Garbage Unit

I bought this product hoping to correct a problem I had in Studio One with dropouts, popping, cracking, and latency. I figured, Presonus to Presonus. It has to work, right? Boy, was I wrong! I've owned a number of interfaces and this is by far the worst I've used. The problems began right out of the box. I registered the unit and setup was no problem until I chose my product from the drop down menu in Studio One. I found the product in the list and was immediately met with a message stating the unit failed to initialize. After working for about an hour, I finally discovered that changing USB ports worked. I was able to use the unit with no problem. It didn't fix my original issue, but the unit worked fine. Until the next time I tried to use it. Although the USB cable was plugged into the same port where it finally worked before, I again received the "failed to initialize" error message. I shut down Studio One, chose a different port, and went through the opening menus and drop-downs again. Nothing. Shut down again, choose a different port. After choosing multiple ports and troubleshooting to assure there was nothing wrong with my USB ports, I tried again and finally got it working. I shut down again and re-opened. Failed to initialize again. Went through the entire process and finally got it working. I tried using it a couple times after that, with the same process each time. Rinse. Repeat. And it wasn't as if changing from one port to another solved the issue immediately. I would try each USB port I have maybe 3 or 4 times, each time going through the process of shutting down Studio One, changing ports, re-opening the software, choosing it from the menu and it may or may not work. That's unacceptable. I don't want to begin every session having to resolve a troubleshooting issue beforehand. I'm also in the market for a larger interface, but you can bet it won't be Presonus. If your low-end stuff is garbage, it's hard to make the argument that moving up to a higher-end product will help. On another note, I wish to address a serious design flaw in the unit. Who thought it a great idea to put the headphone jack on the back of the unit? It's okay to put things like speaker cables, MIDI, power cables, etc, back there. They're set it and forget it, but there are times when you may want to use different types of headphones and the back of a unit can be a chore for many of us to get to. That's a serious design flaw. Sure, you can make the argument this is a lower-end device, but there are options out there that include a headphone jack on the front that is easily accessible. ... More

I love this product use to own a older presonus vsl audio box and i decided I wanted to give focusrite a try and that did not last long so I went back presonus and I am really happy I did. The sound is sharp clear and the pre amp is awesome also the way it was built and the color they chose is great I love everything about it and so much so that I am soon and I do mean really soon going to upgrade to the presonus 1824c which offers more and better connections and options for a great price for my studio setup. Thanks presonus for doing me and others proud great job on the new line I'm really thrilled.The set up process was easy although I do feel that their should or could be an easier way to install all of the plugins besides that I have absolutely no complaints. ... I bought the Presonus Studio 24C because it seemed to be a cost-effective way to create quality audio recordings in my home studio, and I have not be disappointed. As a trombonist who recently retired from his day job and has taken up serious study of the instrument again, I needed a way to record myself during practice sessions in order to analyze and help improve all aspects of my playing. I found this interface to be plug and play perfect as to the connections and setup using my MacBook Pro, Shure mics and "vintage" Yamaha YS200 midi keyboard, and the bundled PreSonus StudioOne 4 Artist DAW is such a vast improvement over Garage Band that it's well worth a bit of study of the excellent documentation to get it set up for recording. I'm very happy with the quality of the recordings I'm getting, and will probably take this unit "on the road" to create simple two mic stereo recordings of small ensembles that I perform in. Baby's First USB Audio Interface

I've been playing guitar for a long time now but I'm a newbie to home recording and this is my first interface. I know pro's are using interfaces that are much nicer and more expensive but this one does the job well. I'm recording my amp through an SM57 hooked up to this boy and my guitar sounds pretty good (plus I can't notice any latency, which was the most important factor for me at this price point). My favorite thing about this purchase, though, was that it came with Studio One Artist, which is a $100 bonus tacked on to a nice piece of hardware. My only complaint so far (which may very well be a user/computer issue and may have nothing to do with the interface itself) is I occasionally hear a static/clipping sound when I playback my recordings in Studio One. PreSonus is premium mixer makers so no doubt they put some of the same quality build from their mixers to this USB audio device. Great that it's USB-C powered. Works well on both my PC and Mac setup. I like the line level displays as it's very accurate. no humming sound. Had a M-Audio 192/4 prior to this and while that was a great interface, I felt more confident with this one.

This replaced an older interface for me, and is basically everything I wanted from it. The mic preamps aren't terribly colorful, but that's what plugins or external gear (I use an ART preamp/compressor frequently: it's highly recommended at the price) are for. The latency over USB-C is basically zero: I can track through Helix Native with a bunch of other VSTs eating power, and I'm catching every note. Install the drivers for sure: they eat ASIO4ALL's lunch (that's not a dig on the 4All, they're just quite good). So yeah! I purchased this to use with their Studio One software for podcasting. Using standard dynamic mics from Shure and ElectroVoice, you have to turn the volume all the way up to maximum to get a decent input signal. I thought the unit was defective and returned it for replacement. The replacement was exactly the same - so its not a defect, just preamps that could be a lot better. I returned the second one and bought a better recording interface. This unit will probably work fine for instrument inputs, but if you are using it for vocals you will either need a booster for the microphones or you should buy something better. ... More

A sturdy unit, well constructed and sits well on its rubber feet (supplied). It sounds great with the PreSonus Studio 4 Pro DAW, automatically loads on DAW startup (a problem I had with the previous Behringer UMC202HD). Some say the control knobs are small and fiddly, but I find them perfect. Once set, I prefer to keep them there for consistency with my tracks. The headphone socket is on the back of the unit, which may bother some, but I leave my reference headphones plugged in all the time, so no problems. This interface is exactly what was advertised. I needed a quick & easy Setup to use for audio input and this was it. Great value and quality. The build is sturdy. Only complaint would be the rubber feet that you have to stick on yourself. I used superglue to help.

The quality and function of this product exceeded my expectations. I originally saw a review for it on Youtube channel InTheMix. I originally purchased this to record in FL Studio. This product came with the Artist edition of Studio One. I was really impressed with this DAW. I like the fact that it integrates with FL Studio. Thank you PreSonus! I now have a more complete sound studio. I highly recommend this product.

This is my first attempt to record at home. I found the Presonus 24C to be easy to set up and use, and the accompanying software easy to start out with. The software has more bells and whistles than I will ever use, but someone with a more direct interest in recording would, I'm sure, make good use of them. Overall I am happy with this device.

Super simple to use. Plugged it in and it was up and running. Controls are easy to see....like that there's a meter on the front. The introductory Studio One Artist software that comes with it is awesome. Im sold on PreSonus.

this works perfectly with garage band. I record my guitar loops using either emulated out from my amp or I go direct to the interface form my pedalboard. I took one star off because the supplied USB-C cable does not work at all. The USB-C to USB-A cable works fine, although I needed to use my adapter for my new MacBook Pro. Kinda stupid they included a cable that doesn't work. I looked it up online and everyone seems to have this issue.

I bought this based on a youtube video that should an iPad Pro USB-C working with an older 24c, silver edition. I bought the new one in hopes I could use it with my 2020 iPad Pro but it didn’t work. The audio level almost no existent not matter how much gain I gave it. Also the meters on the 24c did not light up at all. Excellent audio interface. Just as I’d expect from PreSonus. Effortless installation to my iMac. MIDI to my Roland keyboard was simple. Mic and instrument inputs are quiet and preamps are warm. Love it!

I use this with two pod mics as an interface to my Mac mini. I record a podcast with a co-host in the same room and then we have people call in via zoom or FaceTime. It was easy to setup and came with studio one 4, I have since upgraded to 5. I keep it plugged in now and use it for my audio out for the computer as well as an interface for the mics whenever needed.

Bought this product from Guitar Center, C24 will not work with Windows 11. Bought 2 year extended warranty, been 4 months and Guitar Center will not honor replacement warranty. They have worked on it twice . Still doesn't work. Going to try to get them to replace it one more time before seeking counsel on this matter.

Functions very well. Haven't really had any latency issues but haven't been able to check latency under high sample rates yet due to my outdated laptop. A major upgrade over my old Lexicon Alpha. Overall good purchase!
