Sony Alpha a6000 Mirrorless Digital Camera with 16-50mm Lens (White)
Love it so Far
I had heard great reviews about this camera especially the video quality....and so far this camera is living up to all the great reviews. It's easy to use, compact but acts like a DSLR, a great lens, and I really like the WiFi so I can download my photos to my computer without having a cord or card reader! I got this camera for underwater use but haven't been able to take it underwater yet....need to get the housing. Super excited to see that is camera does underwater.

Excellent Value
It is hard to believe the amount of technology packed into this tiny body. I have used this with the Sony 70-200mm f4, Zeiss Loxia 2/35 and 2/50. All the lenses worked well with this body. The primary reason I bought this was to pair it with my a7r for when I wanted to shoot sports photos. It has handled this task very well. I do not understand why people make as much of a big deal about the battery life. While it is not as good as your typical DSLR it's not that bad.

Excellent Mid Level Camera
This was an excellent purchase for me. I have a DSLR already, but it was cumbersome to carry around while hiking. I wanted something lighter weight, that would still take great images. I passed the point and shoot models by, since I wanted raw files and the ability to manually adjust my pictures. My cons are that the beginner lens is low quality & the eye piece is very sensitive, which often shuts off the back display if it perceives that you are looking through it.

Great lightweight, compact alternative to DSLR.
I have used this camera for a couple of months now. I really like the ease of using manual overrides, something I never gained facility with using my Nikon D200. When starting up the a6000 is a little slow, but once it's powered up it is quick. The battery life is surprisingly short, compared with other digital cameras I've had. I tried switching of Wi-Fi and it still burns up the batteries pretty quikly. I just make sure to have a fully-charged spare at all times.

Great camera value!
There's been many raving reviews already so I'll keep it short. Basically, you get a lot for the money! Nicely designed camera, nice fit in hand as long as your hands aren't HUGE, good EVF, easy to control after initial setup, fast AF, and great image quality. Its been called the best bang-for-the-buck in the mirrorless segment and I have to agree. Personally the only thing I wish it had is a touchscreen for selecting focus point. It was really handy on my Sony 5R.

Incredible camera, fast, light , sharp
Purchased this camera to use with my Sony A77 when I don't want to carry the extra weight. I have a feeling that this may well replace the A77 permanently. I am using it with the 18-105 Gglass lense which make it bulkier but still lighter than the A77. I do a lot of street photography and have found that its supper fast focus really helps grab those shots that normally I would miss. Battery life is not near as good as the A77, but not bad, Plan to buy two batteries

Great so far
My first mirrorless camera and I haven't been disappointed. Great in low light. I purchased this camera to take on trips and photograph family events, rather than lug around my heavy DSLR. The only downfall I've found is it's hard for me to remove the memory card (and I don't have large hands). Buy an extra battery or 2 as it does go through them. I plan on purchasing an external battery charger as well so I don't have to rely on charging the battery in the camera.

Universal camera
I really like my new camera. Before I used Canon full-frame mirror system. Sony has a lot benefits. Its not too heavy. I take this camera everywhere. Also its not too expensive like full frame mirror camera, but quality pretty similar. Im not afraid take this camera to the night club or beach. AF is amazing! Its very easy to give your friends, who are not photographer and take pictures of your self))) I highly recommend this camera and B&H-who knows what they sell

Perfect for travel!
I have found that this camera is perfect in every way, shape and form. I'm a retired teacher that is going to start traveling and needed a small camera other than a point and shoot. I love the grip and that it has a zoom lens. My hands tend to shake a little from old age, but this camera takes a perfect picture every time! It is also small enough to fit in my purse, so will be easy to take along on my trips. I'm so glad that I bought it and highly recommend it!!!

Fabulous Camera
I bought my a6000 when a very favorable short term sale popped up. I could not be more delighted with this powerful little camera. The image quality is excellent, the Sony Autofocus, Facial recognition and Focus tracking are game changers for me (a devoted Canon shooter) The B&H You Tube by Gary Fong is essential information to unlock the capabilities and has be very excited to do all I can to make use of the incredible capacity of the a6000. Getcha One. Now!

great, light substitute for DSLR
I am taking a beginning DSLR course so I am not an expert on cameras. However, I had been using a Canon EOS40D and I had no trouble transitioning to this mirrorless interchangeable lens camera. The Sony a6000 is very compact. I am able to put it, a telephoto lens, an extra battery, and a charger in a small camera bag made for Sony Nex 7. The fact that they removed the level that was in the Sony Nex 7 is a disappointment as is the smaller yet quite bright EVF.

Very good camera.
Camera is very responsive and the function buttons are easy to customize. I wish it would include an instruction manual because I had to look online to figure out how to use the features that make it the great camera that it really is. The continuous tracking auto focus works very well and I am very pleased wih the quality of the photographs. One must adjust the settings correctly in order to take full advantage of all of its features. I highly recommend it.

Oh Yes! You will be glad too!
Bought this camera for shooting sports and I am not disappointed at all. It picks up my subjects and follows them across the court. The tracking with the 50mm and the 20mm are consistent in several of the gyms I have had to work in. Using the the auto ISO allows me to capture what I need. Shooting in RAW and then tuning in Aperture gets it done! I also like the size and the rapid fire capability. I do not miss what I am photographing. Wish it held two cards.

Great camera but LOUSY LENS
5* for camera and 1* for lens. I have owned this camera for 3+ years now and it is a great camera for street shooting. Unfortunately the same cannot be said about this lens which is very soft throughout its entire range of focal lengths. lens choices for the e mount are somewhat limited but I personally recommend some of the Sigma prime lenses. These are cheap and super sharp but are not telephoto. Still as they say, you are standing on your best telephoto!

Buy it! Great images for the price, or even twice the price.
This is one sweet little camera. It produces nice photographs with snappy resolution even with the kit lens. I'm a geologist and use the camera in the field because of small size, light weight, and quality photographs. My only caution is DO NOT DROP IT. I dropped my first less than a meter. It landed on soil with pine needles. Oops, a total loss. Replaced it immediately with my current A6000. Keep the in a case with the strap around your neck when in use.

I X- thousand other owners cant be wrong
This camera, for me, has the quickest and most accurate autofocus of any camera that Ive ever owned. There is a huge amount of info on the web about this camera so I knew exactly what I was getting, and I was not disappointed. Its a great step-up camera for the casual photographer. Its a battery eater, especially when set to continuous autofocus. Buy a couple of extra batteries along with a charger, two batteries and a charger can be gotten for about $20.

Great for indoor sports!
Have been searching far and wide for the perfect body and lens combination to capture the indoor volleyball action for my daughter's Varsity and club teams. After testing large and heavy Canons, I settled in this one. I have zero regrets! I actually have been dabbling with vintage prime manual focus lenses. Using the peaking function of this camera I can ensure that my targets are always in focus. Even as a relative beginner I am getting some great shots.

Great low cost option.
I bought this model when it was first released and bought every new release, selling the older models. I finally upgraded to the a73, which is a fantastic camera, but I missed the a6000 so I bought another one. I know it is getting old and lacks a lot of the bells and whistles but it makes great images and is so light and fun to use, I have no regrets. It makes better images than any cell phone even with the kit lens. Photos are from Christmas day.

Great Mirrorless Camera
It is great for a camera in it's class. It shoots well down to ISO 1600. Can start to look noisy after that, but this is pretty good for a non-full frame camera. The autofocus is great for a mirrorless camera. I would have given it 5 stars if it had weather sealing. I use this as an adventure camera for climbing, mountaineering, and other outdoor sports, and I'm nervous about the exposure to dirt, dust, and sand over time. Overall, very impressed.

Great image quality, but menus seem non-intuitive
I am pleased with the image quality so far. I bought it to use as a compact travel camera that has dslr image quality. I have Canon dslrs, including full frame models, but they are a bit bulky for general site visits and day hikes. The Sony mechanical build quality is not up to my expectations nor are the Sony menu interfaces what I am used to. But again, I purchased it mainly for the size and the image quality, which seem to meet my hopes so far.

Underrated camera
I use this camera for indoor shots and despite mirrorless cameras having a reputation for being decent at best in low light, it does a pretty good job! Besides it's lightweight body, the 16-50mm kit lens is a good starter until you can buy some more glass. Lots of features like customizable menus, photo retouch, and an extremely fast autofocus. The only downsides: a short battery life and a long charge time. (Watson makes a good battery for $20.)

A great camera
I purchased this camera after a 5 month review of my own. It works just as advertised. This camera really shines if you will learn to operate in the full manual mode. I did use this on a recent wedding and also used my sony 16mm 2.8 e mount lens and the video was exceptional as well as my nikon 50mm 1.8 I also mounted my sony ea50 18-200mm and it works quite well for day or night time shots. My only complaint is that is does not have audio in.

Hunts a lot in Low Light. AF is not always accurate
This camera works really well in good bright light, however, in room light with one LED lamp in the middle of the room, the AF only works about 40% of the time, and 60% hunts and has a hard time focusing. I brought this camera to a club in NYC where they had a Halloween contest. I missed a lot of good shots on the stage because it took a long time for the camera to focus, and a lot of times it couldn't even focus. I am very very disappointed.

Great Pictures!
I needed a new camera to replace my Canon S3IS. Although I loved the Canon's super zoom, the pictures were always soft. I purchased this camera with the Sigma 30mm f/2.8 lens and all I can say is, wow! The sharpness, detail, and color is incredible. I love all of the manual features available, but even the full auto modes are really quite good. This is a fabulous camera if image quality is paramount, but you don't want to spend a fortune.
