I am on my second one of these. I bought it to record on Garageband with an Ampex 435 Cardoid condensor mic. When I turned on the Phantom power supply and turned the level up to where I got a green signal indicator I got a horrid high pitched noise. Handy Way to Connect an XLR Microphone to Your Computer
I have several mics with XLR connections and connecting them to the computer is quite convenient. The adapter plugs directly into the microphone and the USB cable plugs directly into the adapter eliminating the need to use a bulky XLR cable. Works well.
I purchased this interface to use one of my shotgun microphones to do voice overs on FCP X. It has individual controls for both the microphone volume and headphone volume. It took me a while to understand how the interface controls fit in to the voice over scheme and settings on FCP, but it does work very well for the process I planned.

Better than any USB-ONLY MIC
Think about it.....How could any manufacturer produce an all in one USB microphone and sell it for about the same price as an SM-58 ? I have tried most of the combo usb mics, and to me there is almost always something sonically annoying and/or lacking, when compared to using this SENAL XU-1648 interface with ANY pro grade microphone.

Excellent Quality
Even though the brand is not really famous (and actually, this is the first time I heard Senal), but this product is a good alternative to Shure X2U. It is cheaper but has all the features: Headphone out and Phantom Power. The output sound is also loud and clear.
