LOVE THIS TRACKBALL!!!
I use my trackball with my Gateway laptop. It gets too hot to keep on my lap, and I often work long hours on it as I work from home. Handicapped?Other Options May Be Better
My wife uses the Orbit Optical Trackball on her computer, but I also need to use it from time to time to access company financial reports. I am a handicapped graphic designer and use a Kensington Slimblade Trackball on my other (main) computer. Beats a mouse every time
I've got four of these things. They sit in one spot and take up no desk space. Forefinger moves the ball, thumb and middle finger do the clicks. I can't imagine why anyone uses the desk hogging mouse. This particular product has a free ball, so be cautious while moving it from place to place as you might with a lap top. Good product if it fits your hand
I purchased this to replace an aging trackball. Initially I was not sure about the ergonomics because the buttons felt too close to the marble. After a week I seem to have adjusted to it. The base is a little light but doesn't move around on you and the buttons require a bit more pressure than I'm used to. I've never used anything but trackballs in twenty years, beginning with two early Kensingtons that had multiple differently color-coded and weighted billiard balls! They were the best I my opinion which is why I buy Kensington. All in all, I think this is excellent value for the money.

Coolest mouse ever
Been using this mouse for years ever since it first came out and it' amazing. I have one for my desktop at home my laptop and my work computer. I don't get why more people don't use em. It's fast smooth and eliminates having to keep dragging around your desk struggling b to move the cursor. Not to mention u technically don't even need a desk to use it. Absolutely great product for professionals who I sit in front of computers for long hours or everyday users who just want a more efficient mouse.

Orbit Optical Trackball - Fantastic!
Make this a rating of 4.5. This trackball does everything I wanted it to. Got it for my Mac Powerbook - felt like I needed something that provided a bit more control when I wasn't on the go. It does that quite well! The only issue I have with it (hence the -.5) is that the ball itself just sits in it's position. I'd prefer one that fits snug so that when I move, I wouldn't have to worry about the ball rolling around. Other than that, great product!

Faint high-pitch noise/beep
As a longtime Orbit Optical Trackball fan, I was disappointed to realize my brand new Orbit causes both my 2009 and 2015 MBPs to emit a faint high-pitch noise/beep that's audible in a quiet environment. The Orbit looks exactly like my other ones, so I'm not sure if the technology has changed. Tech support said return it to B&H Photo for a replacement. I'm still giving it 5 stars hoping it's a quirk and that the replacement will be just fine!

Same Old Orbit -New Disappointing Driver
Have been using orbit trackballs since my mac laptop was black plastic. One of the best features of the driver, Mouseworks was that it was user programmable - you could enter any keystroke sequence and assign to a button or chord - in the new driver (the only one compatible with Lion) - this feature is missing. I am hoping they fix this -because orbitals are amazing....

Nice Trackball
After getting used to how the mouse works, I've become really comfortable with it and have had no problems. The layout works great for me. I give it 4 stars because there is no scroll wheel. I downloaded a program that lets me scroll by holding down the right button, which works alright. I like it a lot more than other mice that I've tried.

Smooth, dependable trackball at a good price
Trackball works smoothly and side buttons are easy to access after some practice. Before purchase, you should consider the lack of scrolling function on this device. I can easily access scrolling on the screen or on my keyboard but had to make the adjustment from using a mouse where scrolling was integrated.

Probably Best Mouse for a Mac Designer
I'm a graphic designer and I've got an Apple Magic Mouse, but I don't have room to do big sweeps in Photoshop, etc. with a mouse so I bought this Kensington Orbit Trackball. I plugged it in to my Mac Pro, 30 Display USB port and it worked immediately. It's a workhorse. I like it.

Quick & Easy!
I have used the Orbit Optical Trackball for years on both my work and home computer. No more tired wrist and once I got used not having to move the entire mouse it made all work applications and home surfing quite simple and enjoyable. My entire family approves!

Orbit Optical Trackball
Tried numerous trackballs in the past but all were problematic in one way or another. The Orbit I just purchased replaces one that wore out after more than five years of service. These are definitely a great value for the money in every venue.

Have a Ball...
This is my favorite track ball, period! I don't like mice because they cause me wrist pain and take up much more space. Of all the trackballs, I've tried, this is the only one I will use. Perfect relation between ball and buttons.

Awesome Mouse
I'm using this mouse on two different computers, Vista and W7 and works fantastic on both. this is the BEST trackball mouse I ever bought, no errors, compatible, no sticking or problems at all. Super mouse, thanks bunches.

Great alternative
A nice inexpensive alternative to a graphics tablet. This trackball works easily and precisely with my photo editing programs and has some custom-ability with various programs . The price is right too. Highly recommend

Excellent value for the money
I've been using trackballs for years and when my old Kensington Orbit died I replaced it with the optical version. It's comfortable, no more cleaning junk and dust off rollers, and it looks cool too.

Love It!
Have used the old Kensington Orbit for years and got tired of cleaning the contacts every other week. This update (optical) seems to have alleviated that problem. Highly recommended!

wonderful track ball.
