This lens is really sharp, but what is amazing is that it is that sharp with the 2x teleconverter. It is so light that both my wife and I ,each, can hand hold it while tracking birds in flight. The price is high, but the quality is there, and the price is comparable to other manufacturers.

FYI The fitted case has fitted slots for the 1.4x and 2.0 TCs. So far the lens is living up to its hype.
