AFFORDABLE WIRELESS MIC

Dec 26, 2007

For the money you can't beat it. I was searching for half-way decent wireless and Audio Technica came through. A-T makes some great audio equipment for the money. Expertise: Documentary film producer Problems Encountered: The only problem I've encountered so far is that occasionally I experience RF interference; i.e., buzzing causing loss of signal. Items I Recommend: MINI TO XLR Cable and a good mixer

Functional But not clean

Jun 6, 2013

Not good if your looking to record clean audio. Has a bad hiss that is tough to remove in post. Also no volume control for monitor. This is a good example of you get what you pay for. That being said it works fine for PA type systems or if clean audio is not needed such as typical instructional youtube type videos. I returned mine as I needed to have to have clean audio for interviews and such.

Gets the job done.

I use this set up on short film sets and while shooting commercials. I have been able to record quality sound when I used this product. This is an inexpensive wireless option which does work. If you choose this product and use it reasonably it will serve you well. The two channel option has always been enough to suffice for my needs, but this is typically a highly controlled environment.

Capable low cost wireless mic

Dec 19, 2012

I use these for interviews. I was happy to find the T68 frequency versions on sale, they complement the T24 that I already had, so I can mic up to 4 people without interference. The 9V batteries are good for an 8 hour shoot, in my experience. Some people have reported interference problems, perhaps because the transmitter uses the mic cable as an antenna. It is a minimal problem for me.

Simple yet effective wireless microphone

Aug 10, 2010

I'm a wedding videographer so this microphone is great at getting clean, clear audio during the vows. I also use it for getting speakers during interviews for documentaries and it works like a charm. Two frequencies are just enough, and the batteries last for a long time. I bought a 1/4 plug into an XLR so now I can use the mic for both ports for two of my cameras. Great product.

Good Lav System for the Budget Minded

Jun 1, 2011

I needed to get some lavs quickly without spending a fortune and after researching, settled on these. The sound quality is quite good and they work reliably up to about 50 ft. After that, they tend to be prone to dropout or static depending on where you have placed the transmitter on the actor. They are plastic so not the most rugged but in a pinch, these have worked out great.

A very good result for an unusual use!

Oct 24, 2011

We use 2 pairs of the VHF Lavalier system in an experiment where people where walking around with a speaker on an helmet, the aim was to train an neuromorphic system to track people using sound/image and compare its performance with human subject. THe receivers were connected to a computer playing the source sounds et the receivers were connected to the helmets. It works great!

A great product for the pirce

May 2, 2010

I use this product for commercial and studio recording. Most of the work is done inside not outside. It fits on my video recorder perfectly and have not given me any problems since I purchased it. Its light weight and gives me just the range I need shooting on location and in the studio. I just purchased another one today. Again great product that i would recommend to anyone.

I am very much a novice at recording the events of which I speak at. I am a speaker and not a techy, but was recommended to purchase this wireless mic to hook up to my camera and it was so very easy to hook up the FIRST time. I even did it WITHOUT looking at the instructions and it worked PERFECTLY! Thank you VERY much for this awesome product WELL worth the investment!

Quality Sound

Jan 11, 2013

The sound quality that is transmitted is very good, as with any cheaper wireless mic we had some interference which caused us to have to do more than one take, but the sound quality was very good and gave us a final product that was superior to our past product video shoots. Be sure that you test and have the opportunity to have a second take but the sound was quality.

Easy to use. Great value.

Apr 30, 2010

Because my clients won't pay for a videographer for the market research work I do, I've had to become my own. After 10 hours of use, I judge the Pro88W to be quite adequate for my needs. The omni mic eliminated distant ambient sound (aircraft overheard, leaf blower in the yard) but not the din of a busy restaurant. Audio quality was excellent in my finished video.

Good for Business Applications

Oct 3, 2010

I purchased this system to record speakers at a conference. I didn't take it out of the box until the morning of the conference, but found it intuitive to use and the sound quality was excellent. The only downside I experienced was since I chose to not adhere it to my camera, the receiver was a bit bulky and in the way hanging from the camera.

Easy and works great

Jun 2, 2014

Using these in a office environment plugged directly into the mic input of a video camera. Works great, no issues. I normally used a wired configuration via a mixer to provide a much cleaner sound, but for the times I need a wireless mic this is ideal. Low cost, not much distortion and easy enough to clean up with a filter in post production.

For the money you cant beat it. This is my first wireless mic so I don't have alot of experience but I feel it was money well spent especially since I'm only using it to video tape my sons school chorus and things of that nature. I hope it holds up and so far so good. I don't seem to have any static but then again havent used them much

Working Fine

Sep 23, 2011

I bought two of these mics to run interviews. They work fine. The only comment I have is that a couple of times I've heard interference. It's not from running two mics at once, but it may be coming from other radio frequencies in the area. Otherwise, the sound quality is good. One improvement could be using a rechargeable power source.

Perfect for DSLR Audition Submissions

Sep 3, 2013

I bought this as an actor to use with my Canon 7D DSLR. I needed something that was clean and clear and simple to use. It was plug and play device. No set up required. Having a lav mic for auditioning gives the actor more range for vocal subtlety when doing eco-cast auditions and other on-line submissions. I highly recommend it.

Good wireless lav for the money!

Jan 26, 2011

I just bought this wireless mic and it worked great. I had a big project to do for a college and had no problems with the audio. I only give it 4 out of 5 stars because I'm sure there is one better out there...this isn't the absolute best mic on the market, but it was certainly good to do what I needed it to do.... Thanks B&H!

pretty good

May 30, 2011

took a bit of tweaking, including switching to manual volume and reducing volume to a level that tuned out background, but still enough foreground. Still not perfected, but we are very close. Sometimes picks up electronic interference, but we've worked around that, also. all-in-all a pretty good system for the price range.

Will Work - But am sending back

Jun 1, 2010

I use it for recording church sermons with camcorder. It worked OK but had dropouts/interference as the speaker walked around. I hoped a VHF unit would work because of the cost savings. Wishful thinking. Sent it back for a UHF Unit. May work for some people OK just depends where your at and surrounding radio interference.

Unreliable

Dec 3, 2012

The audio sitting under the noise, dropouts, and strange interference phases is ok. Higher frequency often goes in and out even with good signal (this affects voices). This mic will cost you - you're either going to invest in wired or buy a $500+ kit minimum after it fudges your program. Spare yourself this 100-150 bucks.

Using this to shoot a low-budget documentary. Range is not quite what they say - starts to get clicks about 50-75 ft. away, but anything nearer is pretty clear. My sony hand-held mic works on it fine as well, for interview situations. Definitely seems worth the money invested, and BH has a very good price on this system.

I have not tested this unit but am commenting on its build quality. The description is CLEARLY misleading and warrants it being returned. Although clearly marked as having a metal construction, which is the reason I purchased in the 1st place, this unit is plastic and I was very disappointed and angry for this to be so.
