Great add for telephoto lens
Got this to compliment my a7rii which I use mainly for landscape and portraits. Other than the small LCD screen (now use with SmallHD Focus which is outstanding!), it works great with my 70-200 2.8 and the continuous mode in RAW is outstanding. Highly recommend as it's FPS speed is the fastest of the a6000 series.

I would buy this product again and do recomend it too.
Owned the A6500 for four months now and I am happy with my purchase. I wanted a compact and lightweight camera kit. It fits the bill. The A6500 is complimented with Sigma Art prime lenses and a Leica 28mm prime that stays on the camera most of the time. The A6500 is a lot of fun. Bill K Steamboat Springs Colorado.

Phenomenal Camera
Just a pleasure to shoot with, has just about everything you could ask for in a semi pro camera and more. Super fast, great focus, low light, sharp and crisp photos. Excellent video as well. I highly recommend for the this camera for enthusiasts, hobbyist, etc. B&H also has phenomenal bundles to go along with it.

Great little camera
My main camera is the Canon 1dx mark ii but this little Sony A6500 gets used much more due to its compact size. I can easily tote it in a small backpack with 3 or 4 lenses and a flash. I pretty much take it everywhere. I still love my Canon for certain events, but this little Sony is equally loved. Great camera!

Not a shlepp to bring this top camera along
The handling, quality, and portability, as well as importantly clarity and sharpness of the pictures of this camera has made me take it with me more often increasing the times I have a camera ready to take great pictures at meaningful moments with all the functions. It is not a shlepp to bring the camera along.

Great Camera for Video!
What a fantastic camera. Paired with a few great lenses from Sony/Sigma it really is a top notch performer. All around great camera for video with 4K, fantastic autofocus, fast buffer and more. I use it as a secondary body for film, but also as a fun travel / family camera instead of lugging around the DSLR.

Sony's best APS-C camera to date
Ive owned the a6000 & a6300 prior to buying the a6500 and this one tops them both by a wide margin. The 5-Axis SteadyShot and touch screen features make this a worthy upgrade for the money. I have the Sony FE 24-70 2.8 GM lens paired with this body which makes for a stellar sports or run-n-gun camera rig.

Save your money
The purchase of this camera started out to be a great. In under year camera started malfunctioning. Contacted Sony, I was referred to a repair a center which has UNSATISFACTORILY repaired the camera. What a shame, maybe Sony should focus an establishing a repair center to support their faulty equipment.

It is a fair camera
I use this camera for videos. The things I like to most about this camera are the steadyshot and picture profiles. But Sony really need to work on their menu setting. It is too complicated and unlogic to users. Also overheat is concern. I can feel the body warm up pretty quick even not shooting 4K.

Better than A6000 but not perfect.
I bought to replace/supplement an existing A6000. Auto-focus speed was the primary reason, and it does indeed seem faster, but still not 100% accurate in all cases. Only shot about 200 photos so far, and need to play around with more advanced settings to get fully comfortable with the camera

Very competent medium sized camera
Purchased the a7500 as a smaller backup to my a7r2 and to fill the image quality gap between my RX100 and a7r2. It is a very competent camera with much of the function of its larger sibling but of course fewer pixels and 1.5 X field of view. I am still evaluating it but so far am satisfied.

It's a Small Wonder
Yes, it's all what these people say. I have the 6000. Did not consider using it for professional video work (flimsy body, no real control for picture profile) But this 6500, yes I'm using it for work. Still need stuff to make it pro level, though (cage, real mic, monitor and shoulder rig)

The best Apsc at the moment

Best Bang for the buck!
Did some stress test on the 6500. I was able to shoot at 1080 60p @ 50mbs for 1.5 hours straight with no overheating. I also dis 4k 30p @100mbs for 1.5 hours straight and did not turn off, however it did get toasty. 4k, s-log and decent low light capabilities? Can't beat it at $1400

Easy to use mirrorless camera
Very light weight camera, easy to use and takes great photos. I'm not a huge fan of the Sony app for transferring photos to my computer or device through bluetooth, but transferring with a USB wire is easy. I love the camera package and the lenses offer a huge range for photos.

sony could and should learn from Apple.
EXTREMELY awkward to use wifi transfer of pictures, requiring too many steps. some features need better explanation. seems to take ok pics. on my nex7, which it replaced, pics were never sharp enough. seems better on this one. menus are deep, but not as complicated as some say.

MOST VERSATILE/PORTABLE 4K CAMERA ON THE MARKET!
The a6500 is a near-perfect camera for the price in the 4k market. The colors have improved greatly since the a6300, which is great for us that don't like Sony colors. The IBIS works perfect and makes all my non-IS lenses stabilized. It's not perfect, but it's a HUGE advantage.

Review sony a6500
We only use the 6500 for video - mainly weddings. So far amazing! The low light capabilty is incredible - so far 12000 iso and no video noise. Using sony 18-200 power zoom - great combination! As always b&h service is 5 star!! Selling my gh3 and gh4 and buying 2 more of these!

Yes, I would buy this again.
This was an upgrade for me from the A6000. My biggest surprise was how much more robust the build quality feels. It feels like a professional camera when you pick it up. So far I'm very happy with the camera but I have not taken enough pictures to evaluate the new features.

Upgrade of my A6000
I have only taken a few pictures, but know I will love it, as My A6000 is my favorite cameraI I have ever owned. In the past I bought a new camera at lease one a year. I presently own three A6000 Sonys and have recommended them to several good friends, who bought them also.

Nothing like Sony
I was hardcore Canon user. Added Sony a6500 to my gear for video purposes. I find it amazing. AF is fast and accurate. Sony lenses like 35mm 1.8 are great for videos and portraits, Bought metabones V5 adapter to use my canon and tamron lenses on it. all working amazing.

Great for Pros and Advanced
Would have given 5 stars had Sony included a real operators manual to at least go over the basic and some advanced capabilities. If you are not a professional photographer figure on spending for $30 how-to book and/or spend hours on youtube watching for tips and tricks.

Great camera. Annoying 4K.
I used to shoot with the A6000 and decided to upgrade. Great camera. The touch screen is ok, not the best. MAJOR problem is the dimming of the screen when shooting 4K video, research this before purchasing. I did not know about it before purchasing mine. Super annoying.

the a6500 lives up to the reviews
I have an a7RII, a6300 and now the a 6500. I've been using the 6300 and 6500 mostly for video. I bought the 6500 for the in body stabilization which works well. The touch screen doesn't add much functionality but the ability to move the focus point is a great feature.
