Updated 128GB SSD with Samsung 500GB SSD
The 500 GB SSD is up and running successfully. This was my first upgrade on a desktop computer. Using the Samsung Magician and Samsung Migrate utilities I was able to replace my old 128GB SSD drive with the new 500GB drive. I did the migration via USB 3 SATA connector and cloned the old C Drive to the new SSD. When I replaced the Old drive with the new one in my HP Envy 740 and rebooted the desktop the new drive automatically started as the C Drive. The whole process took about 2 1/2 hours to complete. I am very pleased with the results.

Great so far
Using this on a Imac outboard for now until I get the nerve to take the screen out of the iMac. It works great so far except on a iMac that barely meet 4K editing compatibility. Loads fast even though using with the USB3 outboard adapter. Surprisingly well.

Ordered this based on reviews and that it is supposed to be more reliable than the QVO series. B&H shipped right away and it showed up the next day. This went into a Dell Inspiron laptop whose hard drive had died. Looked up how to remove and install a hard drive from the Dell website. This drive works with Blackmagic Production 4k camera. It even allows you to shoot in RAW which my other SSD that cost me twice as much didn't allow.

Fast and Reliable
I use this as a scratch disk in conjunction with the 970 EVO nVME drive as a boot drive. As a video editor, this is the perfect scenario for fast and efficient editing.

2TB SSD replaced original 256GB SSD on ThinkPad X240

This is the best least expensive way to upgrade a computer!!
My deskside system got several years of extra life from this upgrade. Replacing your C: drive with a SSD will give your system a performance boost and is much easier and less expensive than upgrading CPU's or motherboards. Cloning the old 1TB C: to the 1TB SSD took about 2.5 hrs, but after it finished I rebooted, after interrupting boot to change the boot device to the SSD, and was up and running with no issues. I highly recommend this to anyone who is semi proficient with computers!

turned my old lap top into a rocket!
Samsung Migration app that comes with ssd worked really good. (Sata cable is needed B&H has good ones cheap) The boot speed and functions increased by at least 4 times faster. Only having 4gb ram, decided to add 8gb more and now Windows 10 works much better. For less than $200 (ssd, sata cable, and 8gb ram) I have made my older (2013) laptop run like a newer machine....Awesome!

Better than expected
Replaced a standard Hitachi 360gb hdd with this Samsung ssd knowing that speed would improve. I timed hard starts with hdd and it took 00:01:45 to get to login screen minimum. I mirrored drive and installed ssd and first start took 00:00:16. I am impressed to say the least, guess I expected it to shave startup time to half. Also the computer will play GoPro videos now where previously the hdd and I3 processor would not play 2.4K GoPro footage.

Best SSD Around!
I previously had the 2TB version of this same drive and loved it, but I needed more space. This drive is amazingly small and quiet, and boy is it fast! I love it and you will too!

Great SSD so far. Software and instructions were useless.
The 2TB Samsung 860 EVO SSD has been great so far. The downloadable cloning and Magician software were mostly useless in my case. The cloning software will not clone a source hard drive that has been formatted as a dynamic drive. However, there are a few (most can't clone a dynamic disk) cloning software packages on the internet for ~$50 that will allow one to do this. Working great, just ordered a 2nd
After pulling the trigger on the big boy about a year ago I recently ordered a 2nd a these 4TB SSDs. It's cheaper now. This replaces my last remaining 7,000RPM SATA HDD in my 4 drive workstaion. Losing some space going from 8TB down to 4TB I decided was worth it for the gain in speed, trying to squeeze out a little more from my old system. I now have about 11 Samsung drives total used in several computers and so far they have been great. No problems. I quickly clone each system drive so in case of an issue I can revert back and keep working

Great Big Drive
My work requires transfering many large files constantly and clunky HDDs are just too slow to keep up. So have 4 of these 860 EVO 4TB drives now and am able to get what I need done without waiting on my machines for that annoying green bar in Windows Explorer when I open up a folder.

A Worthy Update for an Older Machine
Needed an inexpensive but reputable performance SSD to help out a legacy 2008 PC that was an absolute slug with an original 750GB, 5400 rpm HDD. This 1TB drive, at a bargain price, works nicely, speeding up this ol' PC, running Windows 10 with 4GB of RAM. It's not our first Samsung SSD, but the first non Pro model, and it nicely fits the bill to provide an inexpensive yet fast upgrade for an old warrior unit. It may not have the read/write cycles that more expensive units have, but it will suffice nicely for this application. If that's what you need, it's strongly recommended!
