Well Made Camera
I Purchased This Camera After Reading All The Good Reviews, It Is Well Made, Very Bright Lcd Desplay, Have Not Shot Many Photos, But The Photos I Have Shot Are Amazing For A Camera Of This Size, Built Quality Is Very Good, Well It Is A Sony. The Only Thing Is For A Camera Of This Price I Wish It Had A Viewfinder.

Not worth the extra cost over options
I bought this camera after it was enthusiastically recommended to me as a camera to use when a DSRL is not practical, and something to carry in briefcase for everyday use, with high image quality, and good low light sensitivity, both of which it has. Great Carry Everywhere Camera
I am traveling and use my Sony RX 100 daily. The image quality is very good and the video quality is spectacular. I use Lightroom to do editing and upload my photos to Flickr. It is a very good low light camera and is excellent for people and landscape shots. The battery life is excellent. I have a Canon 7D, but did not want to lug it around Australia. Solid quality camera
The camera is of VERY good quality w/crisp clear photos. It's fun to play with while learning about all the many features (which is great for photo enthusiats). I own an older 8 megapixel Sony which took good photos but this DSC-Rx 100 is worth the price paid for quality photos.

Best Compact Camera out there!
I currently shoot with a D800 and that is my go to gear, but I needed a pocket camera that would give me good images when I don't want to carry my gear. I was using a Canon S95 which was good, but the Sony Rx100 blows away that camera. I was quite surprised on how well the images are even when shooting at ISO 1600 it was acceptable with a little tweaking in lightroom from the raw files. Suprisingly sophisticated and small
this takes very detailed pictures in low light. We use it to photo control panels before they ship and want to be able to read small writing on the components without having to take multiple pictures of each panel. This works very well. Wish it would zoom wider but it is still fine.

Powerful All-in-One Digital Cam, but...
Great all around camera for almost everything. Powerful & highly intelligent software. Compact size is great for traveling, but the tiny flash limits its creativity, the auto focus doesn't work too well in dim lit close-up situation, besides, when the flash is used in macro shots, the lens gets in the way & cast shadow that covers almost 1/4 of the picture. Awesome
I use my RX100 to take photos without having to take an SLR setup all over, and it's pretty amazing! The build is very impressive, picture quality is awesome, and the features are more than comprehensive. I shot for a bit with a Canon one series for a newspaper, got out of the business, and this little guy is what I use now. Great quality compact camera
I bought this as a back up to my Canon DSLR for something pocketable. I've had it a couple of weeks now and been really impressed with it's capabilities. The image quality is really good even on higher ISO settings. The Iauto+ setting is pretty good and usually produces a good exposure. The low light performance is very good. Also have to mention the sweep panorama setting which was really good when on top of the Rockefeller Tower! It's more expensive than I would have like to spend but it was the top of my shopping list and I had been given a gift voucher to spend at BH!

Great image quality, great in low light
I bought the RX100 as a wedding present for my daughter, and she's very pleased. As a point of reference, I currently use two DSLRs (Canon 7D and Canon 5D Mk. III, with six Canon lenses) and I also use three compact digital cameras (Sony TX10 to keep in my pocket everywhere I go, Lumix FZ150 superzoom for butterflies, and a Nikon AW100 for snorkeling). Shame on Sony
Now made in China of inferior pieces. I bought RX 100 in September and it is wonderful and beautifully put together. I just bought another this week and there is a NOTICEABLE difference in fit, finish and materials. I looked at the bottom and it is now made in China. Shame on Sony for charging $ and cheapening the camera. Can only imagine what it is like on the inside. No longer will buy Sony products.BH is though the best store anywhere!

Great companion
It won't replace my dslr Asti does not have the speed, the flexibility of interchanging lenses. The quality of image is amazing though. Almost as good as my dslr. The fact that it shoots raw allows an easy integration in my LR4 workflow. Handling is a bit of the weak point. I recommend investing in a third party handle add'on.

Great Small Camera
This is a really fine camera, with most of the features of a SLR, but it will fit in your pocket. Picture quality is excellent. Menu system is a bit new to me, but I'm learning it. Just a little hard to hold with my big hands.

CRISP RESULTS
Having bought this the very day i was going to an indoor live rock concert i didn't have much time to study the manual . but with a little photography knowledge and common sense it was easy to navigate through the in camera menu in a dark environment. Also helped by the large 3 LCD screen with brightness control . Excellent point & shoot camera
This is a nice fast & small camera, one bonus is that the flash seems to light scenes perfectly in a variety of conditions whether macro or portraits.

Great camera!
Very good for indoors photos. Great Zeiss len, with perfect luminosity. The movies are good too. The localization of the flash causes a little difficult in handling the camera. But, overall, it's a great acquisition.

Great take along camera
When I leave home for a bicycle ride I like to take a camera. I never know what I will see of interest. When I go on vacation I take a camera to record anything of interest that I come upon. This camera is excellent for taking picutres and then printing them at 16 by 20 size for the Livonia Camera Club and for my own collection of photos.

Great Camera!
I really love night and available light photography and wanted a high quality pocketable point and shoot. So far, this camera has been fantastic. The high ISO performance is considerably better than I was getting with my Canon S95. The shutter response time is also quick. I'm still learning this camera, but so far I am very pleased. I've taken several hand held night shots of Christmas light displays and have had a high number of keepers. What's not so great is the price.

WHEN I BOUGHT THE RX100, I HAD HIGH EXPECTATIONS...AND SO FAR, IT'S BLOWN ME AWAY! THE QUALITY, EASE OF USE AND SIZE ARE AN INCREDIBLE COMBINATION. I GOT THE CAMERA TO SNAP A LOT OF HIGH QUALITY PHOTOS OF MY KIDS WHILE ON THE RUN. WITH A 3-YEAR-OLD AND A 1-YEAR-OLD, KEEPING UP WITH THEM IS TOUGH...BUT THE INCREDIBLY FAST LENS AND LOW LIGHT CAPABILITIES MAKE THIS CAMERA A DREAM.

I bought this camera as a gift. The person was extremely happy to receive it. I can't write too much about it because it has not been used much so far. But the person I gave it is going on a long trip to far Asia to some wonderful places and hopefully will be able to capture some amazing images.
