I picked this up used in B&Hs used dept for $1050, the person before me only used it for 4 hours. I feel like I got a great deal. Ive had the LG 34 UltraWide 5K for about two weeks now and love it. Took a few days to get used to the extra screen width, but its amazing. This monitor is AMAZING! It is a major productivity booster. I used to have two Ultrafine LG monitors an upgraded to one of these. Mac OS gave this monitor a bad name
So I originally bought this monitor a few months ago and, like many of the reviews, had a multitude of issues with docking it. I ended up using a trick I found on gaming forums which involves plugging into the TB3 port on my 2019 MBP (both 13 and 15in) while booting (yes, you had to reboot every time). Amazing monitor, works in Linux
Have a Dell Precision 7530 w/Quadro P3200 which dual-boots between Windows and LInux. First used with Thunderbolt. Linux worked but slightly quirky. Windows worked but when the laptop went to sleep it hung on re-awake so I had to force kill it. Not good. I didnt get the chance to test my 2018 13 MacBook Pro but the screen colors, sharpness, and format are wonderful. I returned it however given I preferred dual monitors. If LG wasnt coming out with the 38 ultrawide gaming monitor, I would order this one again to go with my 27 16:9 monitor. Close to perfect
Using it with a 2010 Mac Pro, currently in 4K as the current computer does not support 5K easily. Display is crisp, design is elegant. Several split screen options are available, although so far I have not had much use for that feature. Went from a 30 Apple Cinema Display, and the additional width of this monitor allows additional windows to be visible simultaneously. Only negative is that the OSD setup navigation is somewhat counterintuitive and the joystick very sensitive. I can highly recommend this monitor.

Does not connect via Thunderbolt on Macbook Pro
This monitor does not connect to my Macbook Pro late 2016 15 inch. All the specs on my laptop are compatible. The only way I can connect is with an HDMI or mini display port, which isnt able to push the higher 5k2k resolution. Absolute waste of time patiently waiting months for this product. Ive already called LG and am shipping it to them to see if I had a defective product, but I highly doubt it. Just a flat out software defect I think.

Absolutely spectacular!
I own a 2017 MacBook Pro and it is working flawlessly with the LG. I am waiting for delivery of my new Mac Mini which should be arriving in a couple of days and that will be the computer for this monitor. One of the top ten electronic/computer items I have bought in the last 10 years. I am thrilled with the monitors performance. The only downside is the volume should be software controlled but I believe an update is coming for that.

It doesn't work with 2019 MacBook Pro
When plugged into USB-C it crashes the 2019 MBP. I spent 2 hours on the phone with Apple Care and they tried everything. It would only work in Safe Mode. LG support said they would get back to me but I haven't heard back form them. Apple said there may be a way to force it to work but only a senior Apple advisor could do it. It currently only works with a HDMI adapter at 1080 with the MBP.

Not compatible with 2018 MacBook Pro
Per LG: This monitor is not compatible with the 2018 MacBook Pro (15). The 10.14.2 release should solve this, but its anyones guess until this actually happens. Anyone looking at this monitor should hold off until Apple releases this update and its confirmed to work. The above is directly from LGs website. You can also chat/call them to confirm. Just trying to help anyone interested out.

No 5K resolution on late 2016 13 MacBook Pro with Touch Bar
Ive had this monitor for about 2 weeks have have yet to get it to produce 5k resolution using Thunderbolt 3. Ive tried every port and different cables but the best I can get is 3360 x 1417 using the scaled display options. Using Default For Display option appears to produce a resolution of 2560 x 10180. Truly disappointing after waiting since February for this monitor. Its going back.

Its the monitor I wanted.
First of all thank you to B & H. Crazy shipping has only been flying to Korea in four days. After several tests, my product I found it to be in very good condition. (Windows) We will be testing on a Mac PC soon It will not be much different. Finally, the fact that LG products must be purchased in the United States Sadly, I will value scarcity in Korea.

Plugged it in and it worked
I have an iMac 27 late 2017. After reading all the reviews with concerns about using this monitor with a Mac I almost did not purchase it. sense B&H accepts returns I went ahead and purchased it just before Christmas and plugged it in New Years day and it just worked. The only change I made was to change the Display Port version to 1.4

LG 34 5k Monitor Looks and work gret
Deliver was delayed by one day due to weather conditions, Once here and unpacked the set up was very easy. Contacted right to my MacBook Air (2015) running at 4k with the supplied cable adapter and looks wonderful. Cant wit to upgrade computere to one with Thunderbolt 3 to get the most out of the monitor.
