Zoom speed too fast and very unprofessional
Our studio replaced a 7 year old SONY BRC-Z700 with the BRC-H800. We immediately noticed the zoom speed (at it slowest setting) was 2/3 faster than the BRC-Z700 which zooms slowly and smoothly and takes 59 seconds to move from full out to full in. The new BRC-H800 zooms fully out to fully in @ 19 seconds which looks very unprofessional, especially for a live broadcast. The camera makes us look like amateurs and inexperienced. Not As Good As I Hoped
I bought this camera hoping to see a big improvement from our Sony SRG360SHE cameras. The improvement is minor and there are some negatives that the other doesn't even have. The other person's comment about the fast zooming is true. It is too fast to use in a live scenario, which is a big bummer. Fantastic Robotic Cam
The flexibility of this camera cannot be understated. The image quality and ease of use are astounding. The sensor cropping zoom is seamless when shooting in HD, and it allows the camera to compete with other manufacturers cameras on zoom distance. I have never been able to notice the point that it changes from optical to digital zoom. Things they can improve upon: -desperately needs an easy connection point for a safety cable. -12G-SDI outputs on each bnc.
