Quality Product, Do Your Research Before Buying!
This is a quality product that shoots high quality video at high frame rates, but you need to do your research before buying. At the highest frame rates, it can only record 2-4 seconds, and it takes some getting used to capture the shot that you want. You will also need A LOT of light for the higher frame rates (as Im sure that many of you already know).

Great Camera, dead after 1 1/2 years
It was a great camera and it took great pictures while it was alive, but less than 6 months after end of warranty and it developed the battery drain problem. When turned off it will drain the battery to 0 overnight. I hear this is a common problem with these cameras. Sony sent me to a repair center where they are quoting $306 just to take a look.

Sony RX100 IV Progressively better than it's predecessors
I use this camera as a carry along as an adjunct to my full size cameras. It's focus is quicker than the III series and as functional. I am finding myself use this point-and-shoot almost more than any of my other cameras with great results. As I still have not used it for more than three weeks as things crop up I will attempt to describe them.

Really handy camera for travel
I like the ability to -shoot in raw-shoot in manual-use and electronic view finder-and produce amazing video at 100fps or more in such a small unit. I've only had this camera for a short time, but so far, the quality of the images is excellent. No low-light testing at this point. But it does fit in my pocket after doing all of the above!

Solid camera
I'm an amateur photographer and I bought the Sany rx-100 IV for several reasons: 1) Compact size 2) Good image quality for size 3) Zeiss lens I use the camera for events and have been happy with it. I noticed quite a bit of noise even in daylight but that can be removed later. The video is easy to use and appears to be high quality.

Great, except for the autofocus and metering settings
Generally a very good camera. The flash is bounceable, the focus ring is handy, the screen tilts 180 degrees, the EVF is great, and the sensor is excellent. I can't stand the menu system, though... it's much too difficult to change autofocus and metering settings. That, for me, is a deal breaker and I returned the camera.

Great choice if you want a small full featured camera
I took this Sony on a trip recently. Worked wonderfully in a variety of lighting situations. This time I wanted a small camera that was easy to use, had a great selection of menus and was easy to carry in a bag. The menus were not difficult to figure out especially if you had worked with other Sony DSLR cameras.

Good camera, but expensive
The advantages of this camera are well known. I have found the slide up eye viewfinder to be very useful. That feature alone set this large-pocketable camera apart. However the battery life is poor and the camera (being somewhat heavy for being so small) needs a grip. Get an option grip if you get this camera.

Low light performance, fast processing
Low light performance was the primary draw to this camera. I have DSLRs with comparable performance, but compared to current phones and last generation point and shoot cameras, this takes amazing shots. The processor is also fast (when paired with a good SD card), so you can easily capture moving subjects.

Take It Everywhere!
Love this camera! Imagery is superb. Weighs almost nothing. Zoom feature is highly useful. Keep this little treasure on your hip every time you leave the house and you'll never miss the shot. Great camera for street photography. No one ever pays any attention to it or me. Fully featured for pro settings.

Compact and clear
Light weight and small with lots of power. Easily fits in a pocket or small bag so it's at hand. This weekend I was able to use it in some historic houses where no flash was allowed pictures came out clear and detailed. The remote function allows me to use my mobile phone as a viewfinder and remote.

Love it!
I see a review stating the View Finder isn't good if you wear glasses. I almost didn't buy the camera because of that review. It is totally false! I wear glasses and have a large correction in my prescription and the diopter adjustment works just like it's supposed to. This is a great little camera.

Choose SD cards carefully
Kudos to B&H for the sidebar reminding buyers that an SDXC UHS-1 U3 is required for 4K video. I only wish I had relied on it, rather than the camera's onscreen instruction. Its warning only says that a UHS-1 U3 card is required but does NOT specify XC. Thanks Sony, we are not off to a good start.

VF problem
already had a prior model, RXII, and like it both for image quality and efficient size. Was looking forward to this upgrade, and especially the VF. sadly, I returned it because with glasses, the VF is worthless. I recommend this well engineered camera for anyone without corrective eye ware.

Great Camera, learning
Bought for small size and reviews that the images are sharpest of all similar, as I like to crop and retain printable image. So far so good There is a lot of stuff to learn, working on that. Remote operation is very cool (see image on your cell phone, then take picture from phone).

Buy it and don't look back
As far as I can tell, this is the best pocketable camera money can buy. The noise levels even at high ISO are amazingly low, and the responsiveness of the camera is not to be believed. The speed of the autofocus system is a total game changer for taking shots of family, pets, etc.

be aware, this appears to be a non-USA version camera
perhaps a buyer beware comment, but i was unaware i was purchasing a non-USA unit without the USA Sony warranty. perhaps it was stated somewhere, but i did not see it. with the above said, camera works as expected. great pictures, especially for the camera size, OK battery life.

good enough
Well built, pocketable & convenient. At 20 mp & 8 yrs newer sensor tech I was hoping for image quality close to the Canon 5D2. It's asking a lot of the lens on such a small sensor. My sample didn't have a edge at 100% on a tripod, but as a snapshot camera it will be good enough.

The best copact camera
I couldn't imagine that this camera can get me like this, amazing quality, easy to use, I bought this camera for everyday use specially for family and kids , the only problem is that you never can use 4K video for more than 5min, If i knew i would definitely buy Sony Rx Mark iii

Best pocket camera available as of October 2015
The one inch Sony sensor produces great files. Pop-up viewfinder is terrific. The camera fits in your pocket. Want's not to like. Sure, going back to my Nikon D810 after using this and my other small cameras is a breath of fresh air. But, this camera FITS IN YOUR POCKET.

Nice compact camera albeut expensive
Takes great images and videos. Able to carry this around in my cargo pants pocket. Get a spare battery if you take a lot of videos. If you buy the Sony attachment grip, you won't be able to use the Sony camera case unless you attach the grip to the case itself.

Superb pocket camera !
1. I like the slow motion feature. I'm having lots of fun with this option. 2. For photographs, I think this is the best of the non-DSLR's. 3. I also own the M2 and the M3. The new M4 is the best of the lot and am very impressed with this camera.

Nearly Perfect SLR Substitute for Routine Shooting
This camera, that I use when I don't want to lug my 5D Mark II, is nearly perfect for this purpose. The only thing costing it a 5 star rating for me is its very low battery capacity. This is easily solved by having multiple batteries on hand.

Loved the II but the IV is even better
I always thought that the 2 was the best point and shoot I have used and the 4 is even better. I shoot on raw and the clarity of both macro and portrait shots is great. The lens flair from shooting into sunlight is reduced on this new lens.
