No defects,no dead pixles, no backlight bleed whatsoever it's a perfect monitor. I just got to fine too it to get the colors right Highly recommend it. I got mine a week ago from the new batch that came in. I forgot to look to see what month it was made in. But buy it now they should be good...at least mine was ??

Good Monitor
I had read about the problems with this monitor, tossed the dice and ordered one. It came packaged safe and sound. I appreciate that B&H put the monitor in another box so it wasn't visible what was being shipped. I have taken 3 weeks to write this review because I wasn't sure that I was going to keep it. EXCELLENT MONITOR
You get what you pay for. That statement sums up the ROG Swift PG279Q. This monitor replaced my Apple Cinema HD 23 monitor of eleven years. I am pleased with the PG279Q performance, in all applications. I cannot find fault with this monitor. It performs as designed.

Beautiful image quality despite backlight bleed
I had hoped the apparently inevitable backlight bleed would be minimal and I am mostly able to ignore it. When the screen is dark, however, at the beginning of a movie or something like that, I can't help but wince at the money I spent on this monitor. I'm keeping it because of the gorgeous image quality and contrast I am now able to enjoy the other 98% of the time. Coming from 20 years in the animation industry I come across dozens of high end monitors a year. This monitor is just brilliant. I think the warms are a little intense by default but this is coming from some who spends hours in a dark room with colour timers. Fast, accurate, light weight, good stand If I had one wish it would be for another connection. 2 seems to be the standard now, but monitors commonly pull triple duties now (I had to put a switcher on mine).

Amazing monitor. Own 2 already.
Pixel perfect. Great viewing angles. Great color. It's perfect not just for gaming (high refresh rate, gsync, low response and input lag), but also for everyday use. I calibrated the colors based on TFTcentral's profile.

I have had several ASUS monitors as well as ASUS motherboards and have always been pleased. The build quality is top notch, I love the ring around the support post at the stand and the ASUS logo. Some of us gamers like lots of lights. The controls are easy to adjust too once you have used them a few times. I play first person shooter games exclusively. Great monitor
My first of this kind! Colors are outstanding. Gsync happened automatically with the DisplayPort cable. My GTX1080 works great with this monitor! I haven't seen any dead pixels anywhere! The only back light bleed I see is when turning it off and it goes to a black screen. The on screen menu is very helpful. When you know what your looking for it comes easy. The Best, but Black Light Bleed
I did a lot of research before buying this monitor and I had a lot of expectations. I can confidently say, my expectations were meet and over exceeded. The monitor can be overclocked to 165hz, the 2k visual's in games and videos are extremely beautiful, and G-sync makes a big difference looking back at my old monitors. The backlight bleeding is real! Real bad..
I just purchased the 3rd PG279Q and while everything works as intended, there's still that annoying backlight bleed covering a fourth of the screen!! It's so unnerving when one has to spend this much time after spending this much money to get what you paid for in the first place !! I'll be returning this one as well and picking up my next ticket in the lottery..

Awesome monitor despite the slight backlight bleed
Well I did not escape the back-light bleed. Mine is at top right corner when screen is black. Thankfully, I don't use the monitor with the screen all black. Great gaming monitor at 165Hz refresh rate g-synced to a 980Ti with max video settings.

Lots of issues, does not work as advertised
Bottom right corner had black light bleed so bad it was like someone was shining a flashlight on that part of the screen while I was gaming. This monitor could not handle the overclock of 165 mhz. Would flicker constantly. The colors were horribly washed out, even after using online guides could not get rid of the washed out colors, might as well have been a TN. Also because it's a TN it still has pretty bad ghosting, even though its pumping out 144 fps its still causing a blurry mess due to the ghosting, overhyped piece of junk. returned it for refund.

Best of it's class! A++ Quality
I will start by saying that I am doing an RMA. If you've researched this moniter at all you know the QC issues that ASUS has had with these panels in particular (Acer as well), I got a January build. ROG Swift PG279Q Review
This is a great product. I received the item the next day with no issues. Packaging was great and installation was less than 5 minutes. First things I tested for was IPS glow and backlight bleed. I guess this is a newer release but I had 0 IPS glow or backlight bleed. No dead pixels. Everything works smooth with Gsync and I couldn't be happier. The only complaint I have is the price but I've been wanting a monitor like this for the last 3 years since Gsync was a realistic option.

The perfect monitor for my setup.
Great screen. Gaming at 165hz is fantastic. The screen has great color reproduction and it easy to look at for long periods of time. The LEDs on the base are a nice feature as well.

So far the Very Best
I'm very pleased with the performance of these LCD panels. I got them in preparation for the arrival of NVIDIA's GTX 1080 series. I'm using 3 of these in NVIDIA surround and powered by a custom liquid cooled X79 system with 3 GTX Titans in 3-way SLI. So far, racing games work well with the high refresh rates of 120 and 144hz. Simply Amazing
The ROG Swift PG279Q far exceeded my expectations which were very high to begin with. I was worried about the backlight bleed issue that is common with this technology; but 2 monitors I purchased were manufactured in January 2016 and are part of the later generation of these monitors in which the quality control is much better and the effect is minimal during testing and nonexistent during while working and/or gaming. I did receive one monitor that was damaged however B&H immediately issued an RMA and exchanged the monitor without any issue/headache. Highly recommend.

Perfect Condition Delivery
I have to applaud B&H on a perfect delivery and perfect monitor. I had my guys from IT set it up and check for dead pixels and black light bleeding and there was ZERO (0) dead pixels. I was a little worried when it took five days to arrive and that it shipped from New York to Baltimore before taking two days to come here but i was not disappointed and the wait was well worth it. I will definitely be buying more products from B&H. As far as the monitor itself,lives up to the hype 165 hz is lightning fast, G-Sync is a God send, I will never be able to look at another monitor again.

Great size and resolution for modern games. Not as much graphics HP is required for 1440p when compared to 4K. I do have a little IPS glow in the lower right that was bothering me at first. The monitor is fantastic. The speakers are adequate. The color reproduction is amazing. Something to take into consideration however is the large base of the sand, it takes up a considerable amount of desk space. There is minor IPS glow, which is pretty much unescapable with these kinds of panels. Other than that, nothing but good things to say about this.
