This Camera Was Made for Me
I was torn about buying this camera (for me it was a real investment). Even though Im a noob to filmmaking, Ive been around cameras and filmmakers most of my life. There were a lot of naysayers about this unit, but I just kept seeing the checkmarks for things I needed in a camera. 4K. Mirrorless. Huge Sensor (not FF), Mic Jack, Log Shooting, Proxy Shooting, Selfie Screen, Battery Life, Overheat Resistant. The list goes on. I did my research, and I knew what was right for me and what didnt matter as much at my level. This camera was made for me.

Love this camera!
Im a long time Nikon shooter, relying on my D500 for BIF and other action shots, like dogs running. I tried the early Sony Nex models, and went all the way to the a6000 before selling my Sony gear and buying an Olympic mk5ii and lenses,which were nowhere near as good as the a6000. Great camera with much to offer at a bargain price
I got tired of hauling my DSLR gear to airshows and other flying events I enjoy. So, I switched to a small affordable mirrorless camera to save weight and space. Sonys cutting edge technology combined with B&Hs legendary availability and rapid shipping filled my need. I got my a6400 with the 18-135mm kit lens and am delighted with the package deal. The attached photos were taken at 135mm with the kit lens. Although it took time to master the menu and program the camera, the reward for doing so is well worth it.

Great for Video & Photos!
This is an all around great camera for extra sharp 4K video and stunning photos. Its light, compact, and has the best autofocus around. The flip up display is also a nice feature.

A whole lot of technology in a convenient package
The iPhone has a convenient camera but when I want a sharper, in focus image, I take the Sony a6400 along. Looking forward to all the great features built into this super little travel camera. Mastering the custom buttons is a challenge but then again so is any computer! I would recommend it to a friend.

Great all around Camera
Ive been a Canon guy for a long time, but since they dont have a 1080 120fps, 4k, log, mid range camera, I went to Sony... There are a few corks i dont like, but over all, a great camera

Focus Menus
The camera takes outstanding pictures. The only issue I have with it is the focus menus are outrageously confusing. There must be a better way to automatically put it in tracking focus, really. So I can not recommend it to any person that has problems with following menu selections and wanting a camera with little hassle as possible. So if one feels challenged by menus do not buy this camera. But then again one can set it to automatic and shoot away. But you dont need this camera to do that.

Auto focus is amazing
I have been shooting with the a6400 for a couple weeks and love it. The Eye AF is amazing. Makes taking photos of my young children stupid easy.

Great BTS cam!
I cant speak on its photo capabilities as I purchased specifically as a BTS camera during my projects. Tracking is better
I like it better than my A6300 . The tracking is better, and I like the My Menu feature. Other then that I dont see much difference .

No IBIS no problem.
That was my only worry and it was for nothing. I can get more stabilized videos with this and a non stabilized lens than I could with my canon T7i and a stabilized lens. Maybe its the weight of the lens and cage? It has some amazing 4K I have no complaints its awesome. Shipping took 1 day. Amazing camera amazing service.

Great for vlogging, and everything else!
The biggest critique on this camera was that it didnt have IBIS. From what Ive experienced, its not that necessary as its a minimal difference when youre actually walking around. Most cameras with IBIS would be heavier and bigger. This is such a compact camera with great color science, upgraded AF and processor. The mic placement may not be ideal, but if you have a a6300 cage, you can use that to place the mic on the right side of the camera.

In love with this camera!
My first medium range camera but it feels extremely professional and durable. I bought the $998 version with the smaller kit lens but it has everything I need for daily pictures and vlogging. Ill buy a smallrig cage or bracket because it does block the selfie screen so I can attach Rode microphone but so far no real issues. Get a few extra batteries if youll be recording or taking videos all day. Good job Sony.

Great camera for video and travel
The size is compact, lens is good for travel with its 18-135mm zoom range. The screen can be flipped 180 degrees, so I can use it to take selfie or record a vlog. It has state of the artimage quality and supports up to 4K/30fps video recording. Hope someday Sony can make it to 4K/60fps but thats a long way to go. Great camera for a great price.

I shot on Nikon for years before moving into Sony mirrorless. I currently own an a6000 and an a7ii and am very familiar with them. I was looking for something to shoot video with (specifically YouTube and interview videos) so I liked that this didnt have the 30 minute limit. Awesome Focus tracking and Eye AF with adapted glass (Canon)
The camera is awesome with the new Focus tracking. Eye AF enabled with the shutter button half pressed is fantastic and accurate even in low light. I am very surprised that my MC-11 with Canon 70 200 II glass is very accurate and tracks subject like the Sony 100 400 FE GM lens. Nice upgrade from a6300
Been waiting on these features for bracketed photography! Battery life is better and Ive used the flip up screen way more than I thought I would. Nice to have long recording times too without overheating! BH is the best.

Well worth the price!
At first reading the specs it might seem like its lacking with no IBIS and limited touch screen functionality but boy was I in for a surprise. This is an excellent option for beginner or intermediate photographers or even videographers. The a6400 is faster on start up than the a6500 and has unlimited recording time for video. The autofocus is crazy FAST and battery life does seem to be improved. Very happy with this purchase.

Worth every cent!
We purchased a Sony A6300 as a B camera and it quickly became a solid A for projects that we need to have a small setup. With the improvement in the A6400 this camera is going to me amazing. After watching several review and keynotes on this camera we sold our a6300 and purchased this. It is so worth every cent! Amazing low light, 4K, S&Q all for under 1K for the body alone. Its a win all around!
