Excellent Sound
Having tried all of B&H's headphones, I chose this one for its balance of price and sound. I am most pleased with how good music flows into my ears from these headphones. I am well happy with this choice. The only drawback is the cord which is rather heavy and sometimes dangles over the keyboard. But that's more a matter of where the headphones go on my computer desk than anything else.

As good as ever!
I bought my first set of MDR-V6 headphones more than 25 years ago. I think it says a lot about the product that they are still being made today. I've had to replace the foam ear seals a couple of times but the headphones are still working well. I purchased a new set to use for audio editing at work and the design doesn't appear to have changed at all. They are wonderful headphones.

Excellent sound!
I purchased these for use in a small home studio setup for podcasting and have found the sound quality to be excellent and the headphones to be extremely comfortable. They are in fact so comfortable and sound so good that I've actually used them a time or two just to listen to lossless-quality music on my iPhone. Totally not what I bought them for, but the sound is just so good!

Great with iPad
Read previous reviews. Using primarily to listen to music loaded on iPad and works well for that. Good bass. Fits my head well. More comfortable than ear buds for me. Thought cord might be too long, but have found it's OK. like storage pouch. Pleased with my purchase. Looking forward to using this on trip in airports/on planes next month. B&H great as usual for price, ... etc.

A HUGE bang for tiny bucks
I use this when I'm recording, mixing, and jst plain old chillin'. I'm mainly a hip-hopper, but sometimes I listen to pop and ballads/R&B. This is just great for everything. I use these when I'm recording others and myself and mixing up some music. Only bad thing is the earpads, which I replaced with verlour replacement pads. These make these headphones go from a 3.5 to a 5.

Flat... and that's a good thing
These are about the flattest sounding headphones in this price range. And that is essential whether you are mixing in a studio (which is what these cans were made for), or listening to audiophile recordings. If you want boomy bass or crispy high end, look elsewhere. If you want music the way it was recorded, these Sony MDR-V6 will deliver just that, and nothing more or less.

Very good product
Very comfortable and these have been around a long time so there are no bugs to work out. This is my second pair. My first pair are about 18 years old and work just fine. I bought these for my daughter so I could have my older ones back. She is very happy with them. Just for your info. I am a professional musician and not the biggest Sony fan but this is a great product!

super value
These things deserve their good reputation. For a very reasonable price they deliver very good sound, and much better than anything else I heard anywhere near the money. Clean neutral sound that is not thin or harsh. No overboosted bass. Good neutral tonal balance and the ability to handle power without the sound falling apart. Long cord not the best for portability.

My 2nd pair, absolutely loves it!
This is our second pair of these V6 headphones for our Church. The first pair eventually gave out after 8 years of delivering awesome sound for us to mix our audio... Was going to buy another brand to replace the trusty V6, but all the review shows better sounding headphones would cost considerably more... so we decided to just stick to what we know that works well!

Excellent cans!
The MDR V6s with the Velour mod cannot be beat at the price point of sub 100. Simply amazing sound, comfort and construction. I love that they fold up so easy so that you can fit them easily in smaller spaces, and how long the cable coils out to. The velour pad mod allows for much better comfort after hours of use. Excellent bass when it comes to sound quality.

Excellent Headphones At A Great Price
In using this product daily for sound design work, I'm greatly satisfied with it's craftsmanship and functionality. I've had multiple studio headphone monitors throughout the past decade (including this set once prior), and I'm happy to return to this model. Great value for the price, and as always, impressive order placement turnaround and shipping from B&H.

Excellent sound/Great deal overall
I use the headphones for studio recording and they get the job done well. Nice highs and lows. An honest sound with no added frills. Great for studio work and my clients have had no complaints! The casing on the earpads deteriorates relatively quickly but that can be fixed with the fabric covers for a small price. The sound sounds great for years and years.

Great For the Money
These Headphones have worked great for me. The ear cups seal outside noise out and are comfortable as they do so. They produce excellent highs and bass has to be extremely low to notice any distortion. I love the way that the fold up for easy carry. They are built like a tank. The only trade off is that they are not the lightest headphones you will put on.

Comfy and Good Sond
Everyone should know these are the industry standard headphones and they hold true to that name. Extremely comfortable for my egg shaped head, nice thick cable, and the sound is great! The coil on the cable doesn't start until about 2 feet down from the headphone ear so there is not as much weight hanging off your head. Good engineering. Well worth money.

Excellent Sound...don't pass these up!!!
I have @ a dozen pairs of headphones including Sennheiser HD280, Grado SR50, Bose Noise Cancelling HP, Etymotic ER6, and several others...The Sony MDR v6 outperforms any of these with clear transparent sound, clean midrange, solid bass, and very pleasant listening experience, along with comfort...a great buy...so far they can't be beat for the price...

Outstanding Value
I bought them for use in my home voiceover studio for isolation and accuracy, and they deliver. For CD listening, they absolutely live up to their reputation and exceed my expectations. Great stereo seperation. The broad frequency response really seems to bring out detail in single instrument or small ensemble recordings, such as jazz or chamber music.

Best set of cans for the money
I use these headphone in my home recording studio and I can't say enough about them. Comfort is outstanding and the clarity is unbelievable. If you're looking for noise cancelling headphones these are not for you, but if you want a good set of headphones for mixing and can't afford to spend more than $ then this is it. Great product for minimal cost.

Heard nothing but great things...
These MDR-V6 headphones are fantastic studio or even field headphones. I borrowed a pair from a partner for about 6 months and finally got a pair for myself. Very durable, quality reproduction of sound and worth every penny. Don't plan on wearing them for more than an hour at a time if you have a big head like myself..They are a bit tight on my head.

Amazing headphones
Flat response, great clarity and detail. Even when listening to CD, I can hear so much more detail. Bass is not muddy, and extremely clear, you can really hear the tone of the bass guitar body! Because of its noise canceling design, my ears get hot after a short while listening thru them. The best ever purchase, from amazing prices at bhphotovideo

Outstanding Performance for Your $$$$
Do what you say, when you say, for the price you say. Good business practices. Sony accomplished this with the MDR-V6 headphones. Outstanding sound quality, comfortable, durable, reliable, economical - who could ask for more. They still receive outstanding reviews and are still in use, both by professionals and novices alike - since the mid '80s.

These headphones have been out for 20 years so think about why they would keep a pair of headphones around so long they must be worth it! Clean and beautiful sound!
I am very much an amateur in the sound business. I'm using a D750 and a TASCAM DR-60DMkII to capture my granddaughter playing her guitar. I use these to monitor the sound coming into a recorder and/or a camera. The clarity of the sound from these headphones is amazing to me. They seem to reproduce the sound without any bias what-so-ever.

Great
I use this for gaming in conjuction with my Turtle Beach PX5 amp. These sound better than the px5s when used with the amp. I got these headphones due to the low lows and high highs. I am thoroughly impressed with them. only downside is that I have to be creative because these don't have a mic. I love blasting music with these on as well.

Greatgreatgreat
I use this for some home mixing (final mixing in a studio) and it is pretty honest, translates well to various systems including the subs. I make a lot of EDM as well as some acoustic based music. These have held up pretty well so far but time will tell, I had a pair of the 7506s in the past and they lasted for about 10 years or so.....
