Aug 18, 2015

This is touted as a vacation lens and the name suits. Construction is very solid and I'm confident it will pass the splash test as everything fits snugly. Zoom action is a little stiff as you would think if there is weather proofing gasketing. Manual focus is very smooth. Size and weight balance nicely with the Panasonic GX7 and I'll likely pick up the GX8 to complement the weather resistance and get a few more pixels. This lens will stand up to ... Show More

A good walking-around lens

Aug 11, 2016

When I bought my E-M5 II, I wanted the maximum resolution the system could give so I bought the PRO line of lenses, and the resolution of these lenses was excellent. However, I found that taking the camera with me on a day-to-day basis meant either being confined to a relatively narrower zoom range, or carrying a heavy bag of gear. So I decided to try the Zuiko ED 14-150 mm f/4-5.6 lens, being fully prepared to return it if it wasn't good enough.... Show More

Great walk around / travel lens

May 14, 2018

I have both an EM1 MK2 and EM5 MK2. I have to say in the beginning of this review that I have numerous Olympus M.Zuiko Pro lens and have used them for several years now. Does this lens measure up to the Pro series, no not really and it can't. The glass and build quality are not at that level. But at this price point, it is a great compromise. The 14mm to 150mm range is great for travel when carrying multiple lens is not an option. The weather pro... Show More

Sharp, small, and light weight all in one

Feb 5, 2016

Considering this lens falls into the all in one lens category, this is an excellent lens. Solid construction for this type of lens. I purchased this lens for my E-M5ll. I already have the 12-40 2.8 Pro and the 40-150 2.8 Pro and both are outstanding lenses and this lens exceeded my expectations for an all in one. Wide open it has excellent center sharpness and contrast at all focal lengths with corners being slightly soft. Stopping down improves ... Show More

Olympus 14-150 Lens

Nov 2, 2017

I was looking for an Olympus Lens to replace the 14 -40 mm and 40 -150 mm lenses that came with my camera kit. I wanted a single lens for travel that was compact, good quality, produced sharp images, and was reasonably priced. Changing lenses on the smaller body of the Olympus mirrorless camera was awkward, especially having to remove and store the rear lens caps. You were almost guaranteed to lose one or both of the caps during the process. I de... Show More

Great Lens for the Price

Oct 25, 2016

First I want to mention that I have both the 12-40 f2.8 & 40-150 f2.8 & these are truly superb lenses but in some circumstances more than you want to take with you. I did a shoot on Sat with the 14-150 on a ship where I needed to be very mobile & would be climbing ships ladders & walking through narrow passageways. This lens was a pleasure to use & the results were excellent. To clarify I was not shooting in natural light for the most part & I ha... Show More

Nearly perfect one lens solution

Aug 25, 2015

I bought this lens to use on my Panasonic GX7. While I'd strongly prefer that the wide end be a 24mm equivalent, there isn't a better option at this size. I own mirrorless cameras for their portability and quality and the ED 14-150mm II is near perfect as a one lens solution for micro four thirds. Very sharp up to 150mm and smooth in operation. The zoom direction is the opposite rotation than every other zoom lens I own, which is a minor annoyanc... Show More

Loved it - until it died

Aug 29, 2015

- I have had the lens for approximately 1.5 years in addition to two other olympus lenses- I loved it - I mostly used it for scenery and wildlife. It was excellent in the middle of the focal range and ok on either end- it is Super light weight (and I mean super light)- my problem is that it died - right between shots. It was working just fine, taking a picture and the next shot it didn't work. All of my other (olympus) lenses still work (so it's ... Show More

Excellent Walk-Around Lens

May 18, 2016

The M.Zuiko ED 14-150mm f/4-5.6 II lens is an excellent walk around lens for hiking, kayaking, & travel because of its small size, light weight, and broad zoom range. Its weather sealing makes it ideal for kayaking and taking photos in inclement weather. Its lens hood does a good job of protecting the lens from both sun and mist & spray. This lens paired with my OM-D E-M5 and its 5-axis stabilization along with the ability to boost the ISO a bit,... Show More

A quality lens for everyday use

Mar 6, 2017

It is worth every penny! It is a nearly perfect match for my OM-D EM-5. The lens is practically all metal and very, very solidly built. With an equivalent focal length of 28 to 300 mm in 35mm parlance, the lens can cover nearly all the needs of the average photographer. Optically it is very sharp in the wide-angle and normal range but quite less in the telephoto ranges, especially in the 200 to 300mm range. Some lateral color is evident in the te... Show More

Great lens for the price. Very good lens otherwise.

Aug 31, 2017

I bought the 14-150 Oly for travel purposes. I really didn't want to have to carry a complement of lenses for my Panasonic G85. This lens had the range I wanted and is weather resistant which the similar Panasonic lens was not. The lens is very light compared to the 35-105 lens I used on my Canon AE-1 for many years. It operates smoothly and quietly. I find the clarity excellent even at long and short focal lengths. I would have given this 5 star... Show More

Very good general purpose lens

Aug 10, 2015

I bought this for my wife's OM-D E-M5 to replace Lumix 14-140 II, that got dipped in the ocean. Comparing this with Lumix 14-140 II lens (when used on E-M5), I find the IQ of 14-150 lens better. The 20g difference in weight is not noticeable. It is slightly longer, but looks a bit less bulky with E-M5. I see no fringing whatsoever, unlike with Lumix lens. The sharpness is very good, surprisingly good at 150mm. Autofocus is very fast and seems mor... Show More

Great Travel and Walkaround Lens

Sep 9, 2015

For travel, everyday, and goof-off shooting, I typically carry a do-it-all lens and a fast normal for low light. Most of my shooting is outdoors (so good light) between 17-70mm (35-140 35mm equivalent) stopped down 1-2 stops at the lowest ISO I can. So far, I'm very pleased with the images from this lens under those conditions. Seems sharp across that range. There is some light fall-off in the corners shot wide open, but that rapidly diminishes a... Show More

So, so much better

Sep 2, 2016

Two months ago, I turned in my heavy Nikon gear, faithful friends for years, and swapped for an Oly e-m5 II. This was the lens I chose for its range and weatherproofing. I love it! I have taken over 500 photos since then and couldn't be happier. It's sharper and faster and captures more detail close up than my Nikon. I shot a rose and caught a bee in flight. I can see the veins in the wings and the pollen on its legs! This is a great walk about l... Show More

Good Walking Around Lens

I bought this lens to give me a little more reach than my 14-40 pro lens, which stays on my camera most of the time. I have not had the lens very long, and sometimes B&H asks for reviews before we have had the opportunity to use the equipment very much, but what I have seen so far is excellent. The lens seems solid, smooth operating, and capable of providing the close zoom quality I wanted. I have been so pleased with the image stabilization on t... Show More

Way better than my old 60D + Tamron 18-270mm Setup

May 6, 2015

I spent some time comparing this lens combined with the e-m5 mark ii with my previous setup of a Canon 60D with Tamron 18-270mm Lens. I was amazed to find that the zoom range was very similar - with the added bonus of the 4:3 sensor on the Mark II giving more vertical FOV. The lens is fast, light with the range I need. The only issues I have - The rotation of the lens is in the opposite direction to my old lens. I'll get used to it, but a little ... Show More

Perfect for Travelling

I use this lens with my Olympus OMD EM10. Last summer in Glacier National Park I was going back and forth between shooting landscapes versus wild life with the 12- 40 and the 40 to 150 lenses, and missing some shots. I heard about the forthcoming 14 to 150 len. It has a very professional feel and the photos seem very good and sharp from out to 125mm. More important perhaps, it handles well and body+lens+strap comes in at less than a 1 lb 10 oz. I... Show More

Better than expected

Oct 3, 2019

It's an all-in-one, 'super' zoom. How good can it be? Much better than I expected. Nice sharp contrasty images at most apertures and lengths. It can show a bit of distortion at the extremes and the long end is the least sharp when wide open, but still usable. Not as good as the Olympus primes at the corresponding lengths, of course, but not as far away as you might expect for a lens of this type. Others have suggested the durability is dubious. I... I'm no pro photographer. I bought this lens because it covered a wide focal length and I am not a fan of carrying a backpack full of photo gear around, having to swap out lenses every three seconds to get different kinds of shots. Obviously it's no pro lens but I think it does the trick. Going to be bringing it to Europe next month and it will be nice to have just one do it all lens. I wanted a versatile lens to go with my OM D EM5 markII and was willing to wait for the mark II version to be released. I've used this lens to take almost every shot I can think of from almost macro to sunrise. it does everything fairly well. I already have the original version of this lens which I love. Problem is, I have the Olympus E-M1 which is weather-sealed and that pushed me to use the Oly 12-40 Pro lens in trying conditions. I bought this new lens so that I don't have to worry about the weather. Only went out one time so far with it (and it did rain) and find the performance as good or better than the original. This is a great lens and now we finally have one that has the kind of build quality that makes you comfortable when you take this into the field. Sep 7, 2015

Great IQ.After reading negative comments about this type of zoom, I thought it would be a compromise re sharpness and color rendition. I sold 3 lenses with the same range because at 82 years old I did no longer wish to carry a camera bag and juggle lenses. In the short time I have had it I am very happy with the photos it produces on my Oly EM-10, and feel confident that I can use it in a variety of situations except low light. I have a Pany f/1.4 for that. So I guess we could say it is the perfect light weight combo for seniors and any one seeking good results without the pro prices.
