This Camera Rocks!!
I have been a video producer for 27 years. Most of my projects are interview driven and I have used Canon cameras for the interviews. I just completed a documentary and I will be producing more and I found the Lumix camera I was using for field video and broll was a challenge to use. I looked at several cameras as an alternate to shooting in the field and the HXR-NX100 seemed like a good fit at the price point. I have had it a week now and I love it. It also does a great job for interviews. I would recommend this camera.

Error code after one year of moderate use
I really liked this camera, until it popped an error code (E:62:10) right before the start of a shoot. I need it for multi-camera weddings I've already sold, and Sony's solution is to have me send it in for repairs which MAYBE are covered under warranty. What am I supposed to do while this defective product is unavailable? Buy ANOTHER unreliable Sony cam so the footage matches? Tough toe nails, Sony Customer. So, be aware, this is NOT a dependable product.

Excellent at capturing stage lighting
I've been frustrated for many years in trying to find a camera that accurately renders colors and detail in the fluid low-light conditions of theatrical productions without costing an arm and a leg. This one does it well. A couple of complaints: the menu and navigation buttons, as others have noted, are inconveniently placed (this is annoying, but can be overcome); and even when in manual focus mode, it produces an unfocused image when stage ligh... Excellent camcorder
For many years I've been videotaping our community chorus, using two or three angles and Sony HDR-FX7s with HDV/DV mini/DV Cassettes. Uploading clips to Final Cut ProX from these cameras is very time consuming, especially a two hour show with three angles. Using HXR-NX100s uploading clips from memory cards is a huge improvement. Theatre lighting can be very challenging, but the HXR-NX100 came through with excellent color in auto mode without havi... Show More

This is a must by camera.
Just got this camera and it is a big upgrade to the one that I was using. The options are plenty for any video recording. You won't be disappointed with this purchase.

Non reliable camera ...
I love this camera for the quality of the image and how easy it is to use but I own the camera for 15 months and I got the issue for the second time after, maybe 40 hours of use. It appears an error code on the upper right of the display saying: E:62:10. What I found is that the stabilization system seems to fail. I own 3 consumer type camcorder and they worked fine after intensive use. Why can't I get a Pro reliable equipment from Sony? B&H were of poor help to me in that case saying I have to deal with Sony.

Great DSLR-Style Camcorder for the Price!
I bought my Sony NX-100 in May of 2016. I really do like this camera a lot - it has a great set of features and shoots incredible quality video, even in low light. I compare it to a DSLR simply due to its control rings and manual control buttons. There are a couple small things I don't like about the camera that I would have liked to know before buying. That being said, there were no deal breakers here - I would have bought the camera regardless.... Show More

Beautiful Images. Very Happy with Purchase.
Camera shoots beautiful images in bright and dark environments. Is a very good run and gun style camera. Can't beat it for this price point. My only complaint is the auto focus isn't the best. I found turning on the facial recognition feature helps but it still can be sluggish at times.

High Quality Run-n-Gun Video Camera
This has turned out to be a great addition to my video/photo production arsenal. I do a variety of shooting, but a lot of what I do centers around my RayJ Reviews video blog. I cover a lot of festivals, street performers and live bands. Everything moves fast and the lighting is constantly changing. I demand professional video quality even under tough circumstances and this camera delivers. It's sensor size is not the largest, but large enough to ... Show More

Good Value Sony Camcorder
We have just used this camera for a couple of week, but it performs super. I've used camcorder that cost 4 times more and they were not as good.

I would buy it again
For the price, this is the best video camera I've ever owned. Pros: Great picture, lots of frame rates choices, great manual controls, love the ND filters, great battery life, pro audio, good zoom, excellent in low light, inexpensive for all you get. Cons: Difficult menu buttons to navigate, LCD is not touch screen, lens cap is not incorporated with the camera hood (easy to loose or forget).

Crystal Clear
This camera has crystal clear pictures. I absolutely love it and would recommend it to anyone. I own a small business that operates bounce houses and an ice skating rink; we intend to use the camera in both operations for marketing purposes. I did order an extra battery and 2 storage cards so that I could record everything I possibly could think of in single day shoots.

Not crazy about it
I use this for shooting steadily handheld, well lit minimal action shots. I shoot bodybuilders posing outdoors and indoors, slow movements. I need to walk in on shots so I use auto focus which I have found to be HIGHLY unreliable. Even after the camera finds focus it loses it randomly and for not much reason: (too close, no light, subject not in the middle of the shot)

Great Cam for price
First off if you're even considering this camera I extremely recommend you using a Lexar 128GB Professional 1000x UHS-II SDXC Memory Card (Class 10, UHS Speed Class 3) b/c if not the camera will have problems processing the footage. I use Avid Media Composer and it will not even read the data from any card less than the one I suggested. The camera is great but only if you have a high memory card in place otherwise don't bother, get yourself a cheap camcorder. U have to use the right equipment to make anything work. You can't go cheap on everything.

Nice camera
I've had this camera for about two weeks now. I like that it is light and easy to travel with. I've used this camera for interviews and it works great for my purposes. It also did a lot better in low light situations that I imagined. The zoom is fantastic on the camera and the buttons are easy to navigate. Another great feature is the remote control. I didn't think I needed it but I've used it a bunch of times and love it. It's just a free added bonus of the camera.

I plan to buy another camera to use very soon.
We use the camera for sporting events and motorsports short track racing, dirt and asphalt. This is the most complete camera for our use that is currently available under $2,000. It is much better than the previous Sony cameras we used, the NX3 and NX5 or the Prosumer CX900. The quality is sharp, zoom is great, XLR inputs and camera manual adjustments are easy to use.
