Sorry Canon, but you have been replaced!
I never thought I would make the switch from Canon, but after a month of using the GH4, I'm hooked. For video this thing rocks, so much room to manipulate in post it's insane. A wide shot can now be a closeup, with no loss of image quality. @

Love this Camera!
I am a professional wedding filmmaker. I use this camera professionally for video production and it's an amazing tool! With all the new features, 4K, Variable frame rate, zebra, peaking, swivel screen and it's amazing image quality, it's a no brainier. Our main cameras are Canon 5DMK3's and they are amazing tools, but the GH4, just brings additional production value to our current tool set. The only thing I am getting accustomed too is having to reset settings when the camera shuts off, that is the only con that I have with the camera. It turns on quickly and has many advantages!

Great 4K Video and Pix Camera
This camera is an affordable 4K video camera that also shoots great pictures. I know now I can take cutting edge 4K video of my family. But it is also easy to take 1080 videos. Also, for regular pictures it has focus peaking so you could use other 4/3 lenses that don't have autofocus but you can still quickly focus with the focus peaking. I also like the wifi which allows me to control the camera with my iPhone and also transfer pictures to the i... Show More

Excellent camera for amy purposes
I think this is a great, general use camera, with the most intelligent system for changing parameters that I have seen. Almost everything can be accessed from a button, without having to use the menu system.

Flash issues
I had this camera for two months and loved it. Until I decided to take pictures last weekend for a wedding. At dark setting, while on manual mode the flash fired even when it was at close position and emitting a terrible burning smell. I tried switching to electronic shutter and the problem goes away. But as soon I go back to mechanical shutter, the problems comes back. It's unfortunate, I am no longer eligible for exchange since it's past 30 day... Show More

Worth the wait
I grew up using Nikon film SLRs and learned to shoot that way. I considered the GH3 when it came out but was discouraged by the quality of the electronic view finder, and a few other missing features. The GH4 is the answer to my urge for a hybrid camera with good features, image quality and compactness. Out of the box I like it a lot. Feels very good in the hand. The viewfinder is great, clear and easy to see (I wear glasses). Within a short peri... Show More

A Better Hybrid
Today I'm parting with two cameras that I love. The Lumix GH2 and GH3 are terrific cameras. They definitely produced impressive video and stills for me and my clients. I found them easy to use and great for travel. The GH4 has proven to expand on these strengths. My high speed manual prime lenses are now much easier to focus, the new WiFi app for the GH4 better controls video through my tablet, and the video footage is better than ever when I dow... Show More

Game changer or not, this is one amazing
I have used many Panasonic professional cameras. MII, first DVCpro 25 during Atlanta Olympic games in 1996, first P2 ENG cameras, HVX200, purchased HMX150 and HPX370. I rented a GH4 as a second camera to my HPX370. GH4 looked amazing. The quality coming out of this camera is pure nuts. After long research, I bought mine with Metabones speedbooster. I had Nikon lenses so I got MFT to Nikon. This camera is not a still camera that can shoot video.. ... Show More

A simply amazing camera.
After watching reviews from popular internet camera reviewers, I decided to sell off my Canon 6d and 60d to purchase this. The amount of options this camera offers is incredible; zebras, histogram, multitude of bit and frame rates. Great image manipulation options. I love this camera!

Great little video camera
Great video out of this thing, and can be adapted to all my Nikon glass with the Speedbooster fixing one of its downside (tiny sensor) its only other major issue is it has a micro HDMI port!!! Love this camera, the build and video quality are wonderful! I do not think I will ever use it for still photography over my FX Nikons but I did look at some Panasonic lenses and they seem really over priced (same cost as full frame lenses but making a MUCH... Love it!
I'm a professional videographer. I got the GH4 for 4k. Last year I bought the GH3 for wedding videos so I could use my Lumix lenses. I was not looking forward to upgrading so soom from the GH3 to the GH4, but the few enhancements made me very happy. Most importantly the Zebra. I haven't used the 4k yet, but will say this is a very good camera for videographers.

Canon Killer
I use this for video and actually haven't shot a single still with it yet. I assume the stills are good, but I bought it for the video capabilities. This camera is beyond a pleasure to shoot with. Finally, someone offered something that forces me to upgrade. Canon has been teasing something significant for years and still hasn't delivered. The cinema 4k is incredible. With the right settings you can shoot footage that no one would ever guess was sh... Show More

GH4 is a keeper
After my first week using the GH4, I can admit that I am a very happy customer. I am a videographer in the action sports industry, primarily skateboarding and surfing. I am using my GH4 with a Metabones Speed Booster to mount my quiver of Nikon lenses. The combination has surpassed my expectations, my 50mm paired with the Speed Booster is a dream! I absolutely love the 96fps at 1080p, the results are beautiful. The photo styles offer a variety of... Show More

Amazing Video
The versatility of this camera is amazing. 96fps and cinema 4k on a camera this size makes me wonder everytime I edit the footage. I primarily use the lumix G 12-35mm and for events/green screen/business commercials thats all I really need. Get it!

Not Exactly Flawless
If you're in the market for 4K less the cost of a 5DMKIII, this is the camera for you. Yes the sensor size means you have to deal with crop factor, but some savvy shopping can net you the same quality lens at fraction the price. I am using the Rokinon Cinema line with a metabones speed booster, and I don't feel like I'm missing anything here.

So far so great.
It's defiantly a great upgrade from the GH3 in all aspects. I know it's been between the GH4 and the A7s, but I'm liking the GH4 better. If you need low light then get the A7s.

A fast photo camera with superb video
I upgraded from the LUMIX GH3. I am not a professional; I would call me an advanced amateur. I use my camera for family and for trips mostly. I am becoming more interested in making video stories. This GH4 is unexpectedly very fast with photos and the quality images are impressive comparing with GH3. I like the Peaking and zebras. I love to use legacy lenses with manual focusing and peaking is awesome. The 4K video is amazing but this is well known how far ahead of cameras in this price range is the GH4. I am very happy with this camera.

Love Love Love
The GH4 is fantastic. As a legacy user of the GH1, GH2, and GH3, I am very please with the amount of updates and design items included. Cleaner at higher ISOs than the previous cams and works seamlessly with the MFT lenses and GH3 accessories. The frame burst in RAW is insane! If you have a fast SD card, it will seemingly shoot nonstop exposures. Still much lighter than a full frame camera so the all day work environments are not too demanding. Thumbs Up!

great compact camera with stunning 4k video, at this price it can't be beat! Battery lasted all day on my last shoot too.

Awesome!
This camera rocks and I've been loving it so far. I use it mostly for the 4K video and have not been disappointed at all. The functions and button locations took some slight adjustment to get used to as I was coming from a Canon 5DmII, but it's been a pretty smooth transition. The footage looks very clean all the way up to 1600 ISO and it does surprisingly well in low light. I love the video mode display feature. For the price, you really can't beat it. This thing rocks.

Amazing camera, amazing price!
After shooting with Canon DSLRs for years, I decided to take my first step in the 4K transition with the Gh4. I couldn't be happier. Not only do I get 4K resolution in camera, I get all the camcorder functionality I kissed goodbye when started using DSLRs. Headphone jack, level meters, focus peaking, high frame rate at 1080p... the list goes on. I'm new to the micro four thirds world, but I'm really liking it. Panasonic lenses are small and sharp... Love this camera!!
I have been a m43 user since I bought my first GH1 in July 2010. I own two GH1s, one GH3 and now a GH4. There has always been an obvious video quality compromise when I shot with my hacked GH1 and my GH3. The GH3 is an excellent hybrid camera, but the GH4 is a true professional video capture device. I'm completely blown away by how easy it is to capture high IQ video.

Best combination video / stills camera
The video quality is amazing even at 1080p, and the high frame rate, slow motion feature is awesome. It is easy to use if you are used to using a DSLR. I am just learning to use things like peaking and zebras, which are really useful. Also, it is much easier to get good audio. You don't need a pre-amp like a DSLR. Just plug in a good external microphone and adjust the audio levels in camera. So much easier than DSLRs. The quality of the photos is better than my Canon 7D. The autofocus is better than my Fuji-XT1.
