Best superzoom today for shooting stills and 4K UHD videos
If you want a camera to cover the 24-600mm eqiv range with fast apertures (F2.4-F4) this is what you need. It has zero chromatic aberration even at the long end since Sony used SD APO objective. It is so shark you could use 50x clear zoom in 4K UHD that is very usable if you need 1200mm eqiv. I very seldom use my GH4 or NX1 since getting it since it has such a great range.

GREAT CAMERA
Looks like it can be a great travel camera and even replace a lot of those heavy 400mm zoom lens. I am disabled and cut a typical L shaped handle To be a little less in height as the camera body. This allows me to use 3 fingers on my right hand to hold the right side of the camera and use the other finger on the shutter. With my left hand I can still use a walking stick.

Very good but with some serious flaws
The positives are there: great sensor, lots of control options, super zoom, compact compared with a dSLR The negatives are significant: heavy compared with other super zoom all in ones, expensive, auto focus is truly awful, long telephoto shots are always soft. Lots of complaints about the menu interface, but imo they all have issues, it's just what you're used to.

Big Winner From Sony--Again
The DSC-RX10 III (otherwise known as the M3) is really a joy to work with. The new Zeiss zoom is comparable to many expensive interchangeable lenses that are available for DSLRs and ILCs. The quality of the build and the myriad of features are awesome. Though a little pricey for its class one soon forgets that once you hold it in your hands and start using it.

Meets my expectations.
Price is too high but performance is high. Plan on using to photograph live performances during rehearsals and actual performances. The shutter is very quite and the photos very sharp (unless shooting at the longest telephoto range then shake is VERY EASY to achieve. Manual sucks. Sony needs to write a manual and save it in pdf format so it can be downloaded.

Great Lens
This camera has a great lens with good reach for something its weight. It has become my camera of choice for hiking. I take a lot of natural history photographs where focus can be tricky and essential. This camera does not do well with that. The automatic focus is difficult, especially in an environment with multiple layers. The manual focus is slow.

Great All-in-One
I've only had this camera for a short time (I have the orig. model RX-10) I am very pleased with the greater range of the new zoom lens & the extended ISO options ! Sony menus are not the best & a touch screen for some functions would've been nice , but it's an excellent camera regardless. Pricey but compared to the alternatives , worth it .

The Right Choice
After a week, I am pleased I made this choice. I often want a walk-around camera and this one is meeting my needs. Its a little slower to focus than Im used to for shooting moving targets, but I think I may just need more time to figure it out. Photos at the coast with the zoom were beyond my expectations. Crystal clear, beautiful color.

yes the camera is great and found no problems.
Now about the manual. It is absolutely terrible. there is no explanation of what does what and some information is actuarially missing. Get a look at what Nikon puts out and compare it with what Sony does. And to top it off it is printed on Toilet paper. When a person spends 1500.00 for a camera a better manual should be included.

Great camera, I would buy it again.
I use it mainly for video, image is good, Zoom excellent, I also could do very nice time lapse with the App downloaded from Sony. Good quality of slow motion at 240 FPS. The camera is heavy and the Focus is not the best I had so far. If you just need a point and shoot camera and not that amount of zoom I would go of the RX 100 iv.

Excellent camera
I very much like the RX10 and am amazed at all it does. The only thing I would change (if it could be changed) is the weight. It is a bit heavy. But with the excellence of the lens and the zoom range, I suppose it must carry more weight. I would certainly recommend looking at this camera for those who wish for a one-lens outfit.

I would buy this camera again.
I bought this as a walk around camera, for when I didn't want to carry a DSLR and several lenses. The major determinant was the Zeiss lens, with 35 mm equivalent of 24-600 mm range. The main drawbacks so far are a slightly slow focus, and a fair amount of image noise, especially in low light situations, but the images are crisp.

Len is Sharp, beyond belief
Unbelievably sharp optics. Purchased to compete with my Canon 100 ~ 400 mm II L. Between 500 & 600mm I feel it is sharper than my Canon 100/400 L. The one down side I find though is that the Sony does not record the last image shot as quickly as the Canon eos 5D Mk IV. For that reason I can only give it 4 stars. tpm

Great Camera!
This is the camera I have hoped for! This is what I hoped digital cameras would become; in my opinion a complete system without carrying around extra lenses. Truly a marvel to use, and I haven't gotten off of the manual setting. I'm probably using 20% of the camera's capability and I'm blown away with that.

Year and a half later, still love it.
This package is so light and versatile. My favorite near-pro camera is always in my car or in my hand on short walks. To just turn it and shoot when that owl is staring at you or that fox takes you by surprise, this is the one. EVF is so clear, especially using focus peaking when shooting through branches.

OK for travellers
Quiet click, Sharp pictures. The lowest aperture is only to 16, Hard to get smooth water falls at slow speed setting. It is slow focus to catch flying birds. Lightroom won't support Sony raw files ARW. This Gear is convenient for travelers, but it features are strict for professional photographers

Nice 'all-in-one' camera
I generally shoot Canon cameras (5D III; 7D II), but have been looking for that all-in-one camera for travel and the times I'm just not in the mood to carry all the lens and stuff for my Canons. Very impressed so far with this camera. Nice, clear, and sharp photos even indoors without flash.

Awesome Big Bore Lens
The high frame rate mode is great. Pictures are bright and clear. I wish the manual were more descriptive. I did some movies with it, and file sizes are so big that it is unlikely that I will be able to share them. A clearer manual would have directed me to a different movie shooting mode.

RX 10 iii
This camera has a super sharp lens, better than many top of the line DSLRs, with expensive lenses. They seem to have fixed many of the problems with their notorious menu system. I found it much more intuitive than other Sony models, and I think that the customizable buttons are excellent.

GOOD BUT NT GREAT
Have been using my new DSC RX10 lll camera for about 5 days. Great picture and zoom quality outdoors in bright sunlight. Not so good indoors in low light because noise starts showing up at 1600ISO. Can be corrected in the On One software but still a big issue higher ISO.

not sure, can i get used to the electronic viewfinder?
great things, 24-600mm range, size for what it can do, viewfinder telling me the lens mm. negatives, no separate battery charger, camera body could easily accommodate a larger battery, no cd supplied, manual too small and not giving enough details about the operation.

I would buy this camera again
I have used it for photos of my dog and other dogs and scenery. I have had problems when changing the battery. First time I put a battery in there was no problem. Sometimes I have to pop the battery down hard for the blue piece to go over the top and lock it in.

Excellent - the Swiss Army Knife of Cameras
This camera is the prefect compromise between DSL and point-and-shoot. It is a little on the heavy side, but no need to carry several lens around with you. Excellent quality photos, so it is hard to figure out how this camera can be improved upon in the future?

So far so good
So far so good. Am enjoying having everything in one camera including video. The camera itself is heavier than my Nikon DSLR I replaced it with - but certainly worth the trade off considering my camera bag doesn't have to carry a bunch of heavy lenses around.
