to stay with my Canon gear. I simply can't afford to lose 1% point per minute having the camera turned on. I tried the Airpl... Show More

Super!
This truly is a great camera! I moved from the a77ii to a7ii to scale down on weight, but haven't owned a full frame and thought I would take the leap, and it truly was a great move for me. I found the a77ii, while a great camera, produced over saturated shots, and now I am getting REAL life colour with the a7ii! Even in auto you can get great results, most of the time. Better than any Sony I've had; and I've moved from a300, 580, a77ii, and now a7ii. I'm VERY happy with my purchase!

Working On It
A very impressive camera. I'm sure my images will improve as I become more skillful with it.

excellent image quality
The a7 II with the Sony/Zeiss 55 1.8 is an excellent combination. I'd been waiting for a high resolution camera that isn't huge to lug around and this is it.

Bang For Buck, A Best Value
After being a Canon shooter for years and having a substantial investment in EF-mount glass, I was aiming for a compact system that I could take abroad that would provide the high-quality stills I was accustomed to capturing with the larger DSR's. Through much investigation, I ended up with this body. That was about a year ago. To-date, I have not bought a single FE mount lens and only use this body with EF (Canon), FD, (really old Canon), and M ... Show More

high quality
Amazing, high-quality shots day and night. Truly the next generation. And the price! Also love the classic rugged case design--and it fits well in the hand. Light enough I can use it all day without wrist fatigue. Buttons and switches well thought-out and placed in the right spots.

Great camera for just about everything.
Loving this camera so far. I've had just for about a month. Image quality is great and even the kit lens is really good. It's not the sharpest but you'll be impressed. Battery life isn't great but not bad. Obviously it could always be better. Camera has great features when it comes to phone connectivity for transfering picture and controlling the shutter. Loving it so far. B&H delivered it fast just in time before my trip to Europe. Loved that too!

Amazing body. Could use better battery life, low light focus
The a7ii is amazing, especially given its size. Haven't had it too long so I might update this review in a few months, but as of right now it seems perfect for travelling with. Picked up the Zeiss 55/1.8 to start and get a feel for it, and the image quality with that combo carries no complaints. The a7ii's EVF is also the best I've seen--especially the less useful function of viewing recent shots because its ridiculously high pixel density makes ... Show More

Just What I Needed
I'm an amateur photographer hoping to move on to pro, and this camera is suitable for my needs. The 5-axis stabilization works perfectly with both my Nikon lenses using the Novoflex adapter, and the 24.3 mp sensor is a perfect size. The menus are easy to navigate, and you can easily customize them for easy access. I personally don't mind the sound of the shutter, and for my needs, it has really good low light performance. It does suck batteries pretty fast because of the display, and I highly recommend that you purchase the battery grip together with it.

Excellent tool!
Love this camera and its compact body. Very light weight, quiet, discreet. Was easy to get a hang of it, as I'm coming in from Nikon systems. The only downfall to this is the battery life. If you're getting into a long day of shooting, bring extra juice and lots of it.

My 1st Mirrorless and I am impressed!!!!
I am not a pro but very enthusiastic about photography, I was shooting with canon and acquired few cannon lenses and extras overtime, I Shoot with a rebel due to the fact that weigh of the camera is very important for me since i start developing wrist pain and won't be able to use my camera gears. I was looking to switch to a full frame body for long time but the problem with cannon full frames are that a camera with acceptable capabilities the w... Show More

Amazing camera!
Love it! The camera is way nicer than I even need. But I love the features and the simplicity and the complex nature of how the photos turned out. My only beef with this camera. Is that there is no way to adjust manually the white balance without a bunch of buttons pushed. Also the exposure dial, cannot be remastered to do anything else so if I don't use it it's a waste. Also the exposure dial, cannot be remastered to do anything else so if I don't use it it's a wasted dial. But I am a big fan of Sony! And this camera is the best camera I've ever owned! Sony gets it right
This is a great camera. The controls are great, the software is good and the images are fantastic. I love to use my legacy prime lenses with this camera; wonderful results. I only have two gripes about this camera, which is why I give it a 4 star review instead of a 5 star. 1- The aperture and shutter dial are small and plastic and feel cheap for the rest of the camera. They are a bit to hidden and not as accessible as I would like. 2- The weight... Show More

Love It
I love this camera. I bought it as a graduation present for myself and have been overwhelmed with its performance. It takes amazing photos. I have the zeiss 55mm lens and the combo is amazing. The photos take up a lot of space but they are such high resolution it is worth it. I am able to crop down photos really far to simulate a zoom without losing image quality since I have a prime lens. All of my friends are very jealous of my camera, and I have already convinced one of them to buy one for himself. Buy this camera.

Amazing colors
The camera is awesome. Colors are amazing, they pop in the computer screen. I have nothing to complain but the noise (in comparison with others full frames, like canon 6d for exemple) and the few lenses options.

Worth the upgrade
So where do I start ? I am unsure. This is a really good camera. Did not get mine from BnH but I thought I'd give my verdict. I'm still learning even after 3 months. Paired with the 28 F2 this cam works wonders. HDR is awesome though in JPEG. Lacks a built in flash but I guess that's ok due to design. The video button is difficult to reach no idea why sony would put that there. The menus are a bit odd to get into to note I came from a NEX6. The image quality really depends on the lens at hand but so far I'm impress. I guess not all people would like this camera though due to it's quirkyness.
