Google Home Mini (1st generation) - Chalk
Helpful little speaker
Brought this just before christmas so i've had some time to play with this, I use this daily to control my LifX light bulb and to play spotify which it does a great job of understanding me. Generally I find this can answer more questions than other branded smart speakers. As for the quality of the speaker its good, speech is really clear and music is alright. If you are buying this mainly for music I would buy its bigger brother the Google home instead.

Google home mini. Well worth the money. Good sound from a little speaker. Not as good sound as the Google home but for the price. It's bargain.

Epic little assistant
I highly recommend the Google Home. It will make you have a 10% life improvement. I've also used the Amazon Echo and can confirm this is much better.

Google Mini
Very useful as I do a lot of crosswords and puzzles and you can get a quick answer, a lot of fun as well and it plays whatever music you like!

Just a platform for a lot more expense.

Google home
bought it for the wife for xmas, which she loves, but when the word google is mentioned on tv or by someone else the google home activates, so voice control is not all that and if was to be used as a home security controls whilst you are away i would think twice or get better information.

Brilliant
Easy to set up. Good quality speakers. All of my music was already uploaded to Google play music so when i ask for an artist or album title she streams it for me. I can also cast music to my speakers through my tablet, using Amazon music & spotify. Extremely happy with purchase. Originally ordered 1 as it was the only one in stock and was so happy I purchased a further 3.

Very useful
Very good product. The voice recognition is the best I have seen, functionality is also fantastic, especially when combined with things like Spotify and Chrome Cast.

Excellent.....but
Reserved this google home mini at our local Argos and set it up no problem at home very quickly !looks very sleek and stylish and sound is really loud and clear and is great for music !the only downside to this device is sometimes you have to shout to her for her to hear you and she will only respond to your questions if the question is said in a certain way otherwise she won’t understand!and considering it’s a google device you would think she would know a lot of knowledge but she doesn’t !

Great google
Great little smart speaker, does everything the big unit does, not quite such good sound as the full version that I have in another room, but still good. And the cool thing is you can use it as an intercom between rooms. Easy to set up easy to use.

A new best friend in every room
The Mini's are robust (I've already dropped one and it came to no harm). Music is produced faithfully and there's an option to alter bass/treble. A much-used function in our house is the 'broadcast' facility to broadcast a spoken message to all devices in the house. "OK Google, broadcast 'it's dinner time'" even includes a dinner bell. The Minis are discrete and, in either of the greys, blend into any room nicely. On the Argos website today (10.01.18), Home Minis are still available at 3 for 2.

Such a great innovation, with huge potential
I've started off with one in the bedroom, acting as a replacement to an alarm clock (setting sleep timers on music at night and daily wake up alarm tones), but add a couple of smart plugs/bulbs and voice activated lighting for dark winter mornings etc is a boon. Plus adding events/reminders to my phones Google Calendar by voice alone is great for productivity

Fantastic gadget.
I bought this thinking what will I really use it for ! Well ive used it for quite a few things from setting reminders, alarms, countdown timer to getting bus times and playing music through it via my free Spotify. Ask it to tell you about my day and you get the time , weather and news. Via the app you download onto your phone to set it up initially you can set preferences for what news it'll access etc. Its not once disconnected from my Home Broadband WiFi. Its voice recognition is on par.
