it works perfect
I use it as cache memory for After Effects and Final Cut Pro in a MacBook Pro. Just be aware to work on a desk surface because it can be unintentionally disconnected if the laptop moves.

this is the way to go now.
In general, I hate external disk-driven hards drives. I have los t any amount of stuff! My trustworthy G 1T (Hitachi) still working and I manage to transfer 30.000 photo files (375GB) non-stop with no problem.

Beware doesnt work with OS Catalina
Think twice before you buy. This disk requires additional drivers in order to access the drive as it provides encryption out-of-the-box, which is great. Unfortunately Samsung is not very good in keeping the software that belongs to this device in line with OS development and releases. Especially on Mac there are severe stability issues en the Current Operation system (Catalina) is still not availble. I love the device for its size and speed but Samsung could definately do better on the required accompanieng software

worth the investment ?
YES if you have the extra $ to invest. I just got this SSDrive recently so its hard to say what it can & cannot do. My purpose for investing into this is to have a safe secure way of transporting valuable files.

Best SSD for the BMP4k-6k
This SSD is compact and fits great in the Tilta cage. You will need a tilta or blue bird USB-C cable if you are connected to the camera for data and powering the SSD. The cable that comes with the drive only work when moving data to and from your computer.

It's perfect but if you want to use it with a black magic cinema camera, I recommend you go for 1tb at least to get the most out of your shoots.

Speed and Design are Awesome!
I've never had a portable drive better than this one. It comes with cables for both USB-C and USB-A, so I can quickly switch between workstations and laptops. I use it for video editing. It helps me when transferring hundreds of gigs of footage to go edit at a coffee shop. And I know that when I am editing the drive is not the bottleneck. If things are slow, it's not the drive, it's Premiere effects or something else. The design is awesome, it's is solid, and fits anywhere. Different colored metal allows me to know which project I'm grabbing from my desk.

solid and fast
I have purchased several 500GB Samsung drives over the past year or 2 for the purpose of backing up photos while travelling. small, light and super fast. I expect no difference from the 1 TB version - bought it because it was on sale at a really good price.

Must-have for 4K Pocket Owners
This drive connects to 4K and 6K pocket cameras, allowing you to capture long-form events and presentations when CFast cards wont work. You can even use them as attached storage to edit from and they are similar speeds to my other gtech SSD ev drives.

Secure Backup Plan
Removed from package and attached it to PC. Quickly backed up the (C) and (D) drives and thousands of photo files on an external hard drive. No internal batteries so I was able to store in my bank safety deposit box. If there were a catastrophic event in the house I would have this additional safe backup. It arrived B&H quick, and at a great price.

Still the best IMHO
I now own several Samsung SSD drives - a couple of 250s and 500s and now this 1TB version. Theyre just the best. Sooo fast I can use them in real time as my working drive for audio production. My only complaint is the ads-on software thats loaded when I initialize the drive on my system. Thats not valuable to me and I always have to seek out disable the software, otherwise, the prompt continues to pop up when I dont want it. With that aside, I doubt you could find a faster, safer and reliable storage medium. Highly recommended. BTW, B&H has always been great to deal with.

Perfect Fit
The T5 is a perfect fit for the camera cage external drive holder I use. It has a lot of storage space that allows me the flexibility to shoot in raw and/or pro res. So far no drops or glitch from the T5 so I love it!

FAST!
I already have T5 512gb, wanted the 2TB version and it works great! I got a new case that I can store both in and the cables. It was only a little bigger than the single case. Overall, Samsung has done a good job, you get the USB 3.1 cable and USB -C cable, you can format for Windows or Mac. What's not to like.

Great drive; very fast
This is a great storage drive; it is super fast! If you have a Mac, you need to go to Samsung's site and download the updated firmware and you will be all set! Some people said that it doesn't work with a Mac; that is not true. You just need to download the new firmware on Samsung's site

For larger file when you shoot raw you need external drive and this one fulfills your requirement. I am really happy with the transfer speed.

Perfect Accessory for BMPCC 4K
Bought this to finally upgrade from using SD cards. Have had it for about a week now, and took it on several shoots already, one lasting 6 hours, and no hiccups. Haven't experienced any issues with dropped frames, or corrupted files. Would buy again!
