Do not purchase this camera!!
The AF on this camera is amazing!! That being said the rolling shutter is horrible!! you see from other reviews some of the other issues with this camera. Sony did terrible thing when they released this camera full knowing they would follow it with the 6600 which has IBIS. They are now releasing a new APSC G lense 16-55 F2.8 which DOES NOT have OSS. I'm done with sony now. Anyone want to purchase a 6400.

Best APS-C Camera
So far the best A6XXX series camera on the market right now. Features are future proof. It will be the next A6000 for a very long time. Spending more than a grand on a crop sensor is not the right choice thats why I skipped A6600 and purchased A6400. The price range for A6600 is absolutely ridiculous. One should go for full frame instead. And buying experience at B&H was painless and fast. So thank you BH!!

Perfect upgrade from a Canon T6i
This camera is the perfect upgrade from my Canon Rebel T6i. It shoots 11 fps, handles higher ISO better and the AF system is beyond Canon.

Spectacular camera
This thing has dramatically upped the quality of my videos and pictures. I cant imagine a better camera for the money. The only downside is an absolutely horrible iphone companion app which makes sharing jpeg versions of images hard.

Wow! I love the A6400!
I absolutely LOVE this camera. I upgraded from the A6000 (which I still love) because I needed the enhanced tracking capabilities. There was a bit of a learning curve, but I found a very thorough tutorial on YouTube, which walked me through the various menus and helped me get my custom settings dialed in. I love how the eye-autofocus follows a moving subject --- that's exactly what I was missing in my A6000. Sony is a great, reasonably priced camera, and dealing with B & H is always a good experience!

Replaces my A6300 bought last January '19
I bought this camera to replace my A6300 that I only got in January of 2019. I loved that A6300. Someone else will enjoy that camera now. The truth is I could not pass up the better auto focus and seriously upgraded processor the Sony A6400 comes with now.

Great camera, bad battery life
The only thing that I don't like about the camera is the battery life. All in all it has great picture quality, functions, autofocus, low light performance. Everything you need at that price point.

Wait! Before you buy.....read this.
This camera is awesome! Had it a week (over 4,200 images taken already.) Taking pics I don't know were possible. I have had two a77 for about 6 years and this blows them away. Super fast auto focus for the birds Low light is good. Packages each burst of shots so you can view and decide which is the best. So far so good...
Received the camera and am learning it's quirks and processes. Was recently surprised it went through 50 gb in less than an hour. Mild warming noted but it did not shut down. Recently used gimbal but could not properly balance. Will try camera with soon to be bought primary lense.

Great camera
Camera is great although the menu/setting are taking quite a bit of time to understand even though my previous camera was a Sony NEX-5N. Bag too little to be useful. A bigger memory card or a polarizing filter would have been more useful than the bag.

I just got it but i have already checked out the HD/UHD video capabilities, 60/30/24FPS and all works great. The pictures are fantastic too. B&H always delivers a great service and the products we need.

Awesome Camera
I love this camera. I have been a loyal Nikon user for 30 years and reluctantly moved over to Sony. I needed something a little more backpacking friendly in terms of size and weight. The A6400 fit the bill. I traded in my D7200 & Nikon lenses and took the plunge. The A6400 with 18-135 and the Sony 10-18 covers just about all my photography needs. Loving it so far!
I had an a6000, gave it to my girlfriend. I got this one for me! So far, I'm really loving it. 4K video is great! I made the right decision! The little extras were worth the upgrade!

Perfect for travel
If you can tolerate Sony's menu system (I can) then this is an ideal travel camera (and really, great for a lot of purposes, but I use pro gear most of the time, and have no desire to carry it on a trip). With a 1.5 crop factor, you're at 24-75mm, which is a nice range for travel. Great quality images out of camera - probably better if I had spent more time learning the settings (but I purchased this the day before we left for Switzerland). Excellent overall.

Lightweight Awesome camera
I have been shooting this camera with the Sigma 30/56 1.4 combo along with the 18-135. Fantastic image quality especially in RAW. Tracking AF is excellent with people and makes for a fun experience to use. You will need to customize some of the controls to your liking and get familiar with how everything works. Spend some time building up the MY MENU screen with frequently used menu items to avoid having to dig around. Once you get setup its a joy to use.

Too many menus
This was billed as THE thing for a vlogger - NOT. The flip-up screen is difficult to get up when positioning yourself in front of it. There literally must be 100+ different menu options and no paper manual for quick reference. I still can't figure out how to be sure Autofocus is actually going to work from day to day. White balance - like everything else - too many options.

Lewis: My New 6400 7/2019
Being a beginner from my Cannon 40d, I did my homework and decided on the a6400. The quality in the build is awesome. At 62 I like the size. I can grow with. Retired 1 year now. The viewfinder is brilliant. I started with the 18-135 and this is good for me now. I will be traveling a lot in USA and abroad. This is a beauty. Thanks B&H.

Just What the Doctor Ordered
I'm a 73 year old life-long advanced amateur photographer with newly acquired back issues. Along the road I've had the best, biggest and heaviest of camera gear. The A6400/18-135 combination is a very capable, small and light weight camera with a lens which is perfect for documenting 95% of my travels. It will take nice pictures right out of the box with AUTO, P, A, S & M; but to use all of its capabilities requires several hours of getting familiar with the menu system. Then you're good to go.

Sony alpha 4k
I like this camera lot, and the 4k function works great, four under $1000 I am good for 4k, I transfered the MP files right from the camera and works fine. Great camera for me. using my external; lenses I use with my Nex camera for stop motion and live action. the movie button is still very difficult to depress in a hurry, should be larger. getting great color with Lumetrie presets in Priemere. this camera has very consistent exposure on manual, so you can do stop action with no external program.

Amazing with Sigma 16mm 1.4
Ive had my camera for about a month now and I gotta say its amazing. I sold my Canon80D and bought the a6400 the same day. I didnt have any Sony lenses or a SD card that support 4K video so this bundle was right up my ally. The camera bag is really good quality too. If youre thinking about making this purchase, I highly suggest it! I also highly recommend the Sigma 16mm 1.4 contemporary lens. Dont be fooled with the Contemporary brand, its definitely a ART quality!
