Did not work
I attempted to use these devices such that it would mean less work for end users than the traditional send/receive units. Unfortunately, they did not work, no matter what I did, I could not get them to work. Switched out the CAT-5e cable, swapped sided thinking possibly the housing was reversed, re-seated the units on to the DVI-D Single Layer ports on both transmitter & receiver, on and on... unfortunately they never worked for my and I ended up going with the previous solution I was attempting to eliminate.

This does just what is supposed to do
I had another brand but had trouble from the beginning. Sometimes it would just quit for no reason and a reboot would get it going again. Finally nothing. The gve200 worked out of the box without and downloads or anything. Hasn't missed a moment even during a thunderstorm the other night . JUST PLAIN GREAT

Unfortunately these didn't work.
Tried these in a theatre situation, started with a 50' run, no signal, 25 feet, same thing - finally we went directly in with a 5' run and still no image. It would have been a handy tool, but I had to go out and buy regualr cables.

Worked great! with one suggestion...
At first I originally tried a CAT5 cable to send my signal approximately 50 feet and the signal was extremely noisy. Once I did some research and tried a CAT 6 cable, it worked great.

Works with 3/4 aspect monitors, not HD
I bought this extender with the hope of connecting one of my 20 Apple Cinema Displays to a Mac Mini Server but the extender doesn't work with the Cinema Display. I was able to use the extender with an older 19 4/3 aspect ratio monitor @ 1280x1024 resolution but that's not what I wanted. If you want a DVI extender to use with an HD monitor, look elsewhere as the GVE200 is not up to the job.
