A great super telephoto lens at a great price
I purchased this lens to use for sports photography, bird photography, and Astro photography. The lens is extremely sharp at 75mm, and still sharp st 300mm. I have not been one to critique the edges of photographs for sharpness, but the center of the picture has always produced very nice results. Happy Hubby - Just the Right Lens
My husband's birthday gave me the perfect opportunity to purchase this for him. He's an incredibly talented photographer and told me that this lens will really help him to get up close in shots of entertainers (with permission of course), events, celebrities, social activism, etc. The lens has a soft touch, easy to use, and is lightweight (which is important when you are carrying multiple cameras). The only thing we can mention is that we wish a lens filter had been included in the package.

Perfect. It was exactly what I wanted and it works perfect.
I wasn't sure it would fit my camera, that the autofocus would work right, etc., but everything works and it is exactly the addition I wanted for my camera. The B&H service was also excellent and hassle free as per usual.

Great Range!
I love the range. I purchased to take on a trip to India to Rathambore tiger preserve next month. Leaving my big Canon guns home. In my testing around home I got plenty of sharp bird photos. I have a Canon 800mm L IS and a Canon 500mm f4L Is . Good technique and experience shooting long lenses takes time. Because of its size you may be tempted to forego tripods and the required shutter speed and ISO in order to have good results. This can have disastrous consequences. For repeatable and good percentage shots you MUST observe the rules

Good image quality
I purchased this lens for use on my Olympus E-M5 II and had the opportunity this past weekend to photograph a surfing contest with it. Although a little slow, the image quality is very good and it was nice to be using a lens with a 35mm equivalent 600 mm reach. I'm looking forward to using it to photograph wildlife. My only gripe is that Olympus doesn't supply a lens hood, so it had to be purchased separately. Overall, though, I'm very pleased with this lens.

A big surprise!
Coming from the Canon 5D Mark III and several L lenses (including the excellent 70-200L f2.8 Mark II and 70-300L), I had very modest expectations of this lens. Bought this lens as I heard this will be best fit for olympus camera compared to lumix 100-300mm. Lighter and cheap and has similar image quality. The lens has good reach and works well with good light (600mm) and with olympus em5 mark ii, 5 axis stabilization I got good sharp handheld results upto 1/120 when shooting at 600mm focal length which is impressive. Have had experience with 3 other OM lenses with mixed results but this one is by far the sharpest. Except for the long zoom range it would be my go-to lens. Surprised it did not come with a lens hood.

Affordable Stopgap Until Olympus 300mm f/4.0 PRO is Available
I bought this lens a few months ago, mainly to see what I could do with a supertelephoto focal length and anticipate whether or not I'd want the Olympus 300mm f/4.0 PRO when it becomes available. light lens with a great reach
So being a Canon DSLR guy, when I want long distance reach, it means heavy glass. I'm shooting this lens on the Oly OMD EM5 MkII and the combination is very light. Image quality is very good throughout the range. I've not experienced any focus hunting yet, and this is a pet peeve of mine which means I'll probably return the lens. The lens is slow, but combined with the internal IS of the Oly makes it a good combination. Cons: every lens should come with a container and a hood. One doesn't get that here.

Nice handling long zoom lens for micro four thirds
In an effort to go smaller and lighter and improve image stabilization, I recently replaced my Olympus OMD-EM1 with an Olympus OMD-EM5II. At the same time, I replaced a number of lenses, including the Panasonic Lumix 100-300mm f/4.0-5.6 with the M. Zuiko ED 75-300mm f/4.8-6.7 II. I find the M. Great Reach in a compact lens
Although I have had this lens for only a short time I've been impressed with the image quality. But as others have stated you need good light. And as with any long lens it will yield the best results on a tripod. You can get good images handheld, but it takes practice. Don't expect great handheld shots in low light with slow shutter speeds. But this could be said with any long zoom.

Great Lens for Sports (Little League) photography
i got this lens to use on my OM-D E-5. I tried using my 70-200 f2.8 lens with the 4/3to Micro 4/3 adapter. I found to be too heavy and felt that it might damage the lens mount on the camera. So far,so good!
Quality looks sharp. As it's slow, I do thank technology that allows me to kick up film speed to assist with shutter speeds. For a lense with this range vs the cost, find me something comparable. All in all, it's a winner!

Good Lens for wildlife
Needed a 300mm reach to enable me to convert to micro 4/3 system and this does the trick. Am able to get the same reach with it as I had with my DSLR and a 400mm zoom. Like to photograph birds and other wildlife. Also this lens is much lighter in weight than the 400mm zoom for my DSLR.

Does what it should
Love the sharpness of the distant photos, capturing things otherwise unseen and keeping them sharp even when enlarged and cropped. Love that is light enough for this old lady to use.

Have used this on my OM D10. Very impressed with the images, as well as image stabilization. Worked great in low light and slow shutter speeds. Great walk around lens for the nature photographer when you don't want to lug the big stuff on informal walks. Love it for walks in the park.

Good in bright sunlight.
This lens produces good images when used in bright sunlight to allow shutter speeds fast enough to match the focal length. In less than bright sunlight, and at longer focal lengths, a good tripod is necessary. No surprises. The lens is what it's expected to be and I'm happy with it.

Great Product
I just got a few test shots done with this lens. It's long reach (300*2(E-M5 factor)) brings subjects close! I was hand holding even for the 300mm shots(daylight) and they looked good! Even my wife thought so!! It has some heft but for a lens like this you would expect this.

Very good super zoom
For Olympus m4/3 this is a great option. If better lenses are made in the future you can expect to pay 2 to 4 times as much and the will weigh 4 times as much too. Excellent for a hobbyist.

amazing lens!
Like I said in other review OLYMPUS ARE PATHETIC not including the hood with the lenses, just plain stupid. For God sake just add it up to the price and don't make people think that you are just a crummy Photographic company.... The lens is fantastic though, just incredible IQ Just use it with fast enough speeds and handheld is perfect. I wanted a Tamron 150-600 for my Nikon D-800, 2 kg weight, double the price. This lens does the job and won't have to wait till year 2020 for Tamron to release the other one. Very happy with it.
