Still as good as ever.
Having purchased Astro A40’s in the past many years ago, I knew what I was getting into. The headset itself is very comfortable, even where wearing for an extended period of time . The sound quality is still excellent and the build is virtually bulletproof. The mix amp is a great bit of kit, easy to use and adjust to the perfect mix of chat and game audio. My last set of Astro A30’s lasted five years and I don’t anticipate any problems with these. They maybe pricey but they’re worth every penny.

Astro A40s are amazing
I bought these Astro A40s TR to replace my old headset the Px21s and they have exceeded my expections which were pretty high. They're everything you would want from a headset the design, sound quality, connecting them up is easy and they're very comfortable. So if you have the money definitely get one of these headsets as its one of the best headsets around, but I would highly recommend you get the one with the mix amp pro so you can use this headset and it's features to its maximum potential.

THIS COULD BE THE ULTIMATE GAMING HEADSET 4 GAMERS
Its a Really Good Headset, but not the best or perfect headset. Why being a really good headset is that the Mix-Amp That comes with it makes the Sound 2 Times better, Like the Virtual 7.1 Surround Sound is really good such as its Provides me a Best Gaming Experience but after 2 hours of usage of the Surround Sound ON it start to hurt your head a bit. Also its Comfortable, can be used for long periods. the design of the headset is good but heavy and the wires of the connection is very long,

Great headset but watch out for faulty ones..
I saw a few streams use these and I wanted to compare the difference between these and my PS4 headset and the difference is incredibly insane, the price you pay definitely shows... if you're investing in your game play I would highly recommend this item, you're able to control your game play/sound voice ratio and bass ect, gives you a lot of control. Yes the item is on the expensive side but the price reflects the quality of the item, however the first set I brought it was faulty.

Great headset let down a little by the detail
The sound quality through the headphones is superb, and the voice quality of the microphone is the best I've encountered. The DAC gives just the right level of control you need. Now for the CONS... Using micro usb for connectivity cheapens the experience. With the best will in the world gamers will move the DAC which adds wear and tear to the already frail micro usb lead. Also I'm not a fan of some of the sharp edges on the headset itself. Despite this they are still my daily drivers

ASTROS LIVE UP TO THE HYPE
if using with a playstation4 slim you will have to buy an audio splitter to get the digital sound , to be able to use the headphones to full dolby settings as this will then be able to make you plug an optical sound cable into the ps4 slim (you get included with the a40's) which i found one on amazon. when you get the full access to the full dolby of the astros to be honest no other headset i have had has competed close the these well worth the money if you enjoy your games.

Outstanding Wired Headset
I can say this is the best build quality of any headset I have owned. Most parts are replaceable which is great in the long run. As for the Mix Amp, the stock presets may not be for everyone's liking. Unless you are going to create your own presets(via a PC/MAC). So that could be a downer for some. The speaker sound quality is up there with the best. Background noise-canceling is great but the Mic quality is nothing to write home about.

A must for gaming
I'm bought this astro headset system for my PC that I'm upgrading. When you plug them in windows 10 straight away starts to install the drivers so they work. Now then you must press the Dolby button otherwise the sound will sound like a tin can. I've played a couple of games like apex,battlefield and it's awesome. You really can hear the enemy's foot steps which gives you a high average. Very happy with these.

Not compatible with PS4 slim
Bought this for my GF's birthday present. Opened it and threw away the box before finding out it wasn't compatible with the PS4 slim as it has no fibre optic cable port. you buy a dodgy box of Amazon to convert it for about £30 but the reviews say things like "cheap Chinese product, set on fire after 3 months, very dangerous" so now were left with some expensive headphones we cant use :(

Fantastic sound, paired with solid build quality
Pros: - Sound quality is fantastic, with Dolby Surround 7.1 the difference is immediately noticeable. - Build quality, the headset is comfortable, sturdy and built to last. - The mic is detachable, and can also be swapped to either the left or right ear. Cons: - Initially the mic sensitivity was a little low, but this was easily solved with the MixAmp's "Command Center" software.

Astro a40 TR PS4
I had a £250 set of wireless Turtel Beach there were good for a few year but the Astro sound clear to the point you don't miss a thing in chat or in game. They have the best audio quality I have ever listen to for games and music. Bass, mids and highs, you can even change the sound Eq with software from Astro gaming. Get them today a true must buy

The best of the best.
I have bought many "expensive" headphones over the years. Some were very flimsy, others were uncomfortable. After reading many reviews about this model I decided to take the leap and WOW. Build quality 10/10. Comfort 10/10. Sound quality 10/10. The model with the mixer also lets you add mods as an extra. Value for money 10 out of 10. Recommended.

Fantastic product
This is quite simply the best gaming headset I have ever owned extremely comfortable sound quality is amazing the only way to discribe it when I first put them on was it felt like I was in a movie theatre I have only owned turtle beach headsets in the past and thease blow them out the warter in my opinion and I will not be looking back

Paid full price for used damaged item
Wasted 3 hours off my day collecting from store with it in stock to find I had paid full price for a used item which had bits missing and been damaged as was scratched and covered in dirt so returned the item without ever trying it out would of expected better from argos than to be be selling second hand damaged goods at full prices

AMAZING GAMING EXPERIENCE
I bought this headset for gaming and streaming. It is by far the best purchase ive made. Absoulutly amazing audio ! Completely changes your gaming experience for the better ! Wish id bought it sooner !! Ive tried other headsets before but they gave me poorly ears.. and these dont effect me whats so ever ! One very happy customer !

Astro v Turle beach
Purchased the turtle beach 800 first, and have to say after 3 hours trying to set them up found them to be totally useless, took back next day to game the next day. Went to Argos to pick up the Astro a40 best by far, so if you'r looking for a pair of great headphones forget Turtle beach and go for a pair off Astro a40.

Great
Even though they are virtual 7.1 surround sound these are great, all the right noises coming from all the right angles l, they really put you in the game. The astro are also super comfy I have a rather large head and they aren't painfully tight just the right amount so they don't move at all, the mic is great too.

Beats turtle beach 100%
I used to always stick with turtle beaches, decided to give these a go and now I will never buy another turtle beach headset again! Comfortable, sound quality is amazing, you really can hear every footstep. They also look amazing and feel solid! The mix amp gives off a great surround sound experience. 10/10

My new headset
Not the original headset i went in for but once i got home and tried them out they were fantastic good sound , easy comfy fit , simple setup and light. When gaming i can hear every noise and which exact direction its coming from near or far above or below which gives me an advantage over most other people.

Exactly what I was looking for.
before buying this I.hadnthe turtle beach x50 and they never really did the job for the price I paid for them, I saw a lot of people recommend the these (a40's) and I just say they are 100% worth the money. if you play call of duty then these are for you, you can hear people coming from a mile off

The sound is absolutely amazing!
I bought this headset like a Christmas present for my boyfriend, who loves playing computer games. Especially in shooting games, for example PUBG, he can now hear absolutely, absolutely everything! You know exactly which direction is the sound from.. It is awesome! He loves this headset!

GREAT addition to the PS4
My son is the avid user in our house and his old headset had literally disintegrated so bought this as a 16th birthday present. SO easy to get up and running - far superior quality and using the fast track facility at Argos meant it was so easy to buy/pick-up. Great buy all round.

Great headset
Needed a great gaming headset. Iv had a lot of other headsets previously. Great feel and comfort. Volume controls on a side control box so it does not get caught. And even as a bonus. If you wanted to use on the go. It plugs in into my portable device and can be used on the go
