Good things come in small package
I am impressed by the features packed in such a compact body especially the 5 axis image stabilization that works really well in the videos. The image quality is really good. My Nikon D5600 DSLR might have slightly better image quality but the portability and features makes me want to use this more. The only downside is that the battery life could have been better and they should have provided a separate charger. I am not a fan of in-camera battery charging. But you can find a generic one on ebay for less than 10$ so not really a big issue.

Great mid-range MFT camera
Purchased this as an upgrade to my trusty GX1. Image quality is improved and the inbuilt IBIS really works great to improve sharpness. I took one star off because the build quality is quite poor compared to GX1 / 7 / 8. The body is very plastic-y and does not inspire confidence. I normally wouldn't mind too much but given it's price, and the current deals on the GX8 it's not a great value. If you want and entry level / casual MFT camera this is great. If you can save a few more pennies and don't mind the extra size grab the GX8 instead.

convenient
I participated in an Advocate Program on behalf of Panasonic USA. I received product samples as part of my participation. All opinions are my own. After using the camera for a little over a month I have to say it gets the job done. For such a small compact camera, it provides pretty good image quality. I found my self using this camera when I didn't feel like carrying heavy gear or was just panning to go out. I was able to fit it in a small bag or coat pocket and use it whenever. The size and weight definitely made it convenient.

Beautiful pictures and videos
I bought this camera for both stills and video to alongside my GH 5. Mainly I shoot videos but I needed something reasonable for both. The lens kit was ok for me. But then I put on my Panasonic 12-60mm lens and this baby shined. Video quality was as good as my GH5. To me its a smaller version of the Gh5 without the bells and whistles. The 4K video and photos replicate well. It was so much easier than my GH5 to operate out of the box. Its light and simple to use. Great camera for beginners. Im glad my research turned out well.

Great B camera for GH4 / Dual IS is outstanding
I had been looking for a more compact camera to act as the b cam for my GH4 (the GH4 is small but I wouldn't call it compact). The GX85 totally fit the bill! I've been using it handheld and the IBIS does a much better job with smooth handheld camera work than just about every optically image stabilized lens I've used. The pans are smooth and you don't get that jerky motion so coming in stabilized lenses. Combined with one of the Dual IS compatible lenses and you have IMO the BEST image stabilization available.

The best camera is the one you have on you!
I love the look, feel and quality of this camera. So easy to throw in a bag or jacket pocket and the kit lens is amazingly sharp and nimble. The one big recommendation I would make is getting an upgraded strap that's long enough to have the camera around your shoulder for that or a hand strap. The included neck strap feels cheap and isn't the right configuration for a camera of this size in my view. Quality, ergonomics and weight are all good. A fantastic street camera as well which is my main use for it.

Very good little camera
I purchased the GX85 with 12-32mm lens to be part of a take (almost) everywhere kit, along with the tiny Panasonic 35-100mm f/4-5.6, and 20mm f/1.7. It's considerably less bulk and weight than my usual kit which is an E-M5ii and Panasonic 12-35 and 35-100 f/2.8 lenses, along with the PanaLeica 25mm f/1.4. The EVF is a step down from the E-M5 ii, but still very useable for me. For such a small camera, the controls seem well placed. The image quality from the sensor and diminutive lenses is very good.

Fantastic camera!
Got this camera, along with the 12-35 f2.8 lens, just before a trip to Vancouver, BC, I had a little time to review the manual. There's a bit of a learning curve when transitioning from a Nikon D600 but once I figured it out I was extremely impressed with the sharpness of the images. The lens is fixed at 2.8, which takes a little getting used to. I really appreciate the responsiveness of the camera, the sharpness of the images. I still love my D600, but man, this is a pretty impressive camera!

worth every penny
Phenomenal camera if you want an all-around shooter with amazing video. People complain about the lack of a mic in, but really this thing records audio better than any device I have ever owned, including my 150$ Panasonic voice recorder. The video is brilliant, and the 4k allows almost any frame to be used as a still shot. Love it! Only thing I wish it had was a longer life battery option, or at least to be able to run off the USB, not just charge off it while its off.

Great results for small package
I wanted a decent camera that had the adjustable settings I needed but was also small and easy to carry. The GX85 meets those needs rather well. The 2 lenses are good, though you may find yourself swapping them out quite a bit (the 12-60 on the G85 might be a good compromise). Still, you can get some great results with this little camera. Battery life may be limiting for some, but it charges off MicroUSB, so topping off is easy. I'm quite happy with it so far.

Buy extra batteries!
After shooting a couple of thousand photos, I am more than happy with the results. It can compete head to head with my larger, heavier cameras, with no complaints other than its battery life is short, especially if you are using the more power-hungry features. It does not come with an external battery charger and in-camera charges take up to three hours to complete, so if you shoot lots of frames in a day, invest in a charger and some extra batteries.

Nice carry everywhere camera
Havent had a lot of time to test, but on a weekend outing to a German Christmas Market, the camera performed well. Photos looked good to ISO 3200, with 6400 doing ok in a pinch, especially in the lighter parts of the images. Some noise in the shadows, Nice size to carry around all day, especially with the 12-32 mm lens. Was disappointed that it (lens) came without a hood. Havent tried the 45-150 yet, but it is very compact and comes with a lens hood.

Love it, but still lots to learn
I've had it a week or so and used it at a few venues. It is beautiful. There are a lot of buttons and it is taking a while to get used to. I hit something during a photography event I was doing and could not stop to figure it out, so that messed up a few images (focus video or something like that) So in time I'm going to be very comfortable with this, but it is a bit to get used to. But it is a beautiful sturdy product that I'm otherwise loving.

Excellent most underrated Camera
Most underrated and forgotten excellent camera. Sharp, sharp sensor (one of Sony's sharpest sensors). Everything I need. It's like having a GH4 in addition to the in-body stabilizer. What's bad about it? After all those years with BHphoto, no problems, no worries, pro seller and professional people but but...I was supposed to receive a free 45-150mm lens but instead a free coffee mug cup! Be warn, scam from the warehouse folks! Why the 4 stars?

Awesome Camera
Great image stabilization - this was my biggest surprise. Other features that caught my attention: shoot fast action with ease, easy-to-use Wi-Fi connectivity, amazing light capture and 4K video and photo functions - isolates video frames at 30 frames per second as high resolution photos. It gave me excellent results and it's friendly to use. It definitely exceed my expectations because it is an excellent walkabout camera and lightweight.

Just what I needed
I was looking for a small light camera to carry around with me that would produce better images and be more flexible than my Iphone. I used to have a Panasonic LX 3 and really like it for that purpose, so I decided to go with another Panasonic, and B&H had a great deal on this camera. I am still getting used to it but so far the only real complaint is that it is a bit too heavy for its size, but that is something Im sure Ill get used to.

Great Micro 4/3 Snapper
This is quite an impressive camera with all its features. Love the touch screen and the offset viewfinder. The bonus with this camera is the extra lens - a Lumix 45 to 150mm f/4 lens. Oh, and the added goodies of a 32 GB memory card, UV filter and small camera bag add to the bargain buy. The only disappointment with my order - I was never notified that the camera was delivered by FedEx. Lucky no Porch Pirates got to it before I did :-)

Nice camera
My point and shoot camera quit working and was quite dated so I threw it in the trash. HA! This one was on sale so I'll try it. I find it complicated to learn but i'm working on it. So I guess it will take a while to see if I really love it. Battery takes a long time to charge but I can get another battery with a wall charger. Oh, another thing I like is that it's small enough to keep it close in a jacket or shooting vest pocket.

this is my first Panasonic mirror less 4/3rds I have Olympus M4/3rds mirror less and I just love this camera-I find it so easy to change the settings because of the touch screen, love the shots it takes and my favorite mono mode is L mono--- It is small and lightweight I use it with the Panasonic 12 to 60mm lens which is perfect for my needs don't do much street shooting but mostly nature shots up in our mountains on the trail

Great all round performer
I've been using a Lumix GM1 for some time now, it's size and performance make it a great take anywhere camera, however, it does lack a few things to allow for it's small size....a viewfinder for bright conditions, a tilting screen and hot shoe for external flash. The GX85 solves these issues albeit in a slightly larger and heavier package but not so much you don't take the camera with you. Great travel and everyday camera.

Great little camera
I use it as a B-Cam paired with my Lumix GH5 and I love it. In body stabilization is crazy good, it's super small and light. Great image quality in 4K and the screen is amazing. The kit lenses are okay, but what I don't like about the 12-32mm is that there is no focus ring. The 45-150 is a good focal length, but I find myself using the Panasonic 25mm and the 15mm way more on this camera. Overall I love love love it.

Great Performance and Solid Value
Great camera and kit. The GX85 has every feature you will need in a compact camera. In fact, it has so many features that I find David Thorpe's book The Panasonic GX80/85 Menu System Simplified to be very helpful. Everything in the kit is useful, especially the 2 quality lenses that will meet most of your needs. Even the case is top notch. Overall a solid value. I have never been unhappy with a purchase from B&H.

Lovely
I bought the camera with the intent of shooting 4K video with 5 IBIS system in mind, little did I know that this magnificent feature just outshined other specs, like the lacking of v-log or any other video setup preferences... Even though this fact was traumatic for me the camera is excellent make no mistake. Shoots splendid images and videos. I just hope that panasonic will update firmware for gx85 to have V-Log.

Wonderful compact camera
I bought this while on a trip because I didnt bring a DSLR and felt like I was missing out on a lot of opportunities. Im really glad I did - its solidly built, packed with features, and cranks out sharp clear photos all day. The kit lenses are both great, though I could live without the 12-32. I picked up a 20mm f/1.7 which I like much more. I find myself using it a lot still, even when not traveling.
