I went back and forth on whether to jump into the iMac Pro, or build out a PC. I've been on a mac for almost 20 years, so moving to Windows was not what I wanted to do. It is great; connectivity is a struggle
I named it "Zoom" and the experience of using it is the peak of Macs that I've owned since the SE and Mac II of 1988. Worth every penny...
The new iMac Pro is worth it. It's fast with large I,age files and really smoke with video processing (DaVinci Resolve). Paired with the G-Shuttle TB3 RAID I purchased with it, it's a great system.

was hesitant at first to buy as have always had expandable mac desktops in the past. However I could not wait for the modular mac pro rumored to come out this year or next year. I am glad I didn't. iMac Pro replaced my 11 year old Dell XPS 700...
It take awhile to go from MS Vista to Apple OS X but I have completed the change-over. It's not difficult just time consuming to learn a new OS and get my old files copied over to the new system.

Finally a model for video producers
After two weeks of editing a video project in Apple's Final Cut Pro X (ver10.4) it is clear this iMac Pro was built for it. Some pleasant improvements like audio waveform paints up in front of your eyes, this was a real gripe on my older i7 iMac, 4K video can be played in real-time with affects applied and exporting your project doesn't require a coffee break! So dont think about the price, think about the time you will save...waiting!
