Sony FE 70-200mm f/4 G oss
The 70-200F4 is so much lighter, and so much less painful around neck or to hand-carry that it became the good choice. I bought this about a month ago and I am glad the weight at F4 minimum I found this lens to be very sharp and with excellent shallow depth of field. Its lightweight means that I can carry and use a telephoto most of the day without getting tired compared to a very much heavier and more expensive F2.8 70-200 lens. This lens is good for my panorama shooting and landscape. I recommend who like to carry around lightweight.

Great Lens
I was going on an Alaska cruse and bought the Sony A6300 and wanted a good lens to match it. I was waiting for the f/2.8 to become available, but it was still on preorder so I purchased this lens. I'm not a professional but people have told me that the pictures that I have taken with this lens look professional. When zooming to the 200mm the lens would be slow to focus or not at all, not a big deal just manually focused or zoomed out. the images have great detail, color and when doing portraits excellent bokeh.

Fantastic choice
First of all, B&H Photo always gets two thumbs up! This lens was an excellent choice! Although I am primarily a Canon DSLR shooter, I tend to carry my Sony mirrorless camera on vacation trips. For my most recent trip, I decided I wanted a 70-200 lens, but I didn't see the need to spend so much on the f/2.8 - with that said, I happily opted for the f/4. It performed extremely well - I have zero complaints, and am very happy with it. Here are a few photos, taken with ambient light only.

Great Lens
I put this lens on my Sony a6000 and after a dozen pictures outside of my front door I knew it was a keeper. I then took it kayaking on a lazy river and was amazed at the clarity of long distance shots that I took with autofocus from my kayak at things that I could barely see and the distraction of my boat trying to turn in the current. Most of those pictures with being in a handheld camera in a twisting boat in the gently rocking water came out amazingly good.

Razor Sharp and Well Built
Very, very happy with this lens - it's exactly what you'd expect from premium glass. Sharp, great colors, fast to focus, well built. I liked the additional zoom on the sel70300g, but preferred that this is not an extending/telescoping lens, and a constant f/4. A big white lens isn't exactly stealthy, but people really DO seem to stay out of my way when I'm using it... and then also ask me how their camera works. (Take that as a positive or a negative...)

Good accessory for Sony @7/r
This lens adds to the versatility of the FE mount Sony cameras. I am very happy with the quality of this lens. It is somewhat heavy and large compared to the very small size of the camera. You will need a foot-plate to use it on the tripod because it is much heavier than the camera. Another caution is that one will have to hold the lens rather than the camera when carrying it while attached to the lens. I am happy with the performance of the lens so far.

Beautiful glass
Great glass, fast focus. Absolutely crystal images. Beautiful Bokeh. Well worth the money. This is a large and heavy lens, but if compared to the Canon & Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 it is a major lightweight. For the price I wish is was also an f/2.8 instead of f/4. That would also add a lot to the weight. Zoom is internal so the length of the lens stays the same and there isn't any lens creep since it's all inside the lens body. Very glad I have this lens.

Good combination of features
I like this lens a lot. The images are good; with an A7R body the combination is light enough to carry around all day. The zoom is internal so the length of the lens is constant, and the focal length doesn't change by itself when you're carrying is around. The aperture at f4 is more than adequate for all my daylight work, and for what I'm doing is better than the f2.8 which would have been as heavy as the 400mm. What's not to like!

Great Lens!
As a landscape photographer who has migrated to making images of the 'intimate landscape' this is the perfect lens for my new A7R II camera. Focus is right on and quick. I love the weight compared to other 70-200mm zoom lenses that i have been carrying around. The lens hood is first rate and designed to really protect from stray sidelight. I only wish that Sony would make it in a black finish to match the A7R line of cameras.

Light and easy to hold, good IQ
This lens is an excellent compromise. I own Canon 70-200mm f/2.8 II and Canon 300mm f/2.8. This lens is much easier to hold than the Canon lenses. I miss the smooth bokeh I get with the Canon lenses, but enjoy using this lightweight lens that provides good IQ. The new Sony 70-200mm f/2.8 will hopefully equal it's Canon counter, but at the cost of the easy of use for the lens I purchased. I am pleased with my purchase.

Perfect Addition to FE Mount Lineup
Provides professional quality results. Excellent sharpness at all settings. Great contrast. No noticeable distortions. Lightweight and easy to carry around. This lens is with me on all nature hikes now. User manual could be improved regarding use of the focus hold button. Would also like another Sony zoom lens of the same caliber with a longer reach (400mm or higher).

Fast Handling
The lighter weight and smaller size makes for quick handling. I like the internal zoom mechanism which keeps the barrel length the same at all focal lengths. Resolution is very impressive---sharp and good contrast. The stabilizing system makes sharp images possible even with hand holding. This is becoming my normal lens that I will have on my camera most of the time.

Great for Landscapes
I purchased this lens for landscape work.. Focus is a snap in both manual and auto. The images are sharp and the color rendering is beautiful. The lens balances nicely on the A7II body and the tripod foot allows easy rotation which facilitates portrait mode panoramas. I have had the lens for a couple of weeks and have not found anything about it I don't like..

Amazing piece of glass!
I bought this lens for my a7 which i never regret. The picture quality from this lens is amazing. The construction of this lens is a top notch and built like a tank. I don't find it huge or heavy and it complements well with the body of the camera. I screwed my camera strap in the lens tripod handle when I carry this lens to support the camera body.

Wonderful acutance
I received the lens, put it on my Sony a7R, and shot an aerobatic show. Of course, acutance is limited by hand-holding, manual focusing error, airplanes moving at 40 kt to 200 kt -- but most images show fine detail on the airplane when the image is a big loop of smoke and a tiny aircraft -- I printed 17 x 22 inch prints that are wonderfully sharp.

Sharp and Steady
I have only used it one day so far and I think the lens is great. At the full 200mm it seems a lot longer than I expected and I had to back off a little. Then, from the passenger seat of a moving car, I made several hand held test shots on a winding country road. Everything was in perfect focus and as surprisingly steady.

Light and Sharp
I have both the f/4 and f/2.8 versions of this lens. Both are very close optically, the F/2.8 has the advantage for sports and low light situations - but is very heavy. The f/4 is very light and works perfectly on my FS7 without my rod/matte box support. The focus in manual is a bit hard to control, that was worth -1 star.

A great lens on the A7II
I have only had this lens a few weeks and have had a lot of fun using it. It adds quite a bit of size to the camera, however, it still fits in my camera bag while attached to the camera. I have only used it outdoors in decent lighting so far and in those conditions it works beautifully. Works great with the A7ii.

Great Lens
Great lens, it is a great addition to the FE lineup. I was worried it would overwhelm the A7, it doesn't. After a few weeks of use I'm really enjoying the versatility of it, I'm using it more than I had anticipated. Once again while it is not a cheap lens, you seem to get what you pay for. Great quality.

Superb for wildlife
I rented this lens for a safari in Africa with my A6000. It was the only lens I took. With the crop factor and the 24megapixal sensor, I was able to get fabulous close up photos of leopards, lions, birds, etc. I am selling my Canon equipment and plan to use the proceeds to purchase one of these.

Solid build quality, great OSS, just an all around beast
This thing is heavy! But its rock solid. May be my favorite Sony E mount lens yet, feels like a real deal piece of equipment. Paired with a fast focusing body like the a6500, this thing rips! Love this. Wish it was half the weight and half the price, but that's likely not going to happen lol!

Excellent zoom for A6500
I tried this lens out on a A6500 and can verify the AF is quick and accurate. This lens provides sharp, high contrast, images. Subject isolation is enhanced with pleasing bokeh. The lens has a high quality build and I like the fact the barrel doesn't extend during zooming.

Wonderful lens
Just rvcd my lens from B&H and as usual perfect delivery. Don't miss this lens, it is amazing on the A7R and A7S. I can't take this lens off my camera, its that good. Rivals the Canon 70-200 mark II in all catergories. Opens up a whole new world for the A7S and A7R.
