A keeper and a winner!

Jun 10, 2017

This is my very first mirrorless camera and first Olympus as well. I had been looking for a new ICL camera for a while; I did a lot of research, read reviews, and also had to take into account my budget. I took the opportunity B&H offered (I have been a happy customer of this phenomenal store since 1992!) and purchased this one. I am very happy to report that I could not be happier! Yes, I have not tried the many features of this precision machin... Show More

1st batch production halted

Sep 9, 2015

I purchased this on release, it arrived in time for my trip out-of-town for a Civil War reanactment fesitval. I was excited to try this new baby out as I have used OME5 Mark2 before. What I liked was it's super light. Even lighter than the OME5m2. Sturdy built. What I did not like was the Wifi/Smartphone control connectivity was aweful. I held my HTC M9 right next to this OME10M2 and it would not connect. Or when it did, it would disconnect just ... Show More

Amazing little camera

Apr 8, 2019

I bought this for two reasons. I have several 4/5 lens for my dji inspire pro, and figured I might as well use them when not on the drone. I also hoped my wife would like it and use for her birds and such. I had a OM-1 back in my film days, but wasnt overly crazy about it. Im a canon guy now since 1985. Pentax before that. So, wasnt expecting much more from this than just a grab and use sometime. Menus and the encluded manual drove me crazy getti... Show More

Very good camera but they messed up the grip

Dec 11, 2016

This camera takes great pictures, but I returned it because of ergonomic issues. I had a Mark I version and I liked the straight grip. For some reason they angled the grip on this one and it made it uncomfortable to curl my finger. Additionally Olympus puts a sharp edge on the bottom front of the camera that you see in the front view of the camera, just below the face where the lens mounts. This edge is extremely uncomfortable (on nearly all of t... Show More

Upgrade is a big Plus for Polarized sunglass users.

Mar 5, 2017

I've not had the ii long, but have had the mark i for some time and have used it extensively. I really liked the mark i and hadn't really planned to upgrade till I heard the OLED EVF worked with polarized sunglasses. My distance vision is relatively good but as is normal, my reading vision has deteriorated a lot with aging. I have varifocal polarized sunglasses which work well for everything but using the EVFs on earlier OMDs. I heard the OLED wo... Show More

Great camera..... but puzzling bundle

Oct 16, 2017

I'll be short and succint- the E-M10 II may be the best value in the OM-D family. The E-M10 II lacks the E-M5 II's high res mode, has a smaller EVF and lacks weather sealing- however, aside from those points, it is almost identical. And the E-M10 III? If you dont need 4K, skip it and save the $$ for the E-M10 II. Yet, as my title states, this bundle is quizzical. The 12-50 is acknowledged to be a tad less of a performer optically than other Olymp... Show More

Great Mirrorless Camera

Dec 7, 2017

I purchased this camera earlier this year as a second camera for my E-5. Although the E-5 is a great camera, it is one of the heaviest, if not the heaviest, DSLR. I also didn't want to spend a boatload of money for a second camera and lenses. After taking the E-5 on several trips with one and sometimes two extra lenses, I decided to purchase a lightweight camera for an upcoming trip to Spain. First, I tried it out in New York City and the Berksh... Show More

I was on the fence with this camera with the same misgivings that some of you may have...new system, new lenses, small camera body, etc. But I took a chance and bought camera with the 2 kit lenses expecting to be disappointed. I live in the NYC area so I went for a walk at the Bronx Zoo and Bronx Botanical Garden. Mar 25, 2018

I was looking for a camera that would perform better than my Nikon D7100. This is the camera. Recently I bought a Nikon Reflex-Nikkor 1000mm 1:11 lens. This lens hasn't been updated since 1976 and hasn't been made since 2005 so no auto-focus, VR, or anything modern. When you pair these two items up it is incredible. The camera has focus peaking which is the best manual focus assist you can get and the VR on this model offers 4 f/stop advantage wh... Show More

Love this camera, extreme power in a small package

Jul 5, 2016

Not a professional, and not paid to write a review. Aspiring enthusiast hoping to break into underwater photography. I love the size and function of this camera. Pretty much everything I could have hoped for. Pros: Small size, IMAGE STABILIZATION, great clarity, tons of custom and art settings, button lay out, feel of camera in your hand, wifi and geotagging, full time manual focus is great, in general it seems like the manufacturer really took t... A pretty good deal

May 31, 2016

This is a good deal at the $699 price. The 14-42 mm lens is meh, but the 40-150 is a nice, sharp lens for the price. With a full-frame equivalent length of 80-300, it can capture a lot, basically making a building across a city block seem next door. The camera itself is a mini powerhouse. Despite it's small size, it is pretty easy to handle and control with the oversized control knobs on top. Those with big hands might want to spring for the exte... Show More

Huge deal for the numerous advanced features offered! i

Apr 28, 2017

I bought the camera for the plethora of features offered in a mirrorless, very handsome, relatively small camera, at a most attractive price ($599). Its main advantage (as far as I am concerned) is the excellent viewfinder - all the little screens of my previous cameras were difficult to make out in sunlight! For all intents & purposes the viewfinder greatly increased my picture framing ability under ALL light conditions, AND the FUN of photograp... Show More

Great Little Camera

Feb 12, 2016

As usual, I did a ton of research before making this purchase. I wanted something very good quality yet vary compact for travel and work. Also used as a backup to my full size DSLR. Decided on this system because of the combination of decently large sensor vs camera size. Also contemplated Fujifilm X-T10 but chose this because it is more compact and I think RAW support is better. Very happy with my purchase. Very good quality feel and camera IQ a... Show More

A possible successor to the REAL Olympus Pen F

Nov 7, 2015

I've used Olympus products since 1965 (+/-), when I bought a Pen F. The perfect camera for the times, small, easy to use, excellent optics and mechanics. Wound up with another Pen F and a Pen FV. The M10 could have been a successor, but it's too jammed with unnecessary refinements, it's hard to get to the real camera to make photographs. Simplify, Olympus, get rid of your engineers who add JUNK to a camera, just because they can. Who needs a coup... Show More

Impressive little camera. While I may never really test the full capabilities of the Mark II, it handles well, and keeps important features at your fingertips. I love the simple stuff like being able to adjust EV by rotating a dial with my fingertip while keeping my eye on the subject. Or selective focusing with a tap on the screen. Great Camera, Awesome starter kit

Nov 25, 2016

I'm an amateur photographer who enjoys both studio setup or street photography session. This camera hits eveything right for both situations. The size: perfect for travel and bag storage. But is still great format to work inside a studio. Price: great value. The olympus lens kit is more than enough to start taking great pictures. EVF: I come from a Fuji X Pro 1. So this was a major step up. The quality, clarity and color of the olympus evf is simple the best. I totally recommend buying this camera. One note though: get the grip. It will give a much much confortable body for your hands.

Love this Beautiful Camera!

Feb 21, 2017

I had a miserable experience with a certain other national mail-order company and finally gave up and returned their cameras that were defective right out of the box, possibly due to non-existent packing around the camera box during shipping. In selecting this camera I spent some time talking with a B&H rep who was extremely helpful, so I ordered the camera. When this camera package arrived from B&H it was well packed and worked great right out of the box. I have so enjoyed the wonderful pictures and ease of use of this camera. B&H will be my 'go-to' store for my future camera needs.

Loved it but..

Sep 16, 2015

I had the camera for two weeks and then discovered that auto focus only worked when the camera was in continuous AF mode. I contacted Olympus and they said it was defective and return it. I contacted B&H and was expecting a hassle but was very happy to find they were happy to help me exchange the camera. I have not receive the replacement camera as I just returned the original. Until I discovered the defect in AF, I was very happy with the camera. The photos were clear, the IS was fantastic and it did what I hoped. I had a e-M10 before and loved it, but this is better.

Excellent camera

Sep 13, 2016

I upgraded from the EM10: many improvements: better placement of on-off switch which is more like the EM5ii an EM1, more function buttons and better placement of those buttons, bright view screen, and better ergonomics. The menu is the same as other models and has the same options so my learning curve was more like a straight line. Make sure to get the ad-on grip--worth getting for additional stability. Menu is sunlight readable and very easy to follow. Your lens choice will make the difference--worth it to get the 12-40 f2.8--a wonderful travel lens.

A fun little camera.

Mar 20, 2016

If you're coming from DSLR land, don't make the mistake of overhyping yourself on this (or likely any) 4/3 camera. The OM-10 mkii looks so sweet in the pictures but I really must say it's surprisingly tiny. This is what I wanted, a small light camera for backpacking, but it's not going to be an easy transition. The low light performance can't touch a full frame 35mm DSLR, which is sad because my favorite photos are the ones where the light is trickling in. Think of it as an iPhone 6 with interchangeable lenses. Except it doesn't do panoramas.

Good Camera

Feb 13, 2017

Second OM-D camera after owning the original EM-5. Want to take advantage of an Olympus camera without the AA Filter. Have shot about two dozen pictures in auto, I'm happy with the results. I also recently bought a GX-85 (from B&H) and am nerdy happy with the pictures. Both cameras are perfect for an amateur like who shoots mostly family and vacation pics. I put my money into buying the professional glass from Oly and Panny. Can't go wrong with 4/3s in terms of size of the equipment or quality of pics. Plus, B&H is a no.brainer.

What I Was Looking For

Mar 23, 2017

Much to learn. As an old photographer who had not done much since the 1970's I have been looking to get into digital photography. This camera replaces my first attempt ( an Olympus E-PL1 which could take good pictures, but was neither fast or easy to use). The M10 and 12-50 lens combination is a good upgrade. It is much faster to focus, the menus are better and faster to navigate. The camera and lens have a good solid feel in hand and use. And the viewfinder is great. There is much to learn and I am looking forward to that.
