Works great

Jul 25, 2012

I use this mainly with a follow focus setup. Most of my work is studio based interviews so its pretty much invaluable for me. What more can i really say about a piece like this. it works and i love having the capability to put other arms and accessories into the 1/4 thread holes. if you use red rock and need to mount your rig to a tripod its a no brainer. Also, in NYC we had to rent one for a job at $50 and it was $100 to messenger it, so for a few $ more after ONE JOB you could own it.

It works

I paired this with a Jag35 rig so I can go from shoulder shooting to tripod shooting as fast as possible. On the downside the Jag35 rails didn't insert smoothly in one of the two rail holes. I had to force the rail in, and the Jag35 offset rail riser didn't fit with it the way I wanted, but that's what you get for mixing rail systems.

Cheese plate for a breeze work

Mar 13, 2011

Fit it to the rig or your Zoom H4N audio or Switronix PowerBase 70 Battery. Take off the clamp; I can use the cheese plate to my Steadicam for additional space. Turn it upside down on the back of the Redrock Micro DSLR Rig; it can be used as a counterweight holder. It's multipurpose for a piece of plate.

Good Tripod adapter for DSLR

Jan 25, 2011

So far I really like this as a quick way to switch between handheld mode (with a redrock micro captain stubling) and tripod/monopod mode (with the dslr tripod platform). It's solid, and the cheeseplate bottom gives me options for mounting so I can keep the camera balanced on the fluid head.

Makes it so much easier

Sep 15, 2011

Having this piece with the Captain Stubling makes going from hand-held to stationary so much easier. Without it, there was so much extra time wasted removing parts and a disconnect with the customer. How did do it without it.

Must Have

Feb 13, 2011

This product is very important to have if have a Redrock rig or some kind of rails that will fit. I am very glad I got this product, because without, its extremely hard to mount the rails to a tripod.

Great for moving from tripod to handheld

Nov 18, 2011

The DSLR Tripod Platform lives on my Redrock Micro manCam rig -- my tripod baseplate attaches to the bottom of the DSLR Tripod Platform, which allows for fast tripod-to-handheld and vice versa ops.

Excellent for steadicam

It's a build-a-rig item that you'll need some other gear for, but it certainly makes weight distribution and balancing MUCH faster. You'll have to find other pieces depending on what's in your kit.

A must have for the Redrock DSLR rigs

Mar 24, 2011

Like most Redrock gear this is expensive, but a must have item if you want to move quickly from handheld using the eyeSpy rig to mounting on a tripod.

Have the shoulder rig, offset rail and follow focus, this is perfect for slapping your camera on and off tripod/slider/shoulder rig/etc.

A must-have

Using with my Canon 5D MIII and Redrock shoulder rig. Works great for quickly removing from shoulder setup to slapping ontop of tripod.

Solid as a rock

Like just about everything from RedRock Micro, this plate is solid, aircraft-grade construction. Works as advertised, worth the price.
