Not a perfect monitor when it comes to color & luminance, but adequately good for an excellent price. Calibrated & tested with the i1 Display Pro. Has all the functionality expected in a standard monitor.Center of monitor was calibrated at 120cd/m2, the edges were measured as low as 102cd/m2. The white point had a delta of 203k from center of monitor to the edges.

Small Business Staple Item
I use 2 of these in a dual monitor set-up. Only reason I gave 4 stars is that my I.T. guy said the color was slightly off on one of the monitors. I could not tell the difference, but this guy knows his stuff. Still, for this quality of monitor, this is a good price and these things are dependable.

Excellent Monitor at a great price from
I have beenn using a high end Toshiba Laptop to edit video. The addition of the Dell 24 HD nonitor will make post production much easier. The U2412M UltraSharp 24 LED Monitor is a pleasure to use.

Impressive
My decade old 24, 1900 x 1200 Cinema Display finally went to permanent sleep so I decided to return my recently purchased 2nd, a 23 1900 x 1080, to @ & go with this beauty. I based that on both its continued, stellar reviews at The Wirecutter & elsewhere as well as that extra real estate. Sharp image
I love the fact that you can change the height and tilt on these displays. The only down side to them in my experience is the location of the DVI port. It makes it difficult to plug in, I also have to setup / breakdown the monitors often so wouldn't be a problem for most people.

Dell Ultrasharp IPS monitor

Great Monitor
Excellent quality monitor. Small bezel combined with the adjustability. Pivot is a great feature. Colors were great out of the box with auto adjust. When I'm ready for a 3 monitor setup I will be buying this monitor again!

First of all, a pat on the back to B+H shipping. They put the Dell box in another larger box with padding, to protect it in shipping. I think there's a lot of sellers out there who would just slap a label on the Dell box and ship it. A BIG reason to buy this monitor, besides the great picture quality, is the 16x10 aspect ratio. I use this Dell monitor on my desktop PC for all my PC tasks. It is a great tool for evaluating, editing and managing my photos. The 1920 by 1200 resolution on a 24 screen provides adequately large text for my less-than-perfect eyes. Good monitor
An excellent monitor for business and research use. Oblique-angle visibility is good. Images are sharp, and it handles ambient lighting variability well. It is top-heavy which limits adjustability. I was surprised that it doesn't come with a DisplayPort cable, which other Dell monitors in this family includes.

Stunning Monitor!
I am so impressed with the size & quality of this monitor! It will allow me to vastly improve my photo refinishing. I hesitated at first, but have no doubt that this was the best choice I could have made. One great feature allows adjustment of the monitor for different usages. The only downside is that I will have to refinish some of my older photos now that I can see the minute imperfections hidden by my old inferior monitor. Not a problem, the final result will far exceed my expectations. Just Great!

features + quality = great value
This monitor seems to have good inital quality and the I/O connections and adjustability are great. Very useful are the extra USB ports to serve the wireless keyboard/mouse and the web-cam. However, I wonder why they didn't include an HDMI connection. Another thing to think about is that in my case, I should have made sure that I had the latest driver for my video card. Best monitor for Apple Mac mini
I am using this as a second monitor for a two monitor configuration for my Apple Mac mini 2011. In my opinion, this monitor is the best monitor to use with the Mac mini and as a second monitor for the Mac desktop and MacBooks. I would highly recommend this monitor.

Beautiful
Worked right out of the box. Beautiful crisp screen. I have a Dell 2713H I am using alongside it for photo editing and the 2412M is being used for emails and other desktop work. Well polished product and the best part is that it comes with the height adjuster. Can't say enough about how useful it is. Not sure there is anything I don't like about it. Just a great monitor.

Great performance for it's price
If you are into photography and video editing then you must know how important it is to get a reference correct color. I had done some extensive research and within this price range Dell seemed to be the best option and it did not disappoint. Its slick good looking slim and all of that. Most important the color is not graded, flat and you get what you see. The only missing point was the HDMI port. You have to convert the VGA to HDMI since you cannot directly plug into a HDMI port.

GREAT MONITOR FOR PHOTO VIEWING/EDITING
I am an amateur photographer. I bought this monitor to process RAW images and then view them. The 1920 X 1200 resolution screen fits my 2X3 format images with little waste on the sides. Editing in Lightroom is a snap. The quality of the viewed images is STUNNING. The monitor works well for everyday stuff like emails and web surfing too. Selecting the Standard preset mode eliminated the yellow caste issue raised by some reviewers.

Excellent monitor!
I found this particular model on a top ten monitors for Mac list that a friend forwarded to me. You just can't beat the quality of this unit for the price! Excellent picture, easy menu to operate - and the stand is pretty awesome as well. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a quality monitor at a very low price.

I read the yellow tint reviews but didn't heed the warnings. received the dell u2412m for the purpose of photo editing. all went well until I brought up some photos. Yes indeed yellow tint very apparent. my wife even noticed. sent it back and upgraded to a ASUS PB278Q. hoping for the best.

16:10, IPS, fast response time, works
This thing does the job. Using it in portrait mode at 1200x1920. If you want to game on an IPS screen, this has sub-1 frame input lag. The stand is the best stand I've ever used on a monitor.

Very Nice Monitor
I bought two of these to replace my old outdated mismatched monitors. The one thing that really caught my attention was that it was a 16:10 ratio and had height adjustments. Those are two feature that seem to be hard to find anymore. The extra height of the 16:10 is really nice, it makes the monitors feel much bigger than the 24 16:9s. I had to buy a DVI to HDMI adapter since my video card only had one DVI out. Colors are vivid and the text is crisp. The two monitors I got seem to match in color and brightness with out any adjustments.

Get a pair and calibrate your workflow
I used to have a pair of these before I switched to Cinema displays. When calibrated using a Spyder, results were very even and colors excellent. Light bleeding through is always a problem with the cheaper screens, but even the much more expensive Cinemas do that so maybe it's something that LCDs do...
