MDR-V6 headphones
I am a musician-songwriter traveling away from home, I needed reliable headphones to review mixes and my engineer suggested the Sony MDR-V6 I did not want to spend a pile of money as I do have high fidelity headphones at my studio. These headphones fill the bill. Great sound quality, neutral EQ, well built and reliable. So far nothing not great about them I will keep these around for sure at the studio.

Great quality headphones!
I use them at my desk, on the go (iPhone) and for DJing. Really impressive range of sound, good solid bass. I was pleased with how much sound is blocked out by the full-ear covers. Cable is slightly cumbersome when you're storing it in your pocket, the coils take up considerable space. Great purchase!

Don't believe the HYPE
They are good but not that good. It doesn't isolate anything. There's little outside sound reduction and they aren't as loud as my Senheiser HD 202 II for $25 and not as sleek. In a few weeks the cushioning covering unravelled like it was glued together with scotch tape The sound quality wasn't much better. I don't understand the hype on these things. They are quiet, don't block much sound, and the cushion covering came apart in no time. But the box was beautiful.

Great entry level headphones
I use these every day for listening to music and playing games. The sound quality far surpasses any other headphones I've had in the past at a great price. I can hear things I never heard before like a new instrument or footsteps in a game, and the 3m coiled cord is a godsend. They could have had a little more bass but for the price this is a non-issue. I highly recommend these to anyone looking for an all around great experience.

V6s are a great studio headphone
I've been using Sony MDR-V6 headphones in the studio since the early 1990s. They have good imaging, are excellent for tracking lead vocals & other overdubs. I don't generally use headphones to do mixing other than checking imaging & reverbs. That said the mixes I have done using the V6s have translated very well to other speaker systems. They are built well (I still have a pair I bought back in the 90s that still work great) and are comfortable to wear. I personally prefer them over the Sony 7506s - to my ears they have a more balanced tone.

Classic Headphones
The Sony MDR-V6 Headphones are excellent in sound quality and durability. I use mine for ENG/EFP news gathering and the headphones are just excellent. The Headphones fold into a neat and compact bag for packing and storing.

Just what I was looking for
These are fantastic, quality headphones that I've been looking for for a long tome. They're not too bulky, just the right size and style for an upcoming college freshman. And the sound quality! I feel like I've never listened to such crisp audio before. My only issue I suppose would be the coiled wire, it's a little heavy in certain circumstances. By no means does that mean I regret this purchase!

Excellent over the ear headphones
I use these when I want to avoid ambient sounds, they perform far better than I expected for the price.

good bang for the buck
Pro: great built, good balanced sound very long cord but can heavy so not very good for portability Con: Would have preferred heavier bass since I listening to a lot of hip hop.

Best cans under $100
Breaking them in as I write this, but here's a basic summary of Sony's fantastic pair of phones, the MDR-V6. Pros: - Pads fit around ears and are snug fit - Solid construction - Cord comes out one side - Folds up for portability, cord is coiled - Sounds are balanced, bass isn't overwhelming; tight - Isolates fairly well for NON-CANCELING headphones Cons: - Bass may be lacking for some - Impractical cord length for normal travel usage (e.g walking... Good budget headphones
I use this set for music and gaming on my desktop. It gives me decent sound isolation and provides a full range of sounds. The head band is a little big for me,but that may just be because my head is smaller.

Not for a ConeHead
To be fair, I have only limited experience with this type of headphone. The sound quality, noise blocker and headphone manipulation are excellent. I was also expecting unquestionable comfort but it is uncomfortable to sit through an entire movie. I need to remove these headphones every 30 minutes or so because it begins to feel like my ears are lossing circulation and get in pain. I fear that if I was a ConeHead, I'd have to remove them every 5 minutes or so. I haven't owned them long enought to comment on durability.

Best headphones for the money
These headphones rock, I bought them after my bose AE were stolen and I am much happier with them overall. At only $, these are well worth every penny. They are on par, if not better in sound quality over the bose that I had. The cable is only attached at one side, which makes for putting the headphones on and taking them off easier. Also, the cable is curled so you will not have a problem with tangled, knotted, or kinked cables anymore. Overall, the sound quality is awesome, the build is sturdy, they fold up easily for portability, and the cord is user friendly.

MDR-V6 Headphones
I ordered these headphones to replace my old MDR-V4 headphones, which still sound great but are starting to fall apart. The MDR-V6 headphones sound just as good with better midrange response. I am very satisfied with this purchase.

Excellent Set of Cans
Good for editing or just listening to high fidelity recordings. The power required to drive these phones and the physical weight of them are not suitable for small MP3 players and bus-ride listening. V6's are very precise and don't get muddy during complexly layered tracks. Frequency response is relatively flat down to 30 Hz, with no noticeable coloration. The cord is long and beefy with the strongest 1/8 plug I've ever seen. As with most Sony's,... Show More

Good sound & coworkers don't complain
Mostly purchased these to use at the office because my Denons were bleeding too much sound out & I like my music LOUD. These Sony's do a great job of containing my music & it turns out, these are also sound good. They lose a bit in the bass end to my Denons & I miss some of that depth, though maybe it was just a bit more floppy. Could be that they are on-ear rather than over-ear. These are just a bit tighter bass. Not bad, just different. Good al... Show More

Sony MDR-V6 Headphones !
If you're a working musician on a tight budget , these headphones are the ticket for you . Nice lows without being for lack of better words too boomy , mids and highs are very articulate without being too grainy or ear piercing ! Excellent value compared to other head sets costing 2 - 3 times as much . The ONLY knock I may have on them is that they could use just a bit more volume . Again , in a studio or home setting this won't likely be an issue !

Good for the money
Still breaking them in but sound is very flat. Good monitoring headphones and will need some time to break in. Compared to my Sennheiser hd280 they seem to be less heavy in the mid bass and treble is a lot more neutral. For the price you cannot go wrong. Don't isolate as well as the Senns hd280.

Excellent Sound
Having tried all of B&H's headphones, I chose this one for its balance of price and sound. I am most pleased with how good music flows into my ears from these headphones. I am well happy with this choice. The only drawback is the cord which is rather heavy and sometimes dangles over the keyboard. But that's more a matter of where the headphones go on my computer desk than anything else.

Cheap Fantastic Monitoring Headphones
Before I bought these, I went to a local pro-audio shop to listen to products in my price range (which I highly suggest you do). Between the Senn 555's, AT M50's, and AKG K240's, these were my favorite. I use them for work, casual listening, and light gaming. They are less enjoyable for the later two because of the analyticity, but accuracy is one of the reasons I bought these. They are comfortable, durable, and sound fantastic. I will say this t... Love 'em... they're perfect
Having recently been moved out of my private office into a cubicle, I needed a decent pair of 'phones so that I could listen to music without disturbing anyone, and so that I could filter out all the ambient noise. I was going to be wearing 'em all day long, so they needed to be really comfortable for long periods of time, and they needed to be durable enough to stand up to all-day,every-day use. These seem to do the trick; whenever my coworker s... Show More
