Excellent Physical and Audio Quality for the Money
We love our Polsen Studio Monitor Headphones and for the money it seems hard to find any complaints. For the purpose of convenient, inexpensive and comfortable headphones with decent sound quality that does not over-emphasize any particular frequencies, these hit the mark. Our pair seem to accurately depict what were hearing in the real-world as compared to ear buds which seem to over-emphasize bass and generally color the audio to impress the li... Show More

Good value when discounted
I got these on sale at 14.99, I also own the Behringer HPS3000, which I got for 19.99(now 18.99). This review will compare the 2, since I'm sure many will look at both at some point. At full price(29.99) the Behringer is cheaper and more comfortable. The comfort factor is probably a matter of perspective, the Behringer has softer cups and has a smaller fitment over the head, so more suitable for smaller heads. The Polson is a snug fit for me at ... Show More

Not my favorite pair of headphones
I know these are cheap headphones but I expected more because I have a cheaper set of Sony headphones that my kids use on their music keyboard that works better than this. I'm not a great audiophile to describe why these don't sound great but I just know they don't sound great. They also are not very comfortable to wear. If it were easy to return them I would've. I use them for podcasting and they are the set for the guest and not the host or the... Show More

Very Good but. .
I had never heard of Polsen headphones. It is well made and sounds good. Good bass response and good sound isolation. The only complaint I have about these headphones is that after wearing it for about 1 headphones became uncomfortable. Perhaps it was an unfair assessment because I was using it during a recording session. After about two hours my ears hurt from the pressure of the earpads. The sound quality is very good. I was pleasantly surprise... Show More

Works as expected
I just purchased a couple of these to use for monitoring camcorders, and have used one twice. It performed as expected. The camcorder audio was quite loud and clear, without distortion. They are not what I would consider studio quality, but for the price, to just monitor the camcorder audio, they were just fine. The single wire cord is a plus. The cord's extra long nine foot length, which I prefer, can be a plus too, but it might be considered a ... Show More

Amazingly good headphones for the price...great value!
These are very lightweight but not flimsy and seem nicely constructed. They come with a 3.5mm to phono-jack adapter which is a nice touch. The audio from these is very flat but realistic. They dont over-emphasize the bass which may indicate a lower-than-desired bass driver but I personally think theyre portraying an accurate audio rendering. The foam ear surrounds are a nice feel and the foam on the head strap is just right. These dont feel heavy and almost become invisible as well as they fold nicely. Overall, nice feel. Amazing value for the money when on-sale at B&H Photo.

Worked well on airplane; good value.
Wow. For the price this is a good value. I just returned from an overseas flight with this item. After trying the headphones--not ear buds--they provided in "Premium Economy", I then used these. A world of difference. With the airline's headphones and the volume up enough to hear, I could barely understand what the actors in the movie were saying. With the Polsen headphones, I could easily understand them with the volume much lower. They also fold up to take up relatively little space. Go Polsen!--whoever you are! I'd never heard of you.

Good sound for the price!
I got these for free with a Blue mic purchase and so I can't complain too much. But I was actually surprised by the sound. It is rich and full and is good for it's price point. The big con of these I would say is the comfort. They get a bit uncomfortable after a bit of wearing and all around just don't have that light feel you get from other headsets in this category. Also they don't completely surround the ears which I don't like. But all in all not too bad a pair of headphones for the price.

Sounds as good as more expensive phones.
I tried a whole bunch of studio style headphones in the $ price range, and picked these for the sound and price. I am using them as extra headphones in my studio when I have larger groups of people. The sound is pretty good, and reasonable accurate. They're not my $ AKG's but I like them better than the Audio Technica ATH-M30,Id say they sound as good as the M-40's, maybe not quite as comfortable.I could not find a better sounding headphone at this price, and I tried a bunch.

Excellent value for money.......
First let me say the B&H item price was very good and the shipping was very reasonable. International delivery of 9,000 miles while not the fastest on the planet was well within acceptable limits for Christmas time of year. The phones are well constructed, easily as good as my old Roland studio phones, and deliver a wide range of frequency responses. I find them comfortable to wear and am very satisfied all round with the item quality and level of service from B&H.

Closed-Back Studio Monitor Headphones by
I'm learning the ropes about studio recording and head phones are a must. We use it to listen to an existing track and play or sing to lay down another track. They are comfortable to wear, have pretty decent sound reproduction, and, as a package deal, was a great buy. Since I'm still learning I have no need for top-of-the-line equipment. Wireless would have been nicer since you don't have to fight with all the cables. For our purposes this is a good selection.

Bad connection right out of the box
Opened them and plugged them in. Immediate, major static with the slightest move of the cable near the jack. If I held it just right, static went away and I could hear that the sound was overly thin and tinny even for monitors. (And I know what decent monitor headphones should sound like.) So, I knew it was a risk for a Black Friday special. They were so cheap, it was not worth effort to return them. Just tossed them in the garbage and learned my lesson.

Not Even Average
Terrible sound reproduction. At this price range your expectations are not too high, I get it. But this headphones not even get closer to average. Whether is the high or mid frequencies, the sound lack quality on any type of music you listened. The bass frequency, don't even go there. At this price range you better go with the Tascam TH-MX32. Way Better sound than this. B&H service outstanding. The best.

They work but sound awful
Bought for $15 on a daily deal, the 1st pair had a bad connector and were exchanged, the 2nd pair are so treble heavy they actually made me lower the volume levels on any device I use them on. There is very little low freq. response. These are not headphones worth $15, but, its too expensive to return them. B&H should not be selling this product. I just lost a lot of faith in B&H.

These Headphones Really Hurt My Ears!
I use these headphones for video editing and several times through the session I have to remove them just to let my ears stop hurting. They are so painful and stiff and the head part sits way too high over my head rather than resting gently on top of my head. These are horrible. The sound is okay but they are too uncomfortable to really care about sound quality.

For People With BIG Heads ONLY
Used for Voice Over work. These headphones gave good quality sound feedback but were very heavy (despite the claim they only weigh 6.5 oz.) and too big for my head. They expanded a ton, but did not collapse enough to fit comfortably around my head. As comfortable as the ear pads looked, they did not fit well and left me wanting to keep removing them.

Polsen HPC A30 Headphones
I bought the headphones to use with my CC. They work well but seem to be a little tight or I have a larger head then normal... Also after wearing them for 30 mins or more the start hurting my ears. I do like the extra long 9 ft cord. And the sound is pretty good for a cheaper headset. All a side for the money there not bad.

Great seal on this Headphone!
The seal on this unit is very good, I have only one concern, the loudness of the unit itself. Sounds a bit harsh and can fool you into believing the signal is hotter than it actually is; check your meters before backing off the gain, and reduce the headphone amp instead! Great build so far for me otherwise.

Excellent product.
For typical headphone listening, these headphones are fantastic. Crystal clear highs, strong, deep lows and crisp mid-range frequencies rank these headphones among the best I've heard. The long cable allows for studio use as well. All in all, excellent product, especially for the price. Highly recommended.

Sizing issues
I don't think of myself as having an unusually small head. I wear small to mediums in bike and motorcycle helmets but could not get the these to sit properly on my head. They sounded nice I guess, I couldn't really use them enough to tell. Ultimately, they're going back for something that adjusts smaller.

Pretty Good for Price
They were a little big for my head and if there's a way to adjust them then I'm having a difficult time finding it. The sound is good (when used with a Macbook Pro), and the multiple size jacks are really great. I bought these on sale, and they work very well for the price I paid.

Good sound, but too large.
I use this for work, but also to listen to music when doing more tedious tasks. I like the sound quality and the comfort is pretty good. Unfortunately, they are pretty large without expanding, and so are a bit big. They rest a little too low on my ears.

Solid headphone for studio or field work.
Good headphones and comfortable to wear over long time periods. I needed to replace a worn out set of headphones to use in the studio and the field, very pleased with the HPC-A30 fit and performance. Liked them so much I am going to get some for home.
