Whether it Grado or Hifiman or a bunch of others, that common flat headband on the headphone works, but its not the greatest for comfort. However, the simple addition of this headband cushion really brings up the comfort several notches. It looks better than the wrap around kind, imo, as well. Did the trick.
Like most Sennheiser parts, it's overpriced but it does exactly what you'd expect and you're not having to try to shove cotton in your old headband. There's a VERY small notch that it fits into that can be a little trying at first, but once it's in there it ain't going anywhere. Sorta gave my old HD580s new life.

Very much needed replacement part
This is an OEM headband cushion for my Sennheiser HD580. My old headband cushion was inexplicably flattened like a piece of cardboard. The new one is very comfortable, and was easy to install. Remove the plastic clip on the side, slide the old cushion out, slide the new cushion in. Well-packaged (actually, over-packaged) and fast shipping, as usual with B&H.

Small cushion for many head bands
I bought these Sennheiser headband cushions which are made to fit the HD 580 and HD 600, but it is also the right size to fit Sennheiser's 280's, when attached using thin strips of double sided tape. O E M headband. First time replacement. Will keep better eye on longevity this time to see how long they actually last cause the old ones are wore out.12 years I think Sennheiser could do some kind of longer lasting foam.

Its so SQUISHY!
I had picked up a used set of HD600's where the headband padding had pretty much disappeared. Love the headphones but comfort was severely compromised. This replacement cushion was a 30 second swap and they are now like new. Also, B&H had it in stock when Sennheiser USA didn't even have it. Best $ dollar upgrade ever!

great mod for Shure SRH440
I attached this to the headband of my Shure SRH440 headphones, which don't have a lot of padding. Makes them much more comfortable, I wear them at work for hours at a time without much trouble. Doesn't completely eliminate the pressure though, they are still heavy phones and not as comfortable as my Senheiser HD558s, which already have a nice plush headband pad (slightly different from this one but similar). Works well as extra padding on He-400
I have HifiMan HE400 headphone that have rather thin padding wrapped with leather around the headband. I shave my head so the thinness of the padding combined with noticeable weight of the headphones makes them uncomfortable without hair layer. Additionally, the leather on bare skin feels sticky after a while. I purchased this cushion and attached it to the HE400 headband with a piece of double sided scotch tape. The headphones are much more comfortable now. The cushion provides the needed padding, it is soft, and allows the skin to breathe.

Perfect factory replacements!
For some reason my original pads someone completely deflated. On a whim I googled and found replacement pads. They shipped, and were easily replaced. It's a great $ replacement for your high priced Sennheisers
