A Good Mix of Comfort and Sound Quality
Primarily used with an iPod 160 while listening to heavy metal (mostly), original soundtracks/scores, classical music and rock. The design is old-fashioned, but still looks nice. Very comfortable cushions, especially around the ears. Cord is rather long and feels half as heavy as the headset itself, but looks very well built. One word: awesome
These headphones produce crystal clear sound over an incredible range. Light weight, comfortable and fold compactly. I would be hard pressed to imagine better headphones at this price. I can't think of a single con.

Excellent headphones for students!
The MDR-V6s are lightweight with fantastic studio sound. The bass is also fantastic and will undoubtedly satisfy any moderate bass lover. These headphones are worth every dollar!

Great Headphones for any price
I am a composer and producer, so having a great pair of headphones is important to my work and also for just listening for pleasure. These Sony headphones are a great addition to any studio setup. And they make your Ipod or IPhone one hundred times better. There is a nice range of bass and treble, and I find them to be very pleasing and accurate. And they fold nicely in the bag for storage and transporting.

Great Product
Quality built. Excellent sound quality. I personally love the long cable. It makes my live so much easier when for some reason my zoom h4 recorder has to be placed away from the camera.

Not perfect, but good.
I use these for Holosync Meditation CD's. They were tight at first but I gently bent the top and that fixed the problem. I went with the upgraded ear pads and am glad I did.

Great headphones
I owned this same model of headphones in the late 1980s. They stood head and shoulders above the rest in their price range at the time. I wish I still had those headphones, because I'd like to compare them to the new ones I recently bought. When I listen to the new ones, they seem somewhat flat compared to what I remember. Great with iPad
Read previous reviews. Using primarily to listen to music loaded on iPad and works well for that. Good bass. Fits my head well. More comfortable than ear buds for me. Thought cord might be too long, but have found it's OK. like storage pouch. Pleased with my purchase. Looking forward to using this on trip in airports/on planes next month. B&H great as usual for price, ... etc.

A Great Product
These are great headphones! Ive been in video production for while now, and all of the best audio techs i've worked with swear by them. I have used these myself before purchasing and since acquiring its been smooth sailing. they take a beating and deliver great audio time and time again. They even cancel ambient noise, not greatly but just enough to help you hear that the audio you gathering is good.

Sony MDR7506 for a lot less
the only diff between these and the more expensive Sony MDR7506 is that the Sony MDR7506 have gold platting (who cares) and a sticker that says professional instead of digital......aka same exact headphone.

These are my favorite headphones I've ever owned! They sound great! I've read some reviews saying the only downside is that they can be uncomfortable, but they fit me perfect. Buy them, you won't regret it.

Comfort and wide range
These headphones are a very great value. I use them for personal monitoring for recording and playback off of my computer. The best part about it was that they are very comfortable. I wear glasses and most headphones out there cause a lot of ear fatigue and puts pressure on your temples. But, these are set up nicely to avoid the pain of wearing glasses with them. They've worked well for me
I'm a media and film student and needed good headphones for editing audio/film. These work wonderfully... though I'm not totally sure whether its because they actually are exceptional or because of my lack of experience with studio quality headphones. I've had them for a few months now and have had no problems but I have had concerns that maybe they aren't as solid/durable as they should be? not that they have actually broken just that the joints seem a little wobbly?

These have been great for on-set recording, audio post and basic music-listening. Provide a great range of sound and are probably the best you can get for the price.

Clean, Compact, Sounds GOOD
I use this headphone while editing and mixing. It does a greater job than it's cost. Ear pads are very comportable, I have no problem wearing avg of 3hrs. Although it is not a greatese headphone, it catches most of the pitches. If it is going to be used on studio for editing and mixing, then I highly recommend it!

Very Impressed
These headphones are really good, especially considering the price range. If you're kind of deciding whether or not to get them, I would definitely recommend buying them. There hasn't been a day yet were they haven't been on my head.

Sony MDR-V6 Studio Headphones
After owning a pair of these for over 20 years, it was time to order a new pair. I stepped on them and broke one of the ear pieces. However, It was time anyway. The new ones sound amazing. Even better then the old set. One of the best Headphones for your studio or everyday music.

very good value
For the money, this is a very good quality and comfortable headphones. I use it to hear music in its entirety. Music source is important as it does give a LOT of detail. Coil style cord is convenient. Beautiful packaging. I would like the foam to be a little more beefy because after extended use it sometimes irritates the rim of my ears. Good thing they are available to purchase. There may be better headphones out but for this price is a very good value.

Excellent sound for a fair price
I listen a lot to acoustic/instrumental music (i.e. Dolly Parton, Johnny Cash, The Cardigans) with not so heavy bass and these headphones gives me excellent sound for the fair price. Clear sound, you hear every sound perfect. Highly recommended.

MDR-V6 Headphones
I use these headphones for personal use like listening to music and also monitoring mixes and recording. These are great headphones. These are a favorite of some of the old-school media guys I know. They are so comfortable and they sound great. Wonderful value.

Amazing headphones
Flat response, great clarity and detail. Even when listening to CD, I can hear so much more detail. Bass is not muddy, and extremely clear, you can really hear the tone of the bass guitar body! Good Headphones, But not Great fit
These are some pretty great headphones. They have a very good sound, a little colored in the low end, but other wise very clean. The mids and highs are very clear and the lows are responsive and present. The only thing I don't like about these headphones is the fit. They fit very loose around my head. I had to push them up against my head to get a good fit. Other than the fit, these are very good headphones for the price.

Bottom line amazing headphones....
As soon as I saw the box I was impressed. ... very inviting. Especially with the gold box and red lining. When I opened the box and held the headphones I was very impressed with the build. And I plugged it into my soundboard and was blown away with the warm bass and awesome mid tones and highs. Definitely recommend this product!.
