Outstanding monitor right out of the box
These monitors come factory calibrated for each monitor and look great right out of the box. Outstanding color and sharpness. Great ergonomics (best stand in the business).

Excellent monitor after teething problems
My initial U3417W was defective, and apparently also used, since Dell said it was registered to some company in California! There was also no getting started booklet. The monitor kept displaying vertical stripes (as in attached image). Dells support (even at supervisor level) said it was impossible for it to be the monitor since it had no CPU and just displayed what was sent to it! So, I got a new Sapphire video card, but that was not the problem. B&H nicely took back the original and sent me a new one. It is working beautifully.

Awesome display!
Its surely not the cheapest monitor out here, and to be perfectly honest, for that money build quality couldve been better. But apart from these things, I totally love it. Its packed with features, image quality is superb and even the built-in speakers sounds reasonably good. USB hub feature is superb: I have just 3 wires going down from my desk to the PC. Macs have problems
I just got this today. As shown, there is a pinkish patch on the left edge of the screen. Dell says it is Apples fault. I am driving this with a Sapphire HD 7950, which needs no driver supposedly. Otherwise it is nice. Even with the patch, it is better than my old Apple 30 cinema monitor

Great Replacement For Dual Setup
I've been using Dell 20" (2007Fp) LCD's in a dual setup on all my desktops for years. Unfortunately, the square monitors are next to impossible to find any more. Been using this 3417 for a few months now. Love it! Works great. Software splits it into 2 (or more) screens. Easy to read graphics and great color. First arrived damaged (Thanks FedEx!). B&H was great, replaced it will no problems. Will be purchasing another soon.

a bit over 8 months now
full time photographer but like gaming I recently switched to PC (thats another story) but got this to go with my NEC PA for second monitor watching videos and gaming and overall work color accuracy is OK but nothing great but I am used to NEC PA etc.. for the casual user would be good enough and the extra width is really nice but IMHO vertical res is more important for editing than horizontal ? movies more support for wide movies players is ne... Very bad packing but awesome monitor
The packing is so bad - it looks like the box was out in the rain for a month and squashed by the carrier - but the monitor is awesome! I used u3415w at work and found it very good thus I bought this. It worths every penny.

Beautiful Monitor
The extra space for editing and various programs with multiple panels is worth every penny. The curve is nice on the eyes and color/sharpness is on point. Only been using for about 2 weeks now, but it has been flawless thus far.

Great universal monitor for 2 workstations!
I have been looking to add some extra workspace for sometime and It comes down to U3417W for its price and quality. It's a great monitor for anyone who switches between two computers often. Ultrawide workflow is a game changer.
I am a video editor by trade, so I tend to be picky about my monitors. This is my first monitor that doesn't have an Apple logo below the display, so this is big for me. Anyways, with this monitor, I can have an entire screen height 16x9 video and still have space for work panels. Also, for the price its a steal. No, its not 4k, but it's perfect for what I do.

Fantastic Monitor
My primary use is for work. I replaced my 27 Dell 4K monitor with this monitor. I run a lot of VMs and was sick of tiny little windows that I couldn't read. I write code in VMs, and build architectures. I write a lot of documents and do a lot of vid calls. This monitor is fantastic for me. I can easily have 3 windows side x side when needed. It looks great, I have watched some vid while working on servers, and that works well. Fantastic purchase. Great picture.

Really is the perfect monitor
I spent weeks looking for the right monitor setup. I was considering either a dual monitor setup or a single wide. A good friend of mine highly recommended this one, because it's the one they all use at his development agency. This monitor gives enough space to have my terminal, browser and text edit open and visible all at the same time. The screen is clear and easy on the eyes. I've been using it for about a month now and just love it.
