Very Nice Lens
This lens is hard to fault. Excellent performance as expected. I keep this lens on my NEX-7 at all times and have been happy with the choice. Many folks question the value of this lens and while seemingly expensive, it is a fine lens. I base my rating on the performance of the lens, not on its value.

Great for low light but with some issues
After reading some glowing praises about this lens from other NEX owners, I decided to bite the bullet and try this thing out on my NEX 7. FIrst of the Best (hopefully)
This lens is reason enough to buy a NEX-5n. Focus is fast, and quality is absolutely stellar. If you are shooting photos, and care at all about quality over convenience, just buy it!! Impress yourself, impress your friends, and put it in your coat pocket when your through. For street photography, I've found my new best friend. PS- As with any lens, buy a filter with it and lose your lens cap right away.

Excellent Lens!
I bought the Sony NEX to mainly adapt my older M Mount lenses to it. When this lens came out however I gave it a close look and after seeing a lot of glowing reviews decided it was worth the money. I think one of the most important aspects of this lens is it's close focus ability. It's not quite macro, but it's just about there making it a truely excellent lens for plant life and textures. Everything it's supposed to be
I love this lens. It's sharp wide open and you can shoot in the dark on the NEX-5N. It's roughly the same size as the kit lens, but the included hood is very deep. It makes my 5N look very cool. It's light weight and looks and feels very professional and well made. Nothing moves on it unless you want to focus manually, so I doubt dust will ever be an issue. I'm satisfied with the 24mm f 1.8 so far. A bit larger than I'd like it to be but great overall image quality. Great bokeh

meets expectations
Ideal normal lens for the new Sony NEX-7. Build quality and image quality is what you would expect from Zeiss. Now if they would only make a 18-55 zoom, life would be perfect.

nice piece of glass...
I'm not enough of a techie to understand why even a Zeiss lens has problems with magenta fringing in the corners in sunny lighting situations, and this lens does have a problem with this (from what I've read they all do), but otherwise its very sharp and the color rendition is beautiful. I'm hoping the fringing will be fixable or at least not too much of a problem for what I'm doing. I'm using it with the NEX-5n and as soon as I can get the NEX-7... Show More
