Awesome
I use this lens for everything now on my NEX-7. It was a little pricey but I guess that is to be expected with the quality. I was a little hesitant but I'm super happy with my purchase now. I live in Hawaii, currently out in Colorado though taking some amazing pics and getting used to it before I head to Alaska soon. The lens is pretty heavy but doesn't affect my use. It takes great pictures, love this lens.

Best lens for NEX
This lens looks a little awkward on the NEX-5, but it actually feels very well balanced with the camera in use. Unfortunately, the camera/lens doesn't sit flat (the lens is diameter is larger than the height of the camera), but you'll want to have it in your hands anyway! Sharp, contrasty, and well built. It's bulky, but no more so than other zooms of similar range and it's better built than most.

VERY Impressed
I've been using this lens on a Sony NEX-5n for one year and I've only been more and more impressed with it the more I use it. Pros: - Incredible image stabilization at full zoom. - Very sturdy construction - Impressive image quality for an 18-200 lens. Cons: - Very heavy - Lens creep If you have a Sony NEX camera, this is the first lens you should buy. It does a lot and does it surprisingly well.

Great Addition to my NEX 7
Seems to be an excellent lens in my first couple of weeks with it. Very good built quality, reasonably fast focus and excellent photos. It is a bit large (diameter), especially on a NEX camera, but it is still smaller and lighter than the equivalent Nikon 18-200mm on my Nikon D7000 DSLR. This lens is now my standard walking around lens, and the combination with the NEX 7 is excellent.

Telephoto review
I just got this lens and haven't had too many opportunities to use it fully. I like the feel and build quality. The photos I've taken so far have been sharp and clear and have good color range. It'll take quite a bit more use to give a full review, which is why I've rated the lens a 4 star and not higher or lower, but I anticipate that the current rating is going to be on target.

This lens is the Bomb
I use this lens for documenting my missions trips to Ukraine. As we move in and out of vehicles and houses it was difficult to constantly change lenses and keep the dust out of everything. The lens provides superior imaging at both ends, but the auto focus is a bit uncertain at the long end. However, this is not a difficult impediment, and I recommend this lens to all NEX users!

Great lens (functionally and physically)
Great lens but huge. It seems disproportional. I still use the 18-55mm for most of the time because of the size, but the 18-200 has better pictures and because of the zoom ability, it really comes handy if you want to take zoom-in. Very versatile. I brought the camera for the size to begin with as I have to travel and take a lot of pictures. This lens is kind of heavy and big.

Foggie and slow
This lens came with my Sony NEX-FS100 and I never use it on that camera. It has fogged on me 3 times. This requires opening the front element and cleaning the inside of the front lens. Sony should have made this lens better for the elements. I gave it 3 stars because of the results I get when using it with my NEX-7. I love it for a photo lens, but not on my big video camera.

Great Product for Still Photography
I have beee using the lens with SONY NEX-5 camera. It grealty extends the shooting range as compared to the kit lens 18-55 and provides with a much better aperture opening in the range close to 55 mm (F/4 instead of F/6.3). It is easy to use and has solid design, although is a little bit heavy, but I did expect that. Silent and steady, it leaves a good impression behind.

One fantastic Lens
Even though i have only had the lens for a short period of time, I find the lens is great to use for action shots, close ups and every day shooting, i was even able to sneak in some good shots of my daughter without her realising i was near her with the camera. It's got great zoom and am looking forward to using it for more occassions - weddings, parties, travel etc.

An awesome action sports lens
I work as a ski resort videographer, and this is my go too lens for action. Admittedly, its not as crisp as its Cannon and Nikon counterparts, but its autofocus is superb and works great at 240fps. At its retail price, this lens is really a bargain for shooting fast action over a wide depth of field. I should add that this lens is somewhat fragile

great lens for a great camera
I love this camera system! This new lends will be the one I use most often, especially when traveling. The need to lighten the load of gear is critical and this system is ideal. The results are fantastic. The camera, with it's tilt screen, accepts lens changes easily and provides the complete range of possibilities as an SLR without the weight.

Awesome lense but heavy!
I really like this lens but do find it heavy to hang around your neck for any long period of time. It is nice to have the flexibility to zoom in or out from the 18-200mm. The lens does have a lock to stop it from accidentally coming out while it hangs around your neck, that is great! The price is pretty high but the picture quality is amazing!!

Reeks with quality...
This lens is sharp throughout all ranges. Really a great addition to the NEX-5 camera. Nice compliment to the 18-55mm kit lens. Solid construction and the zoom is smooth as silk. This lens is meant for outdoors as it obstructs the standard flash unit, for flash indoors I use the 18-55 kit lens. I highly recommend this 11.1x versatile lens.

super zoom, very good quality
I have used this lense to take pictures at my daughters ball game, before i couldn't get close enough to get her expressions. I really like that I didn't need an adaptor (extra cost) that I can use this one instead of the 55 mm lense my camera came with. The price is pretty steep, but compared to every other store it's about $150 less.

Super lens for super camera
A versatile lens for the flagship NEX camera. Effectively a 28mm lens equivalent it does a good job for most indoor work and of course with the steady shot facility works very well in the outdoors. One gripe, the lens and NEX7 inbuilt flash don't work below say 50mm for indoors. A huge smudge shows itself in the lower left corner.

Nice Lens With a Twist
This lens is nice when it works, but I had two that had a problem with zoom creep. This is where the zoom cylinder does not tightly hold the lens in place, allowing it to open up from its own weight while holding the camera (and lens) in a downward position. Otherwise, the lens creates nice sharp stills and very beautiful video.

BEST LENS I HAVE EVER OWNED!
... Very rare item to get a hold of, and of course B&H had it in stock when even Sony didn't!!! I sent $ on it and it was money well spent! Top quality product, see the reviews on the internet for this to see what I mean. Meade out of metal, the build quality is really pristine! Photo's and videos are out of this world good!

Nice for run and gun shooting
I intially bought the FS100 without the kit lens, then in hindsight bought the 18-200. While its a pretty slow lens and its a little soft, having the range and compatability with the camera is essential for the type of work I do. If you are doing documentary or run and gun shooting, I don't see a better option for now.

This is my best lens ever!
I love this lens! It may not be G glass but its a great bang for your buck. I'v used it from landscapes in Greece. To the eclipse in totality in Tennessee. Its a great over all lens and is my main lens for filming to. The focus is fast and the image is crisp. I wish it had a lower F-stop, but for $900 its just fine.

Great all rounder
The lens is built well, feels solid. It's a bit heavy but nothing too bad. Focus and zoom are very smooth, images are sharp (check out the DX0 mark on this lens, it's one of the sharper ones Sony makes). I'd highly recommend this over the kit lens in terms of image quality and overall versatility.

Expensive for mediocre results
Focus is slow, image lacks crispness for an $ lens. Focus by wire on this lens is overly sensitive, preventing effective follow focus. The effective (APS-C) focal length between 27mm and 300mm is good for general shooting conditions, but overall there are better options considering the cost.

poor quality
poor quality at high zoom range. my other maker outfit with 70-300mm was superb at ALL ranges of the zoom. I have given the Sony to a son who thinks it is adequate but I regret using it at max. zoom on my Africa safari. It is very adequate at the 18-30mm zoom range but not the lens for me.

Versatile, great zoom lens
The lens is quite versatile, I've already taken it out to take some landscape shots as well as the night shots. Sharp and good manual control most of times. The only downside being that it is quite slow to focus, if you are looking to shoot continuously, this might not be the best choice.
