Simply Amazing Results Compared To The Old Version
I started shooting with Sony SLR's a few years ago when they came out with the original A77 & I paired it with the original Zeiss 24-70mm SSM. I loved the perfect color balance with close up faces & group shots, they were all keepers every time! I instantly upgraded to the A77 Mark II when it came out & was even further blown away. Now Zeiss upgrades the original glass to ZA SSM II and adds some fantastic features. The processors inside this lens... Show More

Grab & Go Every Day Lens
Need to grab the camera and go? Keep this lens mounted and ready. Its the perfect general use lens. An excellent range between wide and telephoto, especially indoors. Open the aperature wide and you get a nice bokeh. Stop it down for laser sharp results. Fast, slow, bright and low light conditions - it handles them all quite well. Throw a good polarizer on the end and watch the colors pop on a sunny day outside. Mine is mounted to an a850 and has... Show More

Great Lens
I've tried a few lenses from the sigma 24-105mm, which was great, to a prime 50mm. I decided to bite the bullet and spend the money. This lens is great! Very quiet and fast when wide open at 2.8. I'm finding that I leave this lens on most of the time. Great Bokeh as well. Some may say that's its a bit heavy but that goes without saying because of the build quality with 17/13 elements and groups. You won't be disappointed!

Sony A mount 24-70 f2.8
I use this with my A7RII and A&SII with an A to E mount adapter. I find the image quality to be excellent - on par with a similar Nikon lens I used with my D810 before switching to mirrorless. The lens is heavy (same as the Nikon) and I do hope they can make a similar quality, but smaller version to go with the smaller form factor of the E mount cameras. This is a great walking around lens.

Sharp and versatile
I have only been using this lense for a short time and have only taken several hundred photographs on my Sony a99ii. I found this lens to be very sharp, the zoom range is very usable and had a feeling of a very professional lens -- quick focus and quiet. This will be my number one go-to lens for most purposes. Also, 50-70mm range is excellent for portraits.

Avoid due to reliability.
A Ziess lens like this you'd expect to be built well to last. Yet, mine (and many others if you search) the front of the lens to becomes lose after just a few years of use. With some, the lens will get stuck and unable to zoom. Mine has never been dropped or abused, yet this has become a problem. The worst part: Sony wants $1400 to fix it.

Sharp lens
I used this lens only on couple of events so far mainly for low light indoor photography. The pictures were really nice and sharp. I am using it with 99M2 and this camera+lens combination seems to work flawlessly.

Awesome upgrade.
Right away I can see the difference in the new Sony 24-70mm f/2.8 ZA SSM II. The focus is superfast and image quality is much improved with the coating applied to the lens,
