Panasonic Lumix DC-GH5 Mirrorless Micro Four Thirds Digital Camera with 12-35mm Lens Kit
UPC's:
Best general purpose camera from any manufacturer.
I have been using the GH5 for over a year. I have not used my Canon or Nikon DSLRs since I got comfortable with the camera. Professionals with specific needs still benefit from full frame platforms, but for enthusiasts the GH5 is the swiss knife of photography. What really makes the GH5 a go to camera is the combination of features at your fingertips. Low light performance is one weakness of smaller sensors, but Panasonic's unsurpassed 5-axi... Show More

Great camera for video
I also own the GH4. There are many improvements in the GH5, 10 bit recording, less noise, image stabilization and better slow motion to name just a few. I do have 2 problems with my current workflow. It's difficult to match the video image with the GH4 in 2 camera shoots and the Metabones adapter (EF - M43 mount T) to use Canon lenses does not work with the GH5.

Great photos, great video, intuitive
I found this camera so much easier to quickly learn than several others I've tried. The low light handling is great, too. Perfect for what I need as a prosumer with occasional hired jobs.

Outstanding Color - Great Formfactor
The 422 internal color capture at 4k is amazing! It rivals the C300 mk2. The only real challenge is the codec when editing. You really need a MONSTER of a computer to edit these files "as is". That's why I've only given this camera 4 out of 5 stars. I've just been converting the files to ProRes before I edit them. It's a hassle, but worth the color quality. The Image Stabilization is BANANAS!! Love it. Rock solid images with the IS in-body and in... Show More

From Video Cams to DSL Mirrorless Cams
I know, most people go the other way, but I researched and hoped for a year that a better video camera would come out near this price level. Of course, there is nothing that does 400 mb/s 4K in 4:2:2, 10 bit for under $2K WITH Hybrid or Vlog Log gamma and variable frame rates - in this quality range. I have been using Canon HDV, Sony EX-3's and Panasonic TM series cams for a wide variety of private and corporate projects for years and wanted... Show More

Great camera, but could use improvements
So far, this camera has done a good job in meeting my expectations. It's definitely not a low-light device and does not like situations that require a very high dynamic range. However, the colors and the overall quality of the footage is fantastic. I did not come to the GH5 from the GH4. Instead, I used Sony and Canon. IMO, the menu on Panasonic could be better. It still takes me a while to locate certain menu items. I usually have to a... Show More

I love it
There really nothing I can say that you will read everywhere else. Every tool has its place, and this camera system is the best compromise/value for what I need it to do. I would not have another camera on the market right now, or likely in the near future.

Exceeded my expectations!
A great little work horse when combined with the XLR hot shoe adaptor. Very happy with excellent HD and 4K video performance. A great little "run and gun" camera.

The perfect mirrorless camera for video
Since DSLRs and other large sensor cameras have been used for video, I've always loved the look they create, but hated the process of getting there, until now. I spent years working in broadcast TV, so a small camera that has no XLR audio inputs, no ND filters, is challenging to focus accurately and hold steady has been frustrating, but I dealt with it to get the look that my productions demand. I jumped ship from Canon DSLRs to Sony a few years... Show More

DON'T USE WITH AC ADAPTER!!!!!!
These Cameras are seemingly excellent cameras, however 3 of the original 4 cameras I purchased last July have died due to a power issue on their board. - We bought 4PanasonicDMW-AC10 AC Adapters to extend our cameras for timelapse videography and use them regularly on ac power, but randomly these units have died (won't power on) due to a short on the power module on the board, and the first time this happened, I sent the camera to Panasonic and t... Worth every penny
As a hobbyist photographer and film maker this camera is so far perfect for me. I can accomplish great looking results no matter what I set out to do. It has a crazy amount of settings, but after a few YouTube videos and a few hours of practice I find that I can move around without feeling lost. It has a great touch screen and a few different ways to interact with the menus so the user can choose what fit's them best. It has a fantastic mix of pr... Show More

perfect camera
everything about this camera perfect. I have never used such a great product. The things I wanted in the gh4 have all been added to the gh5 like dual sd card and in body stabilization with still maintaining good battery life. the only thing I wish they added is more options for codecs other than h.264. otherwise best product for the price. no regrets.

Amazing camera, well worth the money.
The only part that is sub-par (in my opinion), is the auto focus. Besides that, this camera is amazing and if a shoot requires me getting another camera, Ill probably get another.

I just sold this camera and bought the G9. No regrets! Way better video! Yes, Video! And better photography! it's like you have it on a gimbal. The GH5 is great, but G9 is better.

Outstanding Upgrade from the GH3
This is the camera I've been waiting for. As a GH3 user since 2013 I had been impressed with the quality of not only the video but of the stills capabilities as well. The GH5 is a substantial leap in capabilities from the GH3 in all areas of performance. While I've only had the camera a few weeks, Ive been impressed with the potential this camera holds. Amazingly good MFT camera
GH5 levels up with waveforms and scopes, usable 120 fps, amazing 5-axis stabilization (when paired with dual I.S. lenses) and more customization than you could ever need. There's a "tripod mode" stabilization feature called I.S. Lock that no one is talking about that's truly a game changer for in-camera stabilization.
