This microphone was purchased for a PR company that does media training and stand up interviews. The long length and light weight are a big plus for hand held use and the mic performed admirably in it's first usage. Sound quality was geared towards speech and the sensitivity was very good. I am not sure how this mic would compare in specs to the RE50 by EV but since it costs less than 1/2 the price who cares! I am giving the mic 4 stars due to the omni pick-up pattern making it unsuitable for noisy location use. All in all a very good interview mic. ... More

Used this as a last minute replacement for one on one interviews in a convention center. Loud and noisy. The mic picked up everything uni-directional and even some off mic conversation which worked great when interviewing a group.

I use the VP-64A for ENG field reporting & there is no other mic for the money that performs as well, I have used this microphone in the pits at Bathurst, Australia's premier V8 supercar race and the sound quality is amazing even in this extreme noise environment.

The product is used to conduct interviews. The freelancers and contractors love to use it because the weight of it is not to much and does the same job if not better.

I'm an event videographer and I purchased this mic to accompany my sony z1u for on-the-spot interviews. While music/noise is blaring in the background, this little mic will pick up voices for my interviews beautifully. Never have I been so happy with a mic's performance.

I ordered this mic because it was a shure and it was the cheapest I could find. I assumed when I ordered it that it would be a good little mic that I will need to upgrade as soon as possible. I was blown away after making a few recordings and playing back the sound. I have used the mic for over a month and I am extremely satisfied. I have received a few compliments on the sound quality. I plug it directly into my handy cam and it works great for that.

I've used this mic for interviews and the sound has been flawless. My son and his band also used it to record their music and were thrilled with the results. A good product at a reasonable price.

If you get in the habit of using an OMNIDIRECTIONAL mic for handheld interviews, you will eventually realize that many, many interviews are saved from the awful off-mic level dropout that very often occurs wirh any handheld cardiod or unidirectional style mic.

A SUPER AFFORDABLE workhorse dynamic handheld hosting mic. I took this mic to Texas thru the week leading up to Super Bowl XLV, and it held its own thru lots of super loud situations. Great simple dynamic mic, at a great price that makes you almost never need or want to upgrade.

It is indeed a very good product, the only negative that I find is that the cable plug fits a little loose. I guess is normal, but it makes me think it will disconect at any time.

Worth the price , deffinitly helped me with the interviews I would want to do through out the partys I film , it concentrated only on the voice talking to the mic , letting backround noise stay behind

Pastor loves being freed from his lapel mic. This microphone is attached to the pulpit on a goose neck. Even when Pastor stands on the edge of the platform, the VP64AL still picks up his signal. Thank you for a great mic!

I use this straight into my Nikon D7000 for interviews on a noisy tradeshow floor. It performed very well, with excellent voice quality and ability to block out ambient sound due to its pattern.
