Excellent Camera
I have owned this camera for 3 weeks or so. My first shoot was an event for a school Choir. First I have to admit the images were outstanding. The ability to use scene files already built assisted in getting my shot were I needed. The XLR mic inputs locations and the on screen menus made it easy to get my audio levels. At first, learning to use the camera was a bit overwhelming, but I suggest the Barry Green videos and book.

The only thing better than one of these is having two!
The Panasonic AG-DVX200 is an exceptional 4K Cinema Video Camera with all the features you could possibly need for great footage. Yes it has beautiful bokeh. Try the macro mode and fall in love with this camera.

Gorgeous Color
I have owned a pair of DVX200's for a few months now. The learning curve is not insignificant due to the rich feature set. And there are a few quirks that you need to work through in understand the matrix of options. Depending on the format you are shooting various options may or may not be available and the list is just too long to describe here. This is not a negative, just a caution, you will need some practice with this camera before you are ... Show More

I would buy again.
I used the camcorder for the first time today. It had a beautiful image. It is easy to use after you spend time learning all you can about the menu and special button. Mimi Garrard

A nice 4k upgrade
I've grow to love Panasonic, first with the DVX100, then HMC150, GH4 and now the DVX200. I shoot a lot of theatre and hand held stuff and this camera is definitely heavier than the HMC, but the 4k quality is a vast improvement! My favorite features so far: For the most part, the 200 feels a lot like the HMC150 and the DVX100. The focus peaking (something I enjoy on the GH4) is by far my favorite feature. The 4/3rds sensor takes some getting used ... Show More

What Hath Panasonic Wrought
As I use this beauty more and more, I realize what I was missing shooting in HD on the trusted, very reliable HMC150. Switching to 4K on the 200 was a revelation. The clarity! The color depth! The screen grabs! And I have old eyes! One of the best purchases I have ever made in terms of camcorders since getting seriously into video over 20 years ago. Now, I wonder, what will 16K look like? 10 bit 422 LOG
4/3 sensor, 4k, 10-bit 422 out, VLog-L ... whole lotta bang for the buck. I haven't loved a cam this much in a long time. 10-bit 422 LOG @ ProResHQ under 5k with the Atomos Ninja Blade (1080p) or a little more for 4k (with Atomos Ninja Flame).

Getting to know you
Just recieved our two Panny AG-DVX200's and have a few first impressions that I need to get of my chest. Having a slick red and imitation carbon fiber finish is nice but an emphasis should have been placed on durability in the field. The rigors of run and gun will take toll on the compartment doors that cover connection points. Most notably, the door that protects the external power supply and headphone jack is sure to be broken. One would think ... Show More

Great Camera!
This is a great run N gun camera that records beautiful images. Especially when outputting 10bit to my Black Magic Assist 4K.

Its great!
I still have its earlier SD predecessor and couldn't wait to get hold of this one when I heard it was coming out. I've had it since late 2015, are still learning new aspects of how to work with her and love the features. Now that Premiere Pro has great proxy files for editing I can finally make full potential of the 4K capabilities and are loving the results. It is a very user friendly camera for my work which is mainly corporate and promotional ... Show More

A very good camera but...
Let me begin with the good of the camera: This camera is very beautiful inside out. It has what you need to grab and shoot. I mostly use fully automated function instead of manual. For only few works I have used it manually. I do have problems with Cine Files. These are really not that good and the extra ones (about 18 more) don't help became you have load and upload which if you are using automation does not please you at all. This is a keeper f... Got one, then got one more.
I was long overdue to update my starter camera an HMC150. Not being an early adapter I waited a while for the beta testers (early buyers) to sort things out. I did have to update the firmware on my first purchase and it was both effortless and painless. I had no problems with the menus being quite familiar with the Panasonic feel. Having a GH4 had preexposed me to many of the features. But there were a few new things, some of which I am wrapped a... Show More

So I Finally Bought It, And I Love It!
I had posted a review of my 90 minutes of experience in the store with this camera and I was impressed. I decided to give it a go and finally bought it after a lot of thought and consideration. the camera is not bad
the camera is not bad, but problems with sd cards, an auto focus (points of an auto focus are too close located, often misses when it is more than 1 person, on the average and long end), the autobalance bad, is more 21-24db not working, an expozamer bad. pluses the good picture, in case of good lighting. well blurs a background.

Good Jump into 4K
I am an in-house videographer in a PR department and I typically work with your run and gun cameras as it take a lot of the leg work out from having to bring A LOT of equipment and lenses. As my first jump into 40K this was a very easy camera to pick up and play with. In short, I love it. The picture is great and just does so much before editing that I rarely have to do anything in post to fix up the picture. Great color, AMAZING depth of field shots. A really good buy.

Outstanding Camera!
This is by far, the most advanced fixed lens camcorder in the market as of today. With such a huge menu and amazing image quality, this is a professionals' dream tool. I've had this for about 2 months now and I'm still learning more and more about this camera. The more I learn, the better I get while operating it. The best part which suits my needs is that this camera meets with the DCI specifications. I can choose from various aspect ratios up t... Show More

Highly Recommend for Documentary Shooting
I bought this camera primarily for documentary shooting; it's footage looks great and the handling feels great. It feels/functions like the legendary HVX200, but its footage (especially 4K) looks like a high-end camera (which it is!). Absolutely worth the investment. Only downside is that, in indoor low-light, its 1080p looks noticeably worse than 4K.

Excellent camera, but with some artifacts
I love the DVX200. It's a versatile camera, with plenty of functions and a low price point. I would buy it again if I should. The only problem I noticed is the visual echo (or ghosting) that may be seen in some low light footage. This issue is well documented on the web, but still not addressed by Panasonic (firmware 1.72). It's not the end of the world and many clients probably will never notice it.

I have only had the DVX200 for a few weeks, but I'm learning it. This is my first camcorder, so a lot of new things to learn. I'm going to write this review for new people not familiar with a Pro camcorder on this level. My background is mirrorless and DSLR cameras for video. Let me say this about this camera upfront. Worth Every Penny of Mine
Does what I need a run and gun camera to do! I'm glad they finally made a 4K camera modeled after the dvx100. Love that you have different recording options available and the variable frame rate feature up to 120fps. You can get some nice slow motion in this camera. The footage also matches my GH4, so I don't have to do any extra color grading to match between the two. Only small critique I have is the lens has a variable f stop, so the iris closes as you shoot more telephoto. I knew that before buying so it wasn't too big of an issue. Make sure get the latest firmware updates as well.

A lot of camera for the price
I love my DVX200. The number of internal codecs, 4/3-type sensor, the body design in general (size, handle, side grip, servo zoom, individual FIZ controls), layout of buttons and instrumentatio, I/O options, choice of LCD or EVF, scene file customization, under/overcrank capabilities, DCI 4K @ 24.00 fps, among other things, make the DVX200 a highly versatile camera. As of this writing (May 2016) I have the latest firmware (v1.65) installed. The n... Show More

Not great...at all!
I had to film a documentarie in Hawa and the DVX200 was imposed to me. The experience was not happy. It's not a good camera overall. Poor compression in camera (4:2:0). A menu that is counter intuitive. The LCD is not good in sun condition and the eye viewfinder in not better. There is only 12 stop of latitude and I believe it is less in truth. If the macro fonction is not engaged, the minimum distance for your focus is like 4 feet. Well, I had 6 days of shooting with it, in many different condition and it fail all the time. If you can avoid working with this camera, well...avoid!
