Very nice 4k video from the camcorder. I shoot weddings originally thought the size was too small but was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the video. The 2 sd card system works great when I capture wedding ceremonies where some can be lengthy - over an hour. Battery run time is great and the continuous recording makes it a set and forget (you know its running) !

Great little camera
We are using this camera to shoot players warm ups and post game interviews with the coach at the MLB Astros playoff games and hopefully World Series games if the Astros move ahead.

Very impressed with the follow focus feature. As far as the rest of the auto features, I would recommend to always white balance manually, and always control the exposure manually too. The digital zoom is great. The menu is easy to navigate since the toggle switch is close to the record button and accessible when youre portable

Great Camera with a Few Weaknesses
There is a lot to like about this relatively inexpensive camera. Just used this on a show with many types of cameras, from GoPros to Canon 5D, EX-1, Panasonic 4k, etc. Pros: 1.Hybrid AF works well. It is not as intuitive as it sounds, but once you get the hang of it, it works. 2. Picture quality in good light is very good. 3. Nice little handycam
This is the 5th in my line of Sony handycams. I use these for a show on my boat and they are pretty rugged and nice picture quality for their size and format. The Z90 packs a punch in features, but you have to be careful with exposure. The exposure range is very narrow and under/over exposure can be a problem in my on the water shooting. Also sharpness is not the best unless it is bright light and the camera is locked down. Those two reasons are why it gets four stars. For the price I expected a little better, but it still does the job.

Autofocus GREAT Battery Doesn't Last Long Enough
The Autofocus of the 270 points in the 1" sensor in 21 milliseconds is phenominal! The battery power is insufficient to barely last over 1 hour. I bought 2 batteries, use 1 to set up for the venue (white balance and audio setup) then switch to 2nd battery. Have to remove the camcorder from the tripod to remove & replace battery.

A Great Camera ..... except . . . . . .
This could have been a great camera and I BADLY wanted it to work well. Instead, I write this review to reiterate strongly that unless you shoot with the correct lighting, you will be terribly disappointed in this camera which produces high amounts of video noise in low light or ambient lit indoor scenes. Get Camera - SSony PXW-Z90V 4K is a great camera
I have had for a short time but enough time to know I really like it. The slow motion is really nice. The picture quality it wonderful. There is a lot to learn as the camera has many useful features.

what's not to like
I love this camera. Auto focus, great image quality, XLR. Maybe not the same image quality of more expensive cinema cameras but it's got the goods on everything else. Plus I'm going blind so the auto focus is a plus.

Great camera for the price
We bought this after on of our old EX3s died. Noticeably sharper than the EX cameras even in HD. We just completed 3 days of shooting where we used it as an overhead shot. Nice too have the 4k so we can crop in our 1080 projects.

Fulfills my needs
This nice little camcorder does exactly what I want: shooting 10 bits 4:2:2 in HD with very reliable and fast autofocus. With a good exposure, the image is quite good.Nice to have 4k. Before I bought this camcorder, I did a thorough search on what this camera has and hasn't. I wish more buyers would inform themselves before writing a useless review about what they miss which they could've known before buying. In fact the last review is what triggered me to write my review, as to compensate for that.

you can not record 4K when output to HDMI/SDI with LCD on
My 3 years old JVC camera can record 4K and output 4K via HDMI and 1080 via SDI simultaneously with the LCD screen ON. Sony Z90V had to choose either SDI or HDMI AND need to TURN OFF the LCD screen. I can not run a SDI cable directly to the switcher, need extra monitor with SDI/HDMI pass through to solve it. Moreover, quality defect was found in second memory slot. I want to take the memory card out but not receiving a spring ejection when pushing the memory card. Returned.

Great So far
I ended up getting this camera from another vendor but do prefer BH. Anyway, I have few uses for this camera. Right now I will be mainly using it on the end of a JIB cam that we use for our churches Live Stream. In my opinion, this is one of the best options out there for jib use unless you have the budget to have a more expensivecamera and Jib. If it continues to work as well as it is I can see us buying a couple more for other camera positions like handheld roaming shots.

Superb light-weight camera
I have two Sony FS-700R cameras that I usually use in conjunction with Odyssey 7Q+ monitors - but I was looking for a camera that was lighter and more portable, suitable for traveling as well as for using in tight locations. Workhorse, with excellent autofocus
I got this camera for a long term project that requires flying to remote locations for interviews/lifestyle shots. I'm very glad I did. The image quality, autofocus, and build construction are all excellent. I don't have a problem with the limited number of assignable buttons, once I have the camera configured as I like, it is simple and easy to operate - and get image quality that to my eyes is often stunning. excellent work camera
I'm upgrading to the z90 from 2 x70s which I loved. This seems to be the exact same body which is great. The lcd screen shows more dynamic range. These cameras amaze me with some nice bokeh and crystal clear images and great audio. Extremely reliable and rugged. I love the small size, It will go easily from gimbal to slider to crane to rails with ease. I cant say enough about how good these cameras are, I will soon get a second one for multi cam shoots.

Before I purchased, I searched everywhere online for the manual but could not find it. As if it's 2005 all over again, they provided it on a disc with the camera. Here it is: https://www.dropbox.com/s/5cftry4ovcd0w6m/Sony%20PXW-Z90%20Manual.pdf?dl=0 I've only had it for a few hours, so it's too new for me to review properly, but a few annoyances I found is that it does not have enough assignable buttons. You need to menu dive for simple things such as zebra, peaking and setting white balance.

The next level in small camcorders
I got the SONY Z90 as a companion to my FS7. I wanted to shoot and export REC.2020 compliant video. Eventually produce and deliver HDR content (when Adobe updates its encoder to produce HDR/HLG video that is ST.2100/ST.2084 compliant.) The Z90 is amazing in low light.
