I bought a Sony DSC-H300 for someone retiring and it exceeded their expectations - amateur with potential. The results were amazing and ended up getting one for myself as a 2nd camera. It does everything it claims. The only additional request would be a way to attach a filter so that if something scratches, it would be a filter rather than the lens

Great camera!
Excellent camera for my 78 year old Mom who loves taking photos, then she draws & paints from them. But toss the Sony batteries, dont hold up. Zoom is great too! She uses it for still photos only.

Good camera
This point and shoot is a good camera. I have two different Sony cameras, because I like the features and quality. Once loaded up with batteries, it has some heft. The zoom is fun to use, and even though the shots can be a tad grainy, I was expecting it. Like other P and S cameras, the auto focus in zoom mode can be a little annoying, waiting for it to focus, but I think its possible to work with it. Non zoom and low zoom shots are nice and clear... GR8 camera for a GR8 price
I do news for a living and I like this camera a lot for my personal use. It is simple to use and does everything I need to create great photos for documenting my hobbies, family travel, and personal projects. I would recommend this camera to anyone interested in doing the same.

I bought five cameras for my police department. Now each squad has their own camera for crime scene photos. I like the AA batteries because officers can grab a pack at any 24 hour store in an emergency if theirs are depleted.

Have had this camera bout a month. Excellent picture quality, even using telephoto. Does very good in the auto setting, but if you take the time to learn the specialty features, you can get very good special effects. Good solid feel. I do not need the wireless features and am happy not to have had to pay for that. With the supplimental memory card I have never come close to running out of memory. Intend to take this to Costa Rica o n vacation later this year Will put the zoom to good use on orchid &birds.

Great starter camera
I had a basic understanding of the different aspects of photography, and just needed something to practice with. This camera is more than that. Sure it's not as feature packed as a digital SLR, of course not, but it takes really great images and once you learn it, it'll do what you want it to do, for the most part.

Great low budget camera
Good camera that takes excellent photos for a cheaper budget camera. Not the best in low light scene but still better than high end stock phone cameras. I only wish it could manually focus but the auto focus does a good job.

Not worth the money
This camera looks good, but that is about it. There is no option to disable the automatic preview and it is very slow in saving the image every time you take a picture causing you to miss a lot of once-in-a-lifetime candid moments. I am very disappointed with this camera and I wish that I can return it for a full refund.
