Great as always

Oct 6, 2014

I am mostly a documentary filmmaker. I like my characters to forget about being in front of the camera. Using this microphone I can get great sound and some great inner moments without being restrained with the wires. Another great asset is it doesn't consume batteries fast so I don't have to worry about running out for the whole day. It has may channel options which is useful in when filming on site with other camera crews.

Solid Sound and True Diversity

Jan 14, 2016

Bought these to pair with my Sony FS5 and it's a match made in heaven. The receiver has diversity antennae and I've no problem finding the transmitter. It also gives you a wide range of frequencies to use, but my favorite feature on this system is the pilot tone option that is a smart way to ensure minimal noise or interference. These are rock solid and I would highly recommend them.

Value and Ease of Use

Jun 30, 2015

We're a 501(c)3 and value -- price for quality -- is important This set is a winner in that respect. Our video production crewmembers are teens, not technicians, and ease of use is critical. That's a second win for this equipment. Took only minutes from box-to-operation. Besides, the kids think the receiver mounted on the camera shoe is wicked cool. I guess that means they like it.

Great System for the Price

Jul 3, 2014

Just got it recently and have used it on one video shoot. Very pleased with it so far. The sound I got was very good with no interference. It seems to be easy to use and pretty durable. I've worked with systems that cost more than $1000 and I would say that this unit compares favorably. Time will tell as far as long-term durability but thus far I'm very pleased with my purchase.

Great product, lav mic sounds AMAZING, one nitpick.

May 1, 2019

Build is sturdy, headphone out is clear and offers much headroom. Menu takes a little practice, so spend a little time with it before using it on the job. Only ONE nitpick. For more than $500 you think they could include a manual in booklet form?! Its one of those big roadmap style accordion sheets. Theres a CD included, but a booklet to take on the field would have been nice.

Great improvement

Oct 31, 2018

I had been using a boom microphone before the purchase of the Sony Lavalier. I used the Sony Lavalier on a shoot where the filmed person was walking around equipment and describing the process of installing their solutions on the equipment. With the Sony, sound quality was much improved in clarity, richness and consistency. The UWP-D11 performed perfectly. Thanks!

Less interference than G2

Aug 7, 2017

My old standby set, the Senn G2 series, just can't compete with these new Sony lavs as the G2 are very susceptible to interference. I've had these Sonys for almost a year now and can't recall a single problem while filming. Peace of mind and quality recordings. The only drawback is that I'd say the battery life is a bit shorter on the Sony packs for some reason.

STAY AWAY!!!

Jul 18, 2017

The product stopped working after almost 3 months of use. Sony has terrible technical support. I am currently still waiting for a call back for them to help me with the issue. I have called 3 times total and they tell me that I need to wait to get a call back and that is my only option. It's been over a week and still no call back from technical support.....

Apr 23, 2016

Fantastic quality I love the autoscanning It finds the best frequency available and the sinking between transmitter and receiver is fast and easy I bought this package because the plug-in transmitter is great to plug into audible words with its line in capability Couple friends of mine told me to buy the lower frequency channel 14 I find it's working well

good at isolating the speaker

Oct 18, 2018

We bought this to do interviews at a tradeshow. Did an incredible job of picking up the speakers voice while minimizing the background noise. relatively easy to setup. Did take a little time to sync the channels but better than doing it manually. I appreaciate the crispness of the audio compared to the basic sennhiser wireless lavalier mic.

Works great.

Jan 3, 2018

Works great for my trade show booth use. I've only used the setting with which it arrived. Way over my head to change anything. And I did read all of the instructions. I think you'd have to work for the FCC to understand it all. But, it worked great and discretely fit's in my jeans' pockets - and they're women's jeans.

Excellent microphone setuo

Feb 22, 2016

We use two on remote shoots. They work flawlessly! Prior to the shoot, we make sure the channels are clear. If not, it is easy to have the units search for another clear channel. The triple receiver holder works perfectly to hold both receivers atop the camera and connection to the cameras xlr inouts is a breeze.

Easy to use for the first timers

May 13, 2015

For the first timers who does not have the experience with wireless mic, it is vey easy to use. It took me about 15min to figure out the procedure. Only downside is that manual causes little confusion about the proper usage of the functions. Youtube video was more helpful than the instruction manual.

Good clean sound and fast to sync

Feb 15, 2016

I will be shooting broadcast and corp projects with UWP. Purchased 2 Sony UWP systems to replace my old Senn G2 system. Much easier to find clear channels and the IR sync is much faster than the Senn G2. Good clean audio. Nice build construction, time will tell but I am happy with my purchase so far.

Very Clear Audio

Apr 11, 2015

This is very easy to use. You have to have the channels set right, but don't have to do that each time. I have used this to interview someone close to a busy four lane road and you can't here the cars at all. The audio is very clear and high quality. I'd recommend it, but it is very expensive.

A real must have

Jul 7, 2015

One way to insure you get great sound to match your videos. Very easy to set up. I tie in the sound to camera, a Zoom H6, and Atomos Field Recorder. Works great and the sound quality is very good. A bit pricey, but worth the extra money.Add a few AA nicd rechargeables and your good to go.

Best Wireless Mic!

Jan 21, 2015

I researched this mic heavily before buying it and it's comparitive to the Sennheiser system with a lot of extras. Absolutely no static, easy to use, and mounts quickly and easily to the cam. Lovely working with this system and it compliments the mini sony palm cam I got.

Great sturdy wireless mic

Dec 23, 2019

I have used these mics for years and have filmed over 100 pieces with the sony wireless. They are sturdy and operate on two AA batts per unit. The sound and convenience is great. I sometimes still wire up for long sit downs, but in the field this mic is the best.

Works Great

Jul 23, 2014

I also purchased a Sony ECM-673/9X SHORT SHOTGUN MIC and a Senal ENG-18RL MIC to go with this set. I am fully operational to video wedding events. This is the best accessory addition to my Nikon D800 and my Gitzo Series 5 tripod. I have no complaints.

Jul 22, 2014

I used it for interviews and on a subject who was speaking to a room full of people. It worked seamlessly with no static. I also got a great price, which was considerably less than the Sennheiser G3s. Still testing, but so far so good!

Unusable Audio

First shoot the D11 was fine but Sony's audio is not as clear as Senheiser. The second shoot the audio levels kept going up and down. Wanted to like it because I have Sony cameras but ended up being garbage.
