Lightweight but sharp and fast
Coming from Canon 24-105 L and this one is lighter, sharper, nicer bokeh and pairs great with the A7r iii. So far I'm really glad I switched. The focus hold button on the lens is interesting and something different from Canon. I debated the 24-70 GM but weight was a factor and I like the extra range.

Bought instead of 24-70 GM lens
I fought this lens because of the 24-105 zoom. With my Sony A7 III, and slightly higher ISOs, the F4 is just perfect! I shot some video with the lens for the first time with terrific results, as well as very good bokeh. The lens is considerably lighter and less expensive than the 24-79 GM 2.8 lens.

The most versatile lens you can get
This is the most versatile lens you can buy right now for Sony E-mount cameras. It might be a little heavy but quality glass always is. This lens is perfect for photo and video, and while it might be nice to shoot at a f/2.8, f/4 ain't too shabby with low-light capable cameras like the Sony a7sII.

a Gem
let me just say I owned the 2.8GM 24-70 (just sold). yes it was sharp, but less versatile and heavy for prolonged use. i picked up the 24-105 and couldn't be happier. my copy is about as sharp as the GM! with Sony's latest bodies you dont need 2.8. Also, this pairs better with my 100-400GM.

Good lens but not as sharp as it should be
I bought this lens for travel use, as its an f4 with good optical range and light weight. However , compared to my ultracompact sony zeiss 35mm 2.8 and sony 55mm 1.8 primes, the picture quailty was not even close. I may opt for the 24 70mm 2.8 gm in the future, but its a big piece of glass.

Sharp, capable lens
The depth of Connecticut winter is not a great time to test this lens but a series of shots in different light conditions find me pleased. It is not light but I expected heavier for this range. I've found no distortion anywhere in the range. This lens will travel to good places.

GREAT all-around, walk-around lens!!
I've been using this lens for a couple of weeks, my only complaint is I wish it wasn't as heavy. BUT it has such a wonderful range, no doubt well over 85%, of all the pictures one takes - it is great and very sharp across picture too. I'm completely satisfied and delighted. jj

The softest focus lens in my inventory.
Very disappointed in this lens for the price point. Every Nikon and Canon lens I own is much sharper. This may be a out of family Sony lens and plan to shoot more test shots before I return it. The Sony A7RIII is not the problem since it works really well with my other lenses.

Versatile
This is my first lens purchase for my A7iii. I used it for a school graduation, and two sightseeing trips. There was tons of landscape photos and portraiture. It is of course much heavier then a kit lens but it does so much more! The circular polarizer was a great add on.

Great all around lens
Because of it's zoom range I use it as my general purpose lens. It balances pretty well and F/4 is still fast enough for most of what I shoot. The range is perfect for travel especially when walking in city environments. It works perfectly on A7RIII and A7 III.

my first G Lens purchase
Decided to get a quality lens for my overall shooting range with my venture into FF . This Sony 24-105 G Lens is a bit heavy but that's the trade off for having good glass. I also have the Sony 55mm Fe 1.8 super sharp lens which completes my present use .......

So far so good
I haven't had a chance to use it extensively yet, but I was able to take it out for a landscape shoot this past weekend and was very pleased with the sharpness and contrast. I would like it better if it was a little faster lens of around 2.8 for better bokeh.

This will replace my 2470 Zeiss in my bag.
Very pleased with the image quality through the range. Better than I expected. Nice bokeh. I really like the additional reach of the 105. Negligible difference in weight and size to the 2470 f/4 Zeiss. This will replace my 2470 Zeiss in my bag. Very pleased.

Wow!
This lens is amazing. There was a bad batch so I waited for the new releases. This lens is sharp! I was going to get other lenses but after having this one, I decided on this one the 35mm f2.8 and the 85mm f1.8. You dont need anything else. Simply amazing.

Great Lens. Just a little bit too big and heavy.
Great, sharp lens, edge to edge. No distortion at 24mm, unlike the Canon and Nikon versions. Just a bit larger and heavier than I would have liked, but I'll keep it and enjoy it. Gives me a better edge than the 24-70, which is a bit smaller and lighter.

Great everyday lens
The image quality is superb and though it is slightly big, it is still the go to lens for a day out walking around. Though it is bigger than a 24-70 the image quality quickly makes you forget why you are carrying around. I really like this lens.

My new walk around lens
I am mounting the 24-105G on the a7Rii and it is my new walk around lens. I also will use it on the a6300. The lens is sharp, has a solid build, and the autofocus is fast and quiet. It will be paired with the FE 70-300G and Zeiss 55.

Versatility
Bought this lens as a kit with A7iii, because I could not afford other FE prime lens that will fit both my need for landscape and portrait. I was not disappointed, picture came out sharp, clear and in focused. Good bokeh, DOF and range.

Could be better.
I use this lens with my Sony AR7ii. Very sharp lens edge to edge with great stabilization. My big complaint is that at 24mm @F-4, it has heavy vignetting even with the lens profile. Good overall lens to have in your kit regardless.

Great lens with one issue
I find this lens to be superior to my 24-105mm for Canon. It's sharper throughout (center to edge). However, I found that there is more CA with the Sony than the Canon. It's mostly a magenta fringe so it is not difficult to remove.

Great versatile lens
Good lens if youre looking for something reasonably priced to take sharp photos. I was debating on getting the GM 24-70 2.8 but it was wayyyy too bulky and much pricier. I chose to get this paired with a good prime instead.

Sony 24-105 f/4 G
There's not much to say about this lens except in a word....SHARP! Very well made and fits on my Sony A7ii without too much front-end weight. Expensive, but worth it. Will probably be my go to lens for a long time.

A Workhorse
Excellent, sharp video quality. Smooth zoom. Love the af/m switch. Love the focal length. Great autofocus. I had purchased the Tamron 28-75 and hated it. I returned it, ordered the 24-105, and it is worlds better.
