Works erratically Hard to connect to supplied cable and have it lock in place Unable to connect second party (Monster) cable and gave it lock in place Bad connection led to signal attenuation and sporadic loss during recording Then I adjusted cable and it all worked great for 30 minutes then failed again

I recently purchased two TASCAM TM-80s for a live streamed podcast hosted via Zoom. For the price, most listeners will find the difference of quality between this microphone and a webcam to be staggering. With the addition of a desk mount and shock absorber, you needn't much more to look technically prepared. Combined with a Samson mic arm, people tend to be highly impressed by the presentation of an otherwise simple mic upgrade.

I purchased the Tascam TM-80 and it sounded thin and tinny. Then it stopped working. I opened it up to find a loos wire that needed resoldering. But the mic sounded thin and tinny anyway. I discovered that it is not a LDC. It has a small 18mm capsule sitting in a big dummy surround ring that makes it look like an LDC through the grill. I tossed mine in the trash I was so unhappy with it.

I produce videos for online courses. Client records his voiceovers in his office and they sound great. The included shock mount works wonders for minimizing noise. We use this with a Tascam portable digital recorder and the rig was easy to set up, even for someone with minimal technical experience. Considering the price point, this is an excellent buy.

Was exactly what I needed for the next stage in my career this is my update from my Blue yeti usb microphone and the difference was as apparent from the first plug in and power on, as the snow is white

For the price, you can't really beat this mic! I was using a good lav mic before and this blows the lav mic out of the water. This cardioid mic is a much better match for my use case (meetings/presentation recordings).

Bought two of these because of how affordable it was. It is a bit high in the mids when recording, but that can easily be fixed in post.

I got this mic as a B-mic for when I need to have somebody else on a podcast. The sound is crisp, there is a good amount of bass compared to my other mic but it is easily eq'd. For the price you pretty much can't beat this mic.

Not sue if m voice has changed or the mic does not color the bass as much as other mics like the EV RE 20. But on the acoustic it sounded crisp and deep and true. That was the extent of my testing. Good value.

I am an electronic tech and a pastor and For long time o have had worked with video and audio so I know when I mic is goon and when it is not good. The Tascam works very good and to quiet. It's not a Newman but does the job good for streaming.

Great mic for the money. Very high quality for an inexpensive mic. Besides being a full time photographer I am an audio engineer and this mic holds it's own against many higher priced condenser mics.
