Point and shoot camera
This camera functions just fine but... the pictures are not as sharp and crisp as I would like. The sensor inside is just too small for the quality of picture I was looking for... since they are 20 megs. On the other hand, this is a very inexpensive camera so I shouldn't have had my hopes up. For the money, it's OK.

Great quality for a small point & Shoot camera.
I am impressed with the picture quality of this camera. I said that I would never buy a point & shoot camera again. This camera made me change my mind. Much easier to carry around than my DSLR.

Great 1st camera
I got this camera as a 1st camera for my grandson & he loves it! Fantastic choice for a beginning photographer.

First Camera
I've worked as a professional in film, video, and still photography since the '70s. I purchased this as a first camera for my nine-year-old grandson, who wanted to learn photography. He immediately took the camera to a bicycle race and took more than 200 pictures. It's a camera that is capable of making passable pictures with little instruction, and much better as he learns its capabilities and a little something about composition. A perfect beginner camera.

Good purchase
Needed to replace my old pocket camera which finally aged out. This camera has 5x optical zoom (acceptable) and 20 Mpixel capacity (more than acceptable). At a great price. Comes with owner's manual and a wrist strap, as well as connector cable to USB port. Good value.

A Really Nice Camera
No complaints from me on this camera. This is my second W800. Like any electronic product, the more you use it, the faster it can have an issue or two. I've had Canon point and shoot cameras, but I prefer the Sony.

Good basic point and shoot
Easy to use, very portable when you dont feel like carrying a heavy camera. Not as good at night shots, but good daylight pix.

Hard to focus
I purchased this camera for on-line photos....I have a hard time getting the camera to focus on my items...which are stationary...so it shouldnt be hard to focus! When the photos are focused, they look great! But, in my opinion, you shouldnt have to work this hard to get a decent photo!

Dissatisfied
From taking too many blurred pictures to not good enough zoom, overall there was too many pics being deleted Too much time between taking a pic and viewing it and/ or being able to take the next picture. Missed shots awaiting those follow up shots. Also the pic taking button not being pressed hard enough meant that picture desired wasn't successful Same with the start button had to be pressed.lomg enough . For a good company like Sony, O am... Nice camera, decent image quality for the price
Bought this camera for my 10y daughter, she loves it. Outdoors with enough light, it producesdecent images, indoors and low light it might be tricky, as long you use the settings appropriatefor the environmentyou'll have good images which is the case by all cameras.

20MP Not All That Impressive, But Good Camera at 10MP
When I shot photos with the camera set at 20 MP it automatically adjusted the film speed to a higher rating resulting in grainy pictures. For some reason it seemed the camera couldnt handle both higher mega pixels and low film speed. I didnt really notice any difference between 10 MP and 20 MP anyway so I found I got the best results by shooting at 10 MP and 100 ISO. (Photo is at 10MP, 100 ISO)

BEWARE! No USB Cable supplied
I bought these for my work, we have 7 locations that could use them. On the website it didn't say anything about a USB cable not coming with it. When they arrived, all 7 of them did not have a USB cable and now I have 2 A/C adapters, but no way to charge or hook up to a computer. B&H did try and remedy it, but sent me regular Micro-USB cables that do not work (Sony has its own size adapter). I'm sure the camera works fine if you're able to use it, but I'm not able to use it. In order to remedy this I'd have to spend more money on chargers and card readers which isn't in the budget.

Menu terrible
I teach an adult ed class on using a DSLR camera and am quite familar with the shoioting and viewing menus. I bought the DSC W800 for my wife for Christmas as it would be easier for her to use than either my Nikon D70 or D300 cameras. I have nothing but trouble accessing the shooting menu... The so called manual that comes with the camera is absolutly usleess. If I can't follw the menu steps I don't know how those that are not familar with the menu langue can be expected to.

It is older but OH SO cool!
I LOVE this little camera. I have a full review with photos, video and audio on my You Tube Channel - search John Knowles a Cyclist. It will never compare to my A6500 or the RX100V but for the price and how small it is, it is awesome. The dynamic range is not great and can not be pushed too hard, but it looks fine for Facebook or Instagram! Fun little camera.

First off B&H is the only place to buy a camera,,,,They are the absolute best at all aspects...shipping speed price and customer service...ok now about the camera...Great pics...Good video....But in my opinion it is cheaply made with way too much plastic...i wonder how much of a beating this will take..my guess is not that much...we will have to wait and see...other than that i am wish washy about the purchase

Great Little Camera
So I purchased 11 of these little gems for a project in Zambia called PhotoVoice. These will be used by the participants of the project and given to them at its conclusion. I'm a pro/am photographer using a Nikon D7200 (see Hanleys Lens). I ran through some test shots with the Sony cyber shot and I was very pleased with both the image quality and ease of use. We are using a Canon P110 for our printing and was pleasantly surprised at both the 5x7 ... Show More

Love the Cyber-shot camera
Great camera. Met all my expectations. The menu is easy to set it up just the way I want. The camera has a very solid feel to it. Love the battery which is easy to keep charged on my USB. Will probably save the whole cost of the camera simply by not having to buy batteries. And B&H continues to have great shipping time.

Sent back
Have had other low end point and shoots that my wife preferred to use but this one couldn't provide consistent clear photos plus the LCD on the back had to be looked at at an angle to see the image clearly. Sent it back.

Fun, Easy to Use, High Quality
Purchased as a gift for an 8-year old. He loves it. It's easy and intuitive to use and takes great photos. Hopefully it will reward his enthusiasm with an interest in photography. That's how I got started.
