Sony Alpha a6000 Mirrorless Digital Camera with 16-50mm Lens (Black)
Don't believe the HYPE. Average Camera at best
The camera is okay but not great despite all these people giving it glowing reviews. These people are novices masquerading as pros or pros being paid by Sony. The camera is great for portraiture and casual shooting only, due to poor battery life and subpar autofocus, which also prevents it from being a a street or sports/action camera. It it capable of great images(high DR), but only for portraits and planned shoots. The menu system is terrible a... Show More

Great size for an APS-C camera
I love the size and features of this camera that rival my Canon DSLR. The effects menu is really good, like the Sony RX100.

Great Camera
Got this for my daughter for xmas and it is an awesome camera. I have a Nikon D750 and I am seriously thinking of buying one as my second. It has lightening fast focus and the movie feature is very good.

Great Mirrorless Camera!
Coming from a NEX 5. I was hoping everything would be simple and intuitive, and it was everything I could have hoped for! I was surprised to find everything I would have liked on my NEX 5 was arranged almost exactly as I would have hoped it would be. The eye viewfinder works very well and the camera shutter is faster and quieter than before. I also love the hot-shoe. Very well built has a few more programmable buttons than my NEX 5, which is defi... Show More

Absolutely loving this camera!
I'm not a professional. I bought this camera for private home use. This is my new hobby camera. I have an older camera with the E-mount lens and they work perfect on this camera so I only bought the camera body. I love how quickly I can transfer pictures to my iPhone. It takes crisp clear pictures and quickly. There's no waiting around for it to reset for the next picture.

Trumps my wife's DSLR at 1/5th the price
This mirrorless camera is the perfect carry and shoot companion! The camera specs alone trump my wife's $ DSLR. With Sony's amazing 179 autofocus points it's hard to shoots anything blurry! She is so impressed after one use that she is switching to the a6000. Even her DSLR lenses work with the proper adapter. The size and narrow depth of the body make this camera ideal for portraits, landscape and low-light photography. I have used it undersea wit... Great for the price
This camera is great for the price. Shipping was fast and efficient. You can choose a free accessory package that I did not select and I wish I would've.

Fun camera!
I purchased this camera system for my husband who is a dedicated full-frame Nikon shooter. It gives him a system that he can hand-hold and take anywhere at any time due to how light weight it is. So far he has been using it to take photos of the dogs for me, but he sees it as a useful travel camera. Pros: Compact, portable, easy to hand hold, flexible & feature-rich for such a small camera Cons: Battery life is not long probably due to how many electronics the battery has to operate

Great deal
I checked on line with several other companies and this package deal was great. The Sony A 6000 is a very good camera. My wife had a Nikon lower end that kept freezing up on her. Several times in the shop. Now she's taking incredible pics. So much better. She really loves the size, changeable lens, etc. Oh yeah I hit a grand slam with this present!!

Very Impressive Camera Indeed
I am a Nikon convert, Was not an easy decision but no regrets at all. Started with the a7s for night shots and was so impressed with the a7s, that I decided to try the a6000 out as well for all my speed action shots. MAIN USE: speed/action shots. Hooked up to the 70-200 F/4 G lens it is much better than I expected it to be. 24 meg is perfect too. Focus speed is fantastic too. Pros: focus speed - weigh - quality Pros: People with big hands will fi... Show More

A welcome return to photography
Haven't had a decent camera since film days but finally decided to re-explore my old hobby. Originally ordered one of the tiny super cameras based on reviews. Only problem, it was inoperative out of the box. Decided that the A6000, with prime lenses, would be a better, more reliable choice. Am starting slowly with just a 30mm lens. Next up will be a wide angle, followed by a longer macro. Just had it for a couple of weeks (by the way, B&H got it ... Show More

Packs a lot of punch
Wanted a smaller camera than my DSLR that packed the most features with an affordable price. A major factor for me was a traditional viewfinder in addition to the LCD screen, which was a reason I went with Sony vs FujiFilm. The ease of use for the features, WiFi, and included lens are all great features.

Handles Better Than Any Other Camera I've Ever Owned
Sony A6000 Camera Review Over the past 40 years I've owned several Canon SLR and DSLR cameras along with a half dozen Canon lenses. Until a year ago my favorite Canon camera and lens combination was a Canon 5D camera with a 24-105mm lens, with a combined weight of almost four pounds. At age 86 I have a problem handling a camera that weighs that much. So a year ago I decided to buy something smaller and lighter. I purchased a Sony RX100(M3) pock... Show More

An observation I haven't seen anywhere.
I had been waiting (like many others) for whatever model replaces the A6000. When the price for the body went down to $, I couldn't resist any longer.A big improvement over the NEX 6 in almost every respect. I miss the level, but I'll live. Pretty much everything good about this camera has been said over and over again. The one thing I hadn't expected is that the viewfinder has a wider diopter correction range than the NEX 6. My least nearsighted ... Show More

Great camera
Such a great little camera for a fair price. I have the Canon 6D and bought this as a lighter alternative. I had the NEX-7 couple of years ago, which was a great camera, but for the cost at the time I was disappointed by the AF speed and tempted by the ISO performance of the large Canon that I replaced it with. The AF speed of the A6000 is much improved and I haven't yet seen it anywhere underperform when compared to the NEX-7. This will definite... Show More

Still new, but already love it.
I'm not a professional photographer yet, but I've been learning on my friend's Sony A7s. I would've liked to have gotten that, but it was not in my budget. This is a great second choice! I'm so thrilled with this purchase and I can't wait to get to know it better.

Very Satisfied
I love this camera. It is smaller than a mirrored DSLR, and for me that is a huge advantage. The image quality and the fast autofocus are both very impressive.

Better than Expected
I was considering the Nikon D7200, but I'm very glad I went with the Sony A6000. Not only is this camera lightweight and compact, it has endless features. Watch some tutorials online- like Gary Fong's videos, and read up on all the camera has to offer and take advantage of Sony's technology. I use this indoors, outdoors, to take pictures of active children, at theme parks--in scenarios where you don't have much time to change settings, but this camera makes adapting quickly easy. I love it so far. I only wish the screen revolved all the way around.

Fabulous Camera
I've had the camera for 2 weeks, and believe it is the camera I was meant to have. It feels great in my hands and I've been very impressed with its performance. I would say a weakness is the Sony online interface. It's meant to work in Internet Explorer and it can be tricky to set up.

Excellent product
This camera has exceeded my expectations and I haven't even begun to fully explore all of it's functions. On top of that, it's part of a great package deal. I've yet to find anything I dislike about it.

Solid Performer For The Money
I'm a worship photographer and for the past few years I've been shooting with either my Nikon D300 or D5000. More recently I've been shooting with a Sony a77ii. Those 3 systems have a lot of weight so I began looking for something lighter. I'd heard quite a bit about the mirrorless systems and so did some research and determined that the Sony a6000 might be a good system to migrate to. 16-50 kit lens is a real stinker
Love the camera - hate the lens! The 16-50 is a soft lens on good days, an awful lens on cloudy or overcast days. I had the best results using the camera in Aperture priority mode at f8. I photograph architectural subjects with my Nikon 810 most of the time. I tried using the little Sony, and wound up reshooting the job with the 810...just not up to the quality I need. I suspect the Zeiss 12mm lens might be an improvement - but I'm hesitant to sp... Show More
